1) Advanced Cold Case Long-Term Missing Case Management Learn the dynamics of conducting long-term missing and cold case investigations. Uncover specific investigative techniques and best practices to improve the skills and capacities of law enforcement personnel assigned to long-term missing cases.

2) Advanced Investigative Strategies for Child Abduction Cases Understand DNA as an investigative resource. Explore legal issues, and computer forensics concerns in child victimization cases. Uncover the impact of human trafficking in child exploitation and use of cold case investigative strategies, data mining, and Fusion Center information acquisition in investigative lead development.

3) Advanced Undercover Chat Investigations* Examine all aspects of undercover chatting in a lab-based setting. Create undercover personas, learn chat tips and techniques, utilize mobile devices and applications in an undercover capacity, and preserve online evidence.

4) Basic Computer Skills for Law Enforcement* Learn basic computer skills to improve law enforcement responses to technology facilitated crimes against children.

5) Basic Forensic Response to Missing & Abducted Children Enhance the forensic skills of law enforcement professionals responsible for crime scene investigations including missing and abducted children cases. Topics include: preplanning, chain of custody issues/evidence security, crime scene identification and preservation, crime mapping and photography, trace evidence, finger/palm prints, DNA/body fluids, composite sketching/forensic art and electronic evidence. Participants will receive a free sixmonth Identi-kit license as part of this course.

6) Build-A-Course For more flexibility, AMBER Alert courses can be combined, modified and adjusted to build a customized training for your organization. For example, you may request a modified Child Exploitation course that blends 2 days of Digital Evidence and 2 days of Prosecution Strategies.

7) Canvassing, Search & Recovery Strategies for Abducted Children Gain critical skills needed to conduct effective canvassing investigations and operations. Learn effective search tactics and methods to recover abducted children.

8) Child Abduction Response Team Training (CART) Develop a multi-disciplinary approach for responding to a missing or abducted child incident. Learn how multijurisdictional relationships can improve the recovery of a missing or abducted child. A commitment from the CEO is required prior to placement in CART training.

9) Child Abduction Response Team Training – Certification Review standard policies and protocols to include: response criteria, team composition, notification protocol, communication, command and control, search operations, training, legal issues, equipment inventory, CART protocols, and recovery and reunification. Test the proficiency and capabilities of the CART program.

10) Child Abduction Response Team Training: New Members (CART-NM) Understand CARTs roles, functions and critical capacities in missing and abducted child cases. Examine key components and action items for CART operational readiness to provide rapid, effective and comprehensive response.

Gain perspective on the impact of CART programs and how to prepare new members for his/her role and responsibilities on the team.

11) Child Abduction Search Tactics – Field Training Learn strategies for determining search areas, assigning search responsibilities, search team make up, using volunteers, and search tactics including documenting search activities. Discuss tactical man tracking methods and K-9 techniques. Develop plans for an emergency action plan or organized search team.

12) Child Abduction Tabletop Exercise Test the organization’s response in conducting an initial investigation of a missing or abducted child using the Incident Command System (ICS). Employ strategies and responses in mitigating and resolving the emergency.

Participate in a multi-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional tabletop exercise, developed by the Department of Homeland Security.

13) Child Abuse and Exploitation Investigations Gather up-to-date information for the investigation and prosecution of all types of child abuse cases. Learn the importance of using a multi-disciplinary team approach when investigating and prosecuting child abuse, child sexual abuse, and exploitation cases. Identify the preferred methods of interviewing children and suspects, evidence collection, case management and current legal issues.

19) Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Develop skills and techniques for conducting developmentally appropriate forensic interviews of victims of child sex trafficking. Understand the differences you will encounter in a minor victim forensic interview. Examine victim-centered interview methodology and the factors contributing to child sex trafficking victimization, impact of development, and effects of trauma.

14) Child Homicide Investigations Learn the protocols of the autopsy, forensic essentials, and criticality of determining the cause and manner of death. Understand the unique aspects of interviewing, interrogation and the investigation of a child homicide. Review the suspect pool methods. Examine the prosecutor‘s role in gaining appropriate convictions.

20) Creating a Community Based Action Plan for the Prevention of Child Abuse Create a plan of action for preventing child sexual abuse of youth in their care. Learn the signs and symptoms of child sexual abuse, and mandated reporter or stakeholder responsibilities. Identify strengths and weaknesses of current prevention practices.

15) Child Sex Trafficking in Indian Country Understand, recognize, and investigate child sex trafficking and exploitation cases in Indian Country. Learn the dynamics of trafficking and exploitation to improve skills related to interviewing the victim and interrogating the trafficker. Focus on the survivor’s perspective and changing perceptions regarding trafficking victims.

21) CyberTip Management* Take an in-depth look at the NCMEC’s CyberTipline Program. Learn how reports are received, processed, and disseminated. Download and organize reports using CyberTipline Download Manager software.

