MARYLAND ODP INVITATIONAL
On February 15-16, the MSYSA Olympic Development Program hosted the 2025 Maryland ODP Invitational at Liberty Sports Park, bringing together top talent from across the region for a weekend of high-level competition. Despite challenging weather conditions, the event was a success, providing players with valuable opportunities for development, exposure, and elite match experience.
Maryland ODP was thrilled to welcome Pennsylvania West ODP, Pennsylvania East ODP, and New Jersey ODP to the event. The friendly matches showcased impressive skill, teamwork, and determination from all participating teams, while also providing countless learning opportunities. Reinforcing the importance of events like these.
MSYSA Technical Director, Gandalf French reflected on the event, stating:
“The 2025 Maryland ODP Invitational was again successful this year despite the challenging weather experienced through the weekend! We were pleased to be able to host such strong teams and as a result our coaches are now better prepared to meet the players’ needs for the Spring ODP training cycle. This event is vital for our Maryland players as well as the four other attending states due to its high level of competition, college coach exposure, and visibility to Regional ID Scouts. Maryland ODP is proud to be able to provide an event that contributes to youth soccer development across the region.”
The Maryland Invitational continues to serve as a key event for ODP player growth and scouting opportunities, further strengthening the pathway for athletes to reach higher levels of the game.
Congratulations to Emanuele Cocuzza from Juventus Academy DC and Sarah DeWitt from Maryland Rush on being recognized as 2025 EDP Soccer Promising Young Coaches! Their dedication to player development and passion for the game continue to make a positive impact on youth soccer. This honor highlights their hard work, leadership, and commitment to fostering the next generation of athletes. We look forward to seeing their continued success on and off the field!
