"Moi aussi" is a collection that reinterprets the classic mid-20th century iron chair. However, this type of piece originated in 18th century France and has evolved over time to adapt to changing styles. During the mid-century period, especially in the United States, these chairs underwent a transformation, becoming more streamlined and less ornate. My name is Albert Garcia, and I am the creative director of Lobster's Day. As a designer, I felt the desire to have a more personal line within my brand, where special furniture, art, capsule collections, unique pieces, and limited editions could find a place. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
BIG MANGLE
A collection made of fiberglass, consisting of an armchair and a chair. Each piece is unique and does not follow any pattern; it is a handmade art piece, where I shape and define each detail. Its production is very limited and is subject to my schedule and availability. Each piece is numbered.
I designed this parasol after watching Puccini's "Madame Butterfly." The imagery of that opera served as inspiration to determine the shape and colors of this parasol.
On this occasion, I drew inspiration from the world of Pierre Cardin, the red/white and retrofuturism of his designs from the 1960s, as well as his mythical villa on the French Riviera.
I know,
the parasol is not red, the iconic color of the great designer. This parasol is inspired by a haute couture dress that I love from Valentino.
ALBERT GARCIA LLONGARRIU, studied industrial design and interior architecture in Barcelona. Following graduation, he started working at the family furniture business. He initially combined his work managing the business with studying management and administration.
Passionate about all disciplines of design, he decided to merge both his training backgrounds and set up a business, creating LOBSTERʼS DAY to bring his designs to life. He currently combines art direction and the design of all his collections with the creation of products for other companies.
