Vision Mission

The Mission of the Modern American School is to provide learners with an engaging and challenging blended learning environment within a diverse community while focusing on international programs, catering for learners’ well-being, fostering international mindedness, and offering various opportunities and experiences that contribute to learners’ growth.

From Home to Community: Building Teen Responsibility

On December 2nd , Our high school parents gathered for a rich and inspiring conversation with Amani Jouza, educational consultant and regional expert in SEL, leadership, and youth empowerment.

Through her human-centered and culturally rooted approach, Amani guided us in exploring how families and schools can work hand in hand to strengthen teen responsibility, emotional resilience, and wellbeing. Grateful for our engaged parents and their thoughtful participation —together, we continue building a community where our teens feel supported, capable, and ready to thrive.

EnvironmentalClub

The Environmental Club began shifting its focus toward Energy and Water Conservation as part of our ongoing action plan. Students are currently in the process of designing themed awareness boards across the school floors, gathering visuals, drafting posters, and planning engaging conservation messages. Their collaboration and commitment reflect a growing sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship. This ongoing work is laying the foundation for the full installation. Through these efforts, learners continue to take active steps toward protecting the environment and supporting a more sustainable school community.

A Journey of Leadership, Growth, and Reflection

Serving as Deputy Secretary-General was both challenging and incredibly rewarding for me. Managing teams, handling pressure, and making quick decisions pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow as a leader. MASMUN taught me responsibility, effective communication, and how to lead with confidence even in stressful moments. I am deeply grateful to the Modern American School, represented by its visionary leaders Mr. and Mrs. Zamel, for this invaluable opportunity, and to our MUN Director, Mr. Mamoun Qawasmi, for his trust and guidance throughout this journey.

MASMUN’26 marks the culmination of a journey that began three years ago a journey filled with growth, challenges, and unforgettable memories. As Secretary General, from my early days as Deputy Head of Debate & Delegation, learning how things worked behind the scenes, to stepping into this role, every debate, planning session, and late-night meeting has shaped not just the conference, but also me. The past eight months of preparing for MASMUN’26 were intense, full of teamwork, problem-solving, and moments that tested my patience and creativity, but seeing it all come together today makes every effort worthwhile. It is bittersweet to see this chapter close, yet I will carry the lessons, friendships, and passion for diplomacy far beyond these walls. MASMUN has been more than a conference; it has been a transformative journey that changed how I see the world and myself.

BookClub MappingtheSilo

In December, the HS Book Club transformed the library into a creative journey down the Silo. Students dove into an interactive activity where each member was randomly assigned a level of the Silo, complete with key moments from the text, guiding questions, and artistic prompts, all prepared by the Executive Board Students! As sketches came together, individual levels were assembled into a striking collective display that brought the Silo’s structure, movement, and underlying power dynamics to life. The result was a collaborative, visually compelling experience that showed how literature can truly come alive beyond the page.

ParentTeacherConference

The High School Parent-Teacher Conference was a meaningful and well-coordinated event that highlighted student learning, collaboration, and community partnership. Students shared their work and reflected on their academic journeys, demonstrating confidence and ownership of their learning. Teachers and administrators engaged in constructive dialogue with parents, offering academic and behavioral insights while strengthening relationships built on trust and transparency. The presence of university and social counselors added further value by providing guidance and individualized support. Parents expressed appreciation for the positive school environment, strong organization, and the welcoming spirit of the event, making the conference a successful opportunity to celebrate progress and reinforce our shared commitment to student growth.

The High School hosted a college fair organized by the Academic and College Counseling Department, featuring universities from the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe, and the Gulf region. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive information about admission requirements and available majors.
