Message from the Board Chair and the President We are pleased to share with you this year’s Annual Report of giving for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020. And what a year it was! We are deeply grateful for your support and humbled by your generosity, especially during this time of challenge and uncertainty in our world.

Our student-only, Prom-like Celebration, held outdoors, in the Mary Circle, almost two months after the previously scheduled traditional event was cancelled, is just one example of the creativity, innovation and commitment to capture joy that has defined our days since March 2020. Though not the celebration that the Class of 2020 had planned for, it was still a moment of pure happiness and connection, in a time marked by change, disruption and disappointment. In late July, Maryvale celebrated Prom and both eighth grade and Senior Graduations, all in the iconic Mary Circle, with the Castle as backdrop.

Thanks to the loyal donors listed on these pages, in a most extraordinary year, Maryvale’s 2019 – 2020 Annual Fund topped $725,000. In all, total giving exceeded $2 million again this year, including the Because of Maryvale Capital Campaign, the endowment, events, legacy gifts and all other support.

Your gifts allowed us the flexibility to respond to the changing needs of our school, our students, our teachers and our families. And your generosity continues to inspire us to deliver the quality education and experience that is Maryvale — regardless of the method of delivery. Never have the words learn, lead, succeed meant more.

Thanks to early lead gifts to our Because of Maryvale Capital Campaign, we are confident as we continue toward the $11 million goal for this historic effort for our school.

This year, we commemorate the 75th anniversary of Maryvale. As we honor our history and look forward to an even brighter future, we will rely on the continued generosity of those who believe in the enduring mission and values of Maryvale.

Maryvale is pleased to report that, to date, more than $8 million in gifts and pledges has been raised in the early stages of this historic campaign. The school is extremely grateful for the extraordinary generosity of the many alumnae/alumni, families and friends who have made commitments to this campaign for capital projects and to grow the school’s endowment, particularly in the area of scholarship funding. Thanks to early lead gifts, Maryvale has completed renovations that added new academic spaces on the first floor of the Castle and in the second floor St. Julie Billiart Wing, along with the restoration of the century-old structure’s façade. In addition, a new locker room complex was added to Maguire Hall. The campaign continues toward its $11 million goal.
