CONCEPTUAL//VERSATILE//ADAPTIVE

One must travel within one’s mind; the birth place of creativity

IN-APPROPRIATEPROJECT

One of the outcomes of pressure and norms is an immmense sexual energy within an individual. Throughout centuries, the most oppressed social groups were also the most creative sexually. .

Space re-appropriation is a practice through which one defines a given space through his actions. In parallel, Queer Architecture is about shaping new hierarchies, defining and modifying spaces of the common daily life. A sexual experience doesn’t need to be physical to occur, a stimulation of the mind and/or the body is sufficient.

CONCEPT&INTENTION

The space aims to provide enouh stimulus to the mind as well as the body without enclosing a defined singular function. The project consists of moments working either the mind, the body, both or none. Adjacent rooms are not necessarily connected. Some would be connected visually, others physically or from an auditive aspect. The choice of program is to put light on the hidden activities of our society and give a presence to the forbidden behaviors.

SEEN

In-Appropriate blends in the general plan of the city. As the back constitutes physical limits, the white represents spaces of potential social re-appropriation. One could think of the street, sidewalks, the little leftovers spaces between buildings etc...Resulting with great appropriation possibilities within the project illustrated by this particular architectural language which also shapes the vertical language of the project.

THEVOLUME

One must keep an open mind as perception is relative one’s state of mind... One must always be curious to look at

TOG(A)THER

Tresenda, Sondrio, Italy

Tog(A)ther aims to bring communities together through an appropriate town center located in Tresenda. The center acts as a meeting but also as a connecting point from the Tresenda train station to the river banks of Adda river. The project is strategically located along one of the main arteries of the department, including within its general structure the main link to the region, Tresenda train station. The project provides an open space for the center square that could cater a market for local products, a continuation of the existing bike lane, appropriate public car and bike parking spots, a public garden as well as a new design for the train station and bus stops, a reshaping of the existing sidewalks in order to create a completely closed, safe loupe for pedestrians. The project respects the existing green infrastructure by working with the land slopes and by preserving the vast majority of the areas covered by trees.

Sestola, Modena, Italy

By a gradual stepping, the plinth is create. The stepping reaches a height of about 6 meters. By peeling the edges, light can penetrate. The steeping allows the users to interact with the building since its accessible.

The tower follows the spirit of the stepping as no floor is exactly on top of another. Breaking the landscape allows to connect the city to the sea through a pedestrian path. The whole reminds of the movement of the waves.

Conneting the public floors of the tower to the landscape by pedestrian routes create a certain fluidity in the project.
