Amazing success We caught up with managing director, Lorraine Burnell once again, to discover the secrets to this amazing success and what the future holds for the company.

Lorraine explains: ‘For over 100 years Joseph Murphy has imported and sold hardware, homewares, DIY and agricultural products throughout Ireland.

‘Our extensive breadth of products is not confined to one category but rather diverse collections spanning from light hardware to agricultural, DIY, Garden, hand tools and seasonal products.

‘We believe that this is what makes Joseph Murphy an inspiring company to work with and has been the force behind our success.’

Integrated JMBL have just integrated a new software system (called SAP) for the management of all processes, enabling the flow of data and information through all departments of the business, from supply chain planning, to procurement and logistics.

‘This provides maximum flexibility and has allowed us to fully integrate all our systems with our new e-commerce website josephmurphy.ie.

‘JMBL is constantly developing their business model and services to compete in this new economy and the forefront of this change is customer-specific services that ensure our customers receive the optimal service possible’, explains Lorraine.

Purpose-built Operating from a purpose-built 40,000 square foot warehouse JMBL stock a vast portfolio of product ranges, stocking 4,500 product lines.

They continually develop new product ranges and own brands, such as MOY Agri and much more.

This August, sees a new way for their customers to place their order on their fantastic new Trade Only Wholesale e-commerce website, josephmurphy.ie.

Lorraine says: ‘We are so excited to launch our brand new website!

‘This will offer ease of ordering and a dedicated platform for our customers to do business at a time that suits their busy schedules.’

Exciting There have also been exciting appointments to the management team in recent months, namely Ciaran O’Neill, category manager and Aoife Gavin, marketing manager.

Ciaran O’Neill brings a wealth of experience with 25+ years in the wholesale industry.

Ciaran will be at the forefront of new product development and the sourcing of new product lines for JMBL’s 700+ customers.

Aoife Gavin is an experienced marketing manager working in a variety of industries throughout her career, including the retail and manufacturing sectors.

She will bring a new area of expertise to the company with extensive marketing experience in branding, digital marketing, advertising for both B2B and B2C.

‘Aoife and Ciaran will work closely together to bring new and exciting products to the market and it brings a new dynamic to our fantastic management team’, adds Lorraine.
