Les Bains de Lavey Do you want to bath in the hottest thermal water of Switzerland? Then come to the Lavey baths, next to St-Maurice!
Did you know? For the baths to be considered thermal, the water has to come from a natural hot water source, of which the temperature has to be above 20 degrees. This water comes directly from the depths of the mountains!
Open every day from 9am to 9pm (10pm on Fridays and Saturday). www.lavey-les-bains.ch +41 24 486 15 55 Les Bains de Lavey Route des bains 48 1892 Lavey-Les-Bains
Cycling/V.T.T
Nature
Walking Kilometers upon kilometers of marked trails that are adapted to all skill levels offer to hikers the possibility to discover the rich nature of the region.
Whether you prefer cycling, V.T.T., downhill or even tandem, you will definitely find what suits you. The installations and markings around the trails allow to cycle without fear. We recommend the cable car in Dorénaz, which leads to the summit of a very steep cycling track. Valais Roule offers a bike rental service through the plains.
Care pathway Nestled in the Martigny-Croix forest, this course defies the gravity and your physical capacity. The different posts that you will encounter along the trail will make you work all of your muscles. Are you ready to accept such a challenge?
Fishing Mountain lakes, rivers, canals, you have tons of choice to throw your hook in the water and have a great time. No permit? You can procure one without problem!
eXtreme
Canyoning At the Marécottes, you can face the river while letting yourself be carried by the natural slides and ziplines. Will you be courageous enough to jump up to 12 meters from the rocks?
Paragliding Fly above the bend of the Rhône with this feeling of being a falcon: it’s possible to go alone or with someone, but please contact an expert.
Climbing A heaven for the people who see a way up when others can only see a wall. This area is brimming with walls for different levels of skill. You can find one of the most prestigious Via Ferratas in Switzerland at Saillon. And for a workout all the year-long, discover Vertic’Halle at Saxon, the largest indoor climbing wall of Switzerland.
Scootering With your helmet secured, you take a deep breath… 3, 2, 1 and let’s go on a long downhill scootering course in the region. Don’t forget to enjoy the view!
Ski Alpin
Winter
Sledding Sledding is like candy, it’s very nice, for both children and adults! Whether on the sledding tracks in the Marécottes or Saxon, have fun!
At Ovronnaz or at the Marécottes, enjoy the facilities and the whitegold, and zip down blue, black or red slopes, throw yourself over bumps, but keep your energy, you will need it to enjoy the after ski at the end of the day. Martigny is within 30 minutes (by car) to 8 ski stations.
Skating
Hiver (following)
Whether a hockey player, or simply an ice skater, you will find yourself enjoying the skating rinks around the region.
Cross-country Skiing If skiing isn’t fun without a little more effort, go in the direction of Ovronnaz or the Marécottes to prepare your snow marathon.
Snowshoe At Ravoire or Trient, follow the pink signs for a walk in the nature that will leave you breathless.
Diving
Aquatic
If you are seeking a calm place, where you can be alone with yourself (with the exception of a few fishes), go discover the « Gouilles du Rosel », where you will possibly come across a nymph.
Stand up Paddle Are you capable of keeping your balance all the while standing on this board? If that’s too easy, try to make it more difficult by taking a selfie without letting your phone fall into the water.
Pools If swimming is your thing, from the crawl to the butterfly and the starfish, you have a vast selection of pools, both indoors and outdoors, Olympic or more natural. If you want an even more natural place, then you can opt for a mountain lake, but be warned, those places are without guards.
Windsurfing When arriving in Martigny, who could imagine that the town is one of the best spots in Switzerland for those who enjoy windsurfing? If you’re interested, you can go see for yourself at the « gouilles du Rosel ».
Classic Bowling Your hand trembles, and yet, if you manage a strike, you will win the whole game.
Badminton & Squash If you’re looking to let off steam, then you can opt for a racquet sports. It’s physically intense, but above all, it’s fun.
Beach volley Tennis You just got beat by your son for the first time in tennis, and it has to be that it happened during your holidays in Martigny.
Fields & Halls Looking for a place to play your favourite sport? Many facilities are available.
Feet in the sand with a breathtaking view of the Bâtiaz and the clock tower of the church, the beaches around Martigny are worth the detour.
Mini-golf Will you be able to master the ball, in this 18 holes course in the camping area of Martigny?