16) Child Sex Trafficking: Law Enforcement Response, Introductory Module (CST-Intro) Obtain an overview of the onsite classroom training program, Child Sex Trafficking: Law Enforcement Response, the focus of the training, and the scope of topics covered during the 3-day course.

17) Child Sex Trafficking: Law Enforcement Response Understand, recognize, and investigate cases involving child sex trafficking and exploitation. Learn the dynamics of trafficking and exploitation to improve skills related to interviewing the victim and interrogating the trafficker.

Focus on the survivor’s perspective and changing perceptions regarding trafficking victims.

18) Child Sex Trafficking Recognition and Response for Tribal Casinos, Hotel and Travel Plazas Explore the types of human trafficking and the importance of recognizing domestic trafficking of tribal children. Learn about the investigative challenges of trafficking cases, as well as the importance of the victim interview and placement. Management security personnel at tribal casinos/hotels/resorts are encouraged to attend.

22) CyberTip Overview* Gain knowledge of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), CyberTipline. Examine a case study that lead to a federal indictment and subsequent guilty plea of a registered sex offender.

23) Digital Evidence in Child Exploitation Investigations Improve capabilities to conduct digital evidence preservation, collection, and analysis. Understand the role digital evidence plays in child abduction, exploitation, and child sex trafficking cases.

24) Domain Names Learn the basics of Internet host naming and how investigators may track information based upon domain names.

25) Following the Evidence in Child Exploitation Investigations Evaluate evidentiary findings through crime scene images, interviews and case studies. Learn the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach for the benefit of child victims and the prosecution of offenders. Minimizing bias and employing multiple hypotheses in child abuse and exploitation cases will be emphasized.

26) Griffeye Analyze ID (formerly NetClean)* Gather new tools that leverage “smart” image, video matching, and PhotoDNA to speed up the current forensic workflow of child abuse materials and focus on discovering, identifying and rescuing child victims of new production.

27) ICAC 100 e-learning Series* New investigators learn about tools and resources to assist in the investigation and prosecution of crimes involving child pornography and child sex trafficking.

28) ICAC First Responder* Explore the basics of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and internet domains, including finding IP address owners, domain name owners and domain name payment.

Discover the tools available for the investigation of cybercrimes. Learn more about wireless networks, seizing mobile devices, and legal issues.

29) ICAC Investigative Techniques* Explore basic investigative techniques for internet crimes against children in a lab-based setting. Review legal considerations surrounding ICAC investigations, case organization techniques, management practices used in proactive investigations, crime scene response, and management and suspect interrogation.

30) ICAC On-Scene Investigations* Learn how to conduct a thorough on-scene investigation in a lab-based setting. Examine how to locate and identify devices that have connected to a suspect’s wireless network and preserve that evidence. Understand on-site preview and the use of preview tools. Identify and secure mobile devices for later analysis, identify encryption, and examine the Cloud for indicators of evidence.

31) ICAC Undercover Concepts and Techniques* Gain skills in online ad and undercover investigations in this new course. Create undercover identities, produce and respond to ads made on Craigslist or Backpage, and explore chatting. Understand the theory of undercover operations so that the knowledge gained can be applied regardless of the venue chosen for contact with a victim.

32) ICAC Unit Supervisor* Rethink managerial, investigative and early intervention strategies to more effectively protect children online. Review emerging technologies and the current and prosecutorial issues associated with supervising an ICAC unit.

33) Interrogation Techniques in Child Exploitation Cases Learn advanced interview and interrogation techniques and strategies for child exploitation cases. Identify the cultural and legal issues investigators must consider during interview and interrogation. Understand the dynamics of the process and how to detect deception.

34) Interviews in P2P Investigations Review various interview styles, platform of issues and questions to address in a P2P interview, suggested interview flow or format, common expected answers and behaviors, and videotaped examples.

35) Introduction to Computer Crimes* Learn about cybercrimes, technology tools, legal considerations and the investigation of these crimes. Crime scene scenarios will be used to show you ways to investigate these types of crimes.

36) Introduction to Technology for Sexual Assault Investigators Review the technology being used for sexual exploitation, types of technology facilitated crimes against children, impact on victims, how technology is used by offenders, and new challenges technology is creating.

37) Investigative Strategies for Child Abduction Cases Understand, recognize, and investigate cases involving missing and abducted children. Determine scope and scale issues and how to manage a missing or abducted child case. Explore crime scene evidence collection and processing, profiling suspects and legal issues, search warrants, and interrogation.

38) Leadership for Missing and Abducted Children Explore scope and scale issues related to missing and abducted children. Examine an AMBER policy, elements of a comprehensive child recovery plan, a memorandum of understanding with other agencies, and how to engage or disengage the media on child abduction cases.

39) Leadership for Missing and Abducted Children in Tribal Communities Develop policies and programs that protect children in tribal communities from abduction, exploitation, trafficking, technology facilitated crime and other threats to the safety of Native American children. Understand Native American and Alaskan Native children victimization, policy development, child protection programs, accessing resources, planning and program oversight.

