The 1994 football season opened and closed with impressive victories. Even though the season's record of 3-7 may not show it, the team pulled together and played very hard. The fifteen seniors on the team showed great leaderhship and pride. We thank you for the good times, and you will be deeply missed. Good luck in your futures and may they be prosperous and bright.

work, the WHS Swim Team is the biggest around. The swim team goes to great lengths to compete in the sport they love. The team, made up of Seniors Zach Meixner and Jill Hartsock and Fre hman Lance Brad treet, practice up to nine time a week at two different pools in

Lebanon and Cincinnati. They practice before school, after school, and on the weekends. They lift weights, throw medicine ball around, do itups and pu hup till they throw up, and run for mile ; then they get in the water and really tart to work. The swimmers can practice up to five or ix hours a day and go back the next day for more. The wim team competed in two regular season meets thi year,

Zach winning the breast at WCC's.

one more than last year. The season began with the Ohio High School Swimming and Diving Clas ic, quite possibly the bigge t wim meet in the world. Zach and Jill both cored for the team by placing in the top 16 in their events. Next the team went on to the Warren County Champion hip . Zach swam the 100 meter breaststroke and the 200 meter individual medley and won both, etting meet records in both of them al o. Jill warn the 100 meter back troke and the 100 meter butterfly and won both of them by etting meet record . Lance warn the 200 meter freestyle and the 100 meter free tyle and won the 200 with a meet record and placed econd in the 100. The season tarted to end at Sectionals where Zach warn the 200 yard I.M. and the 100 yard breast troke in which he qualified for Districts. A WINNING DIFFERENCE Thi year' wre tling season had its ups and downs. We started out the season with a win against Mount Healthy, a Division I high school. Then in the next couple of week we lo t a few wrestlers to injuries. Rick Kincaid broke his leg the night before Summitt Country Day Invitational, B.J. Stone missed the season due to a recurring back injury, and D.J. Collins had a neck injury at Springboro. Fortunately the wrestlers ended the season on a good note by qualifying two wrestlers for the District Tournament at Xenia High School. D.J. Collins qualified for districts by placing 3rd at sectional and Evan Boggs placed 4th to qualify for districts. Wre tier who earned special award at the Winter Sports Banquet were D.J. Collins- Outstanding Wre tier, John Barney- Mo t Improved, and Ju tin Trentham - Pride, Hustle, and Desire. "Evan Boggs is determined to win."

Porn-Poms, Spirit, & At WHS there is one group of girls that have more spirit than the rest of the school put together. These girls are , of course , the cheerleaders . Although the girls didn't compete in any competitions this year, we are still proud of them because they are at all of the big sporting dvi or Pat Ya1r events showing their support for the school that they Jove. At the awards banquet this year, Mrs. Yair upheld her flair for the unusual by giving her girls music boxes each playing a song that matched their personality. She also informed everyone that Holly has some kind of fascination with pigs or something (?) . o matter what their song or favorite animal, though, they are Charlie's Angels and the school wouldn't be the same without them. SUMMER TRA. VELERS

Once Upon a Mattress is a

by T racey Wilson The 1994-95 school year will be over before we know it, and what's a better way to end it than graduation? To attend the State Thespian Conference, of course . And that is exactly what our troupe did. On March 31April 2. Waynesville High School 's Thespian Troupe caravanned to Columbus to experience the weekend of their lives. Our personal advisor, Mr. Leist was selected for the State Board last year, and had a new and exciting expenence this year. We are all very proud of Mr. Leist and his accomplishments. Congratulations Mr. Leist! The troupe will be attending a couple of plays throughout the next two months, and 1n the mean time, will be volunteering their efforts behind the scenes of the upcoming musical. The school year Will be coming to a close shortly and it will be time to elect new officers and say goodbye to the present ones. Eight semors will be leaving the troupe this year and will be replaced by new recruits . The induction will take place some time next month. Best of luck to our graduating seniors. Your humor and talent w1ll be greatly missed.

Wayne ville, OH - It wa quite a year for the Spartacus taff in regard to the 1994-1995 school year. It wa the fir t time in everal year that the chool newspaper wa publi hed on a regular ba is. There were ten i ue publi hed throughout the chool year compared to the two a year recently. The paper was given a chance due to the dream and vi ion of Jenny Foley and the hard work of Zach Meixner and Pete Lawrence. Zach and Jenny were the CoEditor -in-Chief and Pete wa the Managing Editor. The taff wa plit between six enior and five sophomore and freshmen. The editors and the advi or, Tammy Smith, got through it with a lot of hard work and a bit of luck. The student body liked the paper, and it old better than any published recently. The staff re pon ible for publi hing the Spartacus is pictured to the left and right. The only staff member not pictured is Amy Dyke for whom a picture was not available. ApparAmy Ward ently an old project has been revived at Wayne ville High School and hopefully it will be continued by the young taff. The ''new'' Spartacus may go down in the school's history with the revival of the football bell, the opening of McDonald's, and the Sauerkraut Festival. Well, maybe it' not quite that big, but urely it will be remembered.
