The IB Diploma
Middle Years Programme (MYP) students learn how to learn. Students gain deeper understanding in a creative, collaborative environment which fosters critical thinking, resilience, and independence.
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is recognized and highly respected by the world’s leading universities. Marymount Diploma candidates study one course from six subject groups, three at Standard Level and three at Higher Level. These must include two languages, one subject relating to social studies, one laboratory science, one mathematics, and a sixth subject, which may be music, theatre arts, visual arts, or another in the first four categories mentioned.

The MYP encourages students to draw meaningful connections between eight broad and varied subject groups: Language & Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals & Societies, Science, Mathematics, Arts, Design, and Physical & Health Education. With a central focus on the development of conceptual understanding and effective approaches to learning skills, the MYP is a student-centered, inquiry-based program rooted in interdisciplinary learning. Students are challenged and supported to become effective communicators, open-minded inquirers, and reflective practitioners, thus acquiring the foundational skills needed to experience success in the Diploma Programme.
In addition, all Diploma candidates follow a criticalthinking course entitled Theory of Knowledge, submit an extended essay (normally related to one of the examination subjects) and participate in the Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) programme. Students and teachers collaborate closely in preparation for IB exams in May, through internal assessments, class presentations, projects, and extensive independent research.

We believe that a high-stakes and stressful test environment is not the best measure of any child’s future potential. Our admissions approach is truly personal and holistic. Payments may be made by bank draft, cheque payable to Marymount International School, or bank transfer. Cash payments are not permitted. Please contact the School for more information. PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Fees are due in full by 1st June 2021. Alternatively, Marymount will accept payment of 60% of the total amount due by 1st June 2021 and 40% on 1st December 2021. A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), as required by the UK Visa & Immigration authority (UKVI), must be issued to all non UK students. The School supports CAS applications for full boarding students only. The School must be in receipt of 100% of the fees before submission of a CAS application. For students accepted after 1st June 2021, payment is due upon presentation of the invoice. Students will not be admitted to School until payments have been received. A surcharge of 1.5% per calendar month (or part of a month) will be levied monthly (APR 19.56%) should fees be outstanding after the due date(s).
