Mission
The Mission of the Modern American School is to provide learners with an engaging and challenging blended learning environment within a diverse community while focusing on international programs, catering for learners’ well-being, fostering international mindedness, and offering various opportunities and experiences that contribute to learners’ growth.
The “Layering Learning: Turning Research into Reasoning, Writing & Student Voice” session was an engaging and hands-on professional development experience that supported teachers in designing tasks that move students beyond simple research into deeper thinking. By structuring learning through stages research, reasoning using CER, clear writing, and student voice teachers promote critical thinking, reduce reliance on copying, and encourage meaningful understanding. This approach strengthens key ATL skills and helps students become more independent and confident learners.

HealthyMinds, StrongTeams
Our Grade 8 students explored what it means to live a balanced and healthy life. Through collaboration and strong ATL skills, they examined how nutrition supports energy, muscle growth, and overall wellbeing. By connecting their learning to PHE, they investigated the relationship between movement, nutrition, and mindset. Using NotebookLM, they organized and presented their ideas creatively, demonstrating inquiry, teamwork, and critical thinking.

Bringing“SipofSerenity”toLife
Grade 6 students experienced an exciting and interactive reading session with author Aleen Jweinat, featuring her book Sip of Serenity. Instead of simply listening, students actively engaged with the story by reacting to key moments, sharing predictions, and discussing their thoughts with one another. Selected parts of the book were read aloud to align with English class, and through this, the room came alive with curiosity, laughter, and meaningful connections to the characters and themes. Students were engaged and enjoyed this memorable experience that deepened their understanding of storytelling and sparked genuine enthusiasm for reading.
Today was a really exciting and fun experience for us in Grade 6 and 7! We got to explore Virtual Reality (VR) and see how it is used in real life, which gave us an interesting glimpse into the future of technology. We also learned about 3D printing, looked at different 3D designs, and understood how digital ideas can turn into real objects. To make things even more exciting, we joined interactive activities using the Fun Floor, where we mixed movement, games, and learning in an engaging way. It was a day full of creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning!

Students explored texts while moving between activities, making each stop feel like part of a living story. The session sparked curiosity, improved focus, and helped students connect with ideas in a meaningful way. It showed that reading becomes more powerful when it is active, shared, and experienced beyond the classroom.
