Mission

The Mission of the Modern American School is to provide learners with an engaging and challenging blended learning environment within a diverse community while focusing on international programs, catering for learners’ well-being, fostering international mindedness, and offering various opportunities and experiences that contribute to learners’ growth.

Growing Through Feedback: Peer Reflection in Our Writing Journey Growing Through Feedback: Peer Reflection in Our Writing Journey

As part of the Grade 7 writing journey, classrooms turned into creative studios where ideas were shared, voices were heard, and drafts were shaped through thoughtful peer reflection. Before moving on to their summative task, students collaborated closely during the formative phase, exchanging comments, spotting areas for growth, and offering constructive feedback with care and purpose. Through open communication and teamwork, learners learned to see their writing through new eyes. By applying ATL skills, students learned that strong writing is built through feedback and revision.

A motivational session was dedicated to helping our Grade 6 students discover what inspires them to study and to succeed, through a collaborative activity that emphasizes teamwork and shared responsibility.

As a Middle School student in the Recycling Project, I took part in our school’s awareness campaign. We visited Grade 2, gave a short presentation about recycling, and led a hands-on activity.

After that, we wrote a reflection about how our presentation went. We also created artwork that was displayed in the school hallways to help spread awareness about recycling.

I had the opportunity to teach a data analysis lesson to 6th graders through our Environmental Science program. As a senior, it was meaningful to share my knowledge and make learning engaging for younger students. The session was interactive and fun, and it was great to see them confidently connect data to real-world environmental issues.

The Science Department and MS Team welcomed Dr. Mohammad Talab as a guest speaker for Grade 8 learners, where he explored the role of chemistry in everyday life with a special focus on dentistry. Students learned how scientific concepts are applied in dental health, gaining real-world insights through expert explanations and engaging discussions.

Hands of Hope Hands of Hope

Our community project was to give better education to underprivileged schools by giving books and learning games that the students can use. We chose this project because we want to give back to the community and for students to have a better education.

Based on the Modern American School’s holistic approach towards its students and their wellbeing and general healthcare, anti-smoking sessions were conducted by Dr. May and Dr. Randa to discuss the negative impacts of this habit on our body and oral health> Students enjoyed it, found it informative and shared their own perspectives on this important topic.

Food Sustainability

As part of their Community Project, Grade 8 students turned compassion into action by raising funds to purchase a fridge and place it beside a mosque to support people in need. What a meaningful example of empathy, service, and true community spirit!

Our Grade 8 journey through making a difference in our community project, Threads of Hope, we worked together to design hoodies, collect books, and raise awareness to support children at SOS Children’s Village. For us, this wasn’t just a school project—it was a meaningful experience that combined creativity, teamwork, and compassion.

As part of our Taking Action journey, students turned creativity into impact through the Craft Sale for our community donations project. Working with purpose, they planned, designed, and created handmade items while practicing key ATL skills, communicating ideas clearly, collaborating in teams, and supporting one another to reach a shared goal. The craft sale was more than an event; it was a learning experience rooted in empathy and responsibility. Students engaged with the school community, explained the purpose behind their work, and saw how small actions can create meaningful change.

Developing French Speaking Skills During Ramadan

Sixth-grade students practiced speaking in French by learning and using Ramadan-related vocabulary. They used digital tools to organize their ideas and express themselves confidently as IB Communicators and Thinkers.

With focused eyes and steady voices, our Grade 6 and 7 students stepped into the spotlight and turned letters into confidence. Each word became a moment of courage, as each pause provided a chance to think and a celebration of effort and growth. The room buzzed with encouragement as classmates cheered one another on, reminding us that learning is not just about getting the word right; it’s about showing up, trying again, and growing braver with every attempt.

Every Tuesday, during the Holy month of Ramadan, our campaign box will circulate to encourage students to donate and support those in need. Together, we promote the true values of Ramadan — generosity, compassion, and sharing.

We had an incredible trip to Snow City ! As soon as we entered, we felt like we were in a real winter wonderland. We played in the snow, slid down the icy slides, and had so much fun together. We laughed the whole time and didn’t want the day to end. It was truly a special experience for all of us!

Grade 6 students brought their learning to life by presenting their IDU projects, connecting Math and Science. From analyzing graphs and tables to exploring ecosystems, the library buzzed with curiosity, questions, and creativity!

From Awareness to Action From Awareness to Action

In this IDU lesson, Grade 7 students integrated English and I&S to critically investigate real-world environmental challenges, design thoughtful solutions, and present purposeful action plans that move beyond discussion—calling for sustainability, responsibility, and meaningful change within their communities and beyond.

School football brings out the champions within

Friendly football games between school teams do more than build athletic skill; they help students grow into confident, resilient individuals. Each match teaches them how to communicate, trust their teammates, and push beyond their comfort zones. The excitement of friendly competition strengthens their sportsmanship and fuels their passion for the game. Over time, these experiences shape not only better players, but stronger, more confident young people with true sports spirit.

MAS Talent Show 2026 MAS Talent Show 2026

On February 12, the school theatre hosted the exceptional MAS Talent Show 2026, celebrating students’ creativity, dedication, and artistic excellence after a selective casting process and two weeks of preparation. The event featured a rich variety of performances, including singing, dance, instrumental music, and poetry, captivating the audience and showcasing remarkable student talent. All participants were honoured with medals and certificates, with special recognition awarded to the top three winners. Third place went to Dina Qudah (Grade 6), Maya Shahin (Grade 5) and Carolina Herschel (Grade 6), second place to Lilian Elghawi (Grade 12), and first place to Malak Daoud (Grade 8). The Talent Show brought the entire school community together and stood as an inspiring celebration of passion, effort, and excellence.
