Fresh from the staggering fundraising success of The Glaikit Showman, Student Show is delighted to return to HMT. Scunnered by the shambles of Brexit, the Cooncil decides to go it alone, and sets Aberdeen up as its very own state. The decision is taken to appoint the city’s own Royal Family to preside over its glorious future. Plucked fae the gutting benches of a Torry fish house, our two Princesses, Annie and Elsie, find out that one of them has deeply hidden powers. The result? To turn the Granite City into an icy wilderness (or, at least, an even colder one than usual!).

Founded in 1980, Scott School of Dancing returns to HMT in 2020 to celebrate 40 years of success with their 18th show. We always say you never really leave Scott School of Dancing, and this rings true this year where we will see almost 40 of our amazing ex pupils aged from 20 to 50 take to the stage once more. This show will truly be a family affair with current students being joined on stage by their formerstudent mums and fabulous ‘Diva Dads’!

The internationally acclaimed BBC Big Band are joined by special guest vocalists, Emer McParland and Iain Mackenzie, to celebrate the music of the world’s most iconic movie franchise, James Bond. The concert features classic numbers including ‘Diamonds are Forever’, ‘Thunderball’, ‘We Have All The Time In The World’, ‘View to a Kill’, ‘Goldfinger’ and (of course!) John Barry’s iconic ‘James Bond theme’ ; alongside a selection more contemporary numbers from the James Bond library including Adele’s incredible Skyfall ... all performed in the BBC Big Band’s own inimitable style. Stepping In Digital Art Space Three new Stepping In commissions from Aberdeen Performing Arts and New Media Scotland’s Alt-w Fund with investment from Creative Scotland.

Assembly Charles Young is best known for his project Paperholm, where he designed and animated one tiny model building each day out of watercolour paper for one thousand days. His work explores ideas around the perception of space, imagination and memory. In this new series of HD animations, he has made a paper model of the Music Hall neighbourhood from various angles and scales and with a layer of invented structures and occupation.
