We, the Senior Class of 1962, are proud and honored to dedicate this edition of the A ppalachian to a person whose outstanding teaching ability and genuine concern for each individual’s future success have endeared her to the entire student body. None of us w ill ever forget her willingness to work w ith us in various school-related activities. The love and thoroughness which she has for teaching have proved to be a constant inspiration to all of us to achieve our u t most. Therefore we wish to express the admiration and sin cere appreciation we feel by dedicating this annual to M r s . J ack

The dedicated com m unity leaders who com prise the School Board strive for one basic achieve ment— the continued betterm ent of the M aryville C ity Schools. W ith this thought in mind, these

civic-m inded men give generously of their time and ab ility in order to m aintain M aryville H igh ’s high academic standards and admirable reputation.

P A R E N T T E A C H E R S A SSO C IA T IO N The prim ary function of the M aryville H igh School Parent-Teacher Association is to develop closer cooperation between the home and the school. Meeting regularly, our parents and the facu lty discuss various means of strengthening

parent-teacher relationships. By establishing this close understanding between the home and the school, the P-TA earns a high regard from M aryvillians.