40) Major Case Investigative Teams Learn how major case investigative teams provide increased capabilities beyond any one individual agency.

Examine resource concentration, effectiveness, efficiency, secondary case clearance, networking, and politics of major case investigative teams.

41) Multi-Disciplinary Response to High Risk Victims Construct a multi-disciplinary response to high risk victims cases. Quantify the problem of sex trafficking locally, define the high risk victim and the correlation and commonalities between the chronic runaway, repeat victims of sexual abuse, and the child victimized through sex trafficking. Learn effective victim interview techniques and a 5-point strategy to combat the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC).

42) Multi-Disciplinary Team Response to Child Sex Trafficking Create action plans that focus on assisting victims of child sex trafficking (CST) and effectively prosecuting traffickers. Learn preferred practices, model programs, and resources that will most benefit newly formed and inexperienced child sex trafficking teams.

43) Multi-Disciplinary Team Response to Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Learn how to effectively combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC). Understand the importance of using a multi-disciplinary team approach in providing resources and assistance to CSEC victims when investigating and prosecuting traffickers of minor victims.

Identify preferred practices, programs and resources to generate and implement a custom plan of action.

44) Offender Characteristics* Identify sex offender characteristics and those criminals who offend against minors utilizing the internet, computers and other electronic devices to facilitate wrongful acts. Understand how offenders are using cyberspace to find victims, traffic contraband images, and shield themselves from identification.

45) Online Ads* Understand how online ads are being used to exploit children and how to investigate online ads in a lab-based setting. Receive instruction on how to post ads as part of a proactive investigation and examine advanced methods for identifying a suspect.

46) Online Protections for Criminal Justice Professionals Learn how social media is impacting criminal justice professionals who testify in court and/or work for a government agency. Review personal and professional use of social media and how to avoid professional embarrassment, discipline issues, or personal and family dangers.

47) osTriage* Learn how to conduct onsite examinations of live computer systems to find potential evidence and identify encryption on removable devices or in the Cloud.

48) Patrol First Response for Missing & Abducted Children (PATMAC) Provide tools and training to patrol and first responding officers who promote swift and decisive responses in the early stages of missing and abducted children cases.

49) Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Essentials* Review P2P terms and concepts. Learn the structure of Internet and TCP/IP communication protocols, IP address tracing, P2P networks and the RoundUp suite of tools.

50) Prosecutors Strategies for Child Sex Trafficking and Exploitation Cases (PSCT) Gather tools to prosecute child sex trafficking and exploitation cases. Explore investigative and prosecutorial strategies to prove the case while protecting the victim from further harm. Develop a strategy and handle pre-trial issues, including working with expert witnesses, preserving testimony, and responding to unexpected issues.

51) Seizing and Analyzing Mobile Devices Review cell phone and mobile device terms and concepts for understanding mobile device seizure and forensics.

52) Suspect Viewer* Examine a software program developed as a stand-alone utility and used by experienced P2P investigators.

53) Technology Dangers and Risks for Youth Discuss prevention and response strategies currently being used in schools, new social networking sites, evidence collection, working with cell phone providers, and the effects on sexting and cyberbullying victims.

54) Technology Facilitated Crimes Against Children Review technology used for the sexual exploitation of children, how offenders utilize various technology, and the challenges that new technology creates. Discuss the effects of sexual abuse on victims.

55) Technology Facilitated Crimes Against Children in Indian Country* Understand the dangers that technology poses to children in Indian Country. Learn investigative techniques to identify victims and apprehend offenders who use technology to exploit children. Interact with members of regional ICAC Task Forces and develop relationships for further cooperation and coordination of activities.

56) Telecommunications Best Practices for Missing and Abducted Children (TELMAC) Learn telecommunications best practices for supporting swift and decisive responses in the critical, early stages of incidents involving missing and abducted children.

57) TELMAC Train the Trainer Module Gather additional tools and resources in this follow-up to the Telecommunications Best Practices for Missing and Abducted Children online course. This training is for trainers who have completed the TELMAC Course.

58) Tools to Examine IP Addresses Learn about the tools used to examine IP addresses and further a network investigation.

59) Tracing IP Addresses Become familiar with the structure of the Internet, IP version 4 and version 6 addresses, and the use of this information to forward an investigation.

60) Understanding Cloud Computing Review basic Cloud Computing, compare Cloud v. traditional crime scenes, ID Cloud users and a case study.

61) Unexplained Child Death Investigations Utilize a scientific approach when investigating a child fatality. Review on-scene reconstruction, death causation, evidence identification, and interview and interrogation skills.

62) Victims of Child Sexual Exploitation* Analyze child sexual exploitation case examples and interviewing techniques. Learn more about the sexualization of children, cause and effects of sexual exploitation of children, the impact on the victim, child sex trafficking, and other forms of child torture.
