The M y y ee Committee are working together to recruit new referees to help ensure that all sanctioned matches have coverage. In just the past few months, a 167% (444 new referees) increase in the total number of new referees has been realized when compared with last year!
As new, first-year referees represent approximately 25% of all licensed referees within Maryland, and as nearly 70% of these referees are children, an Observer program was created to provide game day support at the field. The Observer program is gaining popularity as referees are beginning to ask for Observers to be present at their matches!
