Registration Information Program information including: dates, times, locations, and ages are included in this guide. There are three ways to register: on-line, by telephone, and in person. We accept cash, cheque, debit, and credit card.

How to Register On-line registration can be found on our website at www.martensville.ca, look for the ‘Program Registrations’ button. In person and phone registration will take place at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion; however we are closed August 8th-28th for maintenance. During this time we will only accept phone and on-line registration. We are located at 200 Mike Sands Boulevard and our number is 306-683-5576. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00am - 10:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00am - 9:00pm. Hours of operation for July and August are MondayFriday 8:00am-9:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-8:00pm. All registration fees must be paid in full when registering. We accept cash, cheque, debit, and credit card.

Refund Policy • • • • •

A refund request that is received ten (10) days prior to the start of course will receive a 100% refund. No reason shall be required.

A refund request received within 10 days of the course starting or once the course has commenced, and no more than 20% of the course is complete will receive a 50% refund.

After 20% of any course has been completed no refund shall be issued.

100% refund will be issued if the program is cancelled by the Recreation & Community Services Department.

A pro-rated refund will be issued under the following circumstances; - Medical reasons, a medical certificate will be required.

- Program class cancellations, where classes cannot be made up.

KidSport Martensville TM

What is it?

KidSport is a children’s charity dedicated to assisting children ages 5-18 of and families facing financial obstacles with the opportunity to participate in community sport programs. The primary goal of KidSport should be for ALL kids to play and have fun!

How Does the Program Work?

Individual grants of up to $750 are available per calendar year for children or youth up to the age of 18.

Application forms for KidSport are available at the MAP. How Can YOU Help?

Support KidSport through purchasing raffle tickets, attending events, purchasing cut outs or simply making a donation. Tax receipts are provided for any donation over $25.00. 100% of donations and fundraising proceeds support children right here in Martensville.

In 2021 Martensville KidSport received over 40 applications totalling over $12,500. Each year we see an increase in the amount of applications and unfortunately, we have not been able to fully fund all applications.

Please support Martensville KidSport this year so ALL kids can play!!

Jumpstart Help kids learn new skills, build confidence, and boost their self-esteem. Every dollar of your donation helps them get into the game. Jumpstart is a community based charitable organization that helps kids in need participate in organized recreational activities. This program will also help to fund equipment costs. The jumpstart application is on-line at https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/pages/individual-child-grants.

Intercommunity Development Group The Intercommunity Development Group consist of members from Martensville, Warman, Osler, Dalmeny, and Langham. The primary focus is to raise funds for children who wish to participate in arts, culture, drama, or recreation not covered by KidSport or Jumpstart.

Sask. Lotteries Community Grant The purpose of the Sask. Lotteries Community Grant program is to provide funds to local, non-profit and volunteer-based organizations whose sole purpose is to provide programs and services in the sport, culture, or recreation sector. The project or event must take place between April 1st and Mar. 31stof the following year. Applications are accepted in February each year.

Recreation Membership & Program Accessibility This program will offer a discounted rate on yearly recreation facility memberships at the MAP and city operated leisure programs for families and individuals whose income is below a certain level.

The discounted membership will be 50% off the original price of a yearly membership at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion. The discounted leisure program registration will be 80% off the original price of the city offered leisure program, up to a maximum of $200 per family member per year.

Families or individuals looking to apply for this program must complete the application form and provide all required documents. All information on the forms provided by the participants will be strictly confidential. Applications are available at City Hall and the MAP. This program is only for City of Martensville residents.

Toddler Programs Cupcake Decorating Workshops

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Make fun decorated cupcakes and take them home to share! Yum! A decorating class just for kids! All supplies are included. Sign up early because space is limited!

Ages 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult to help aid them with the decorating.

Rhythmic Gymnastics is a combination of gymnastics and dance movements using hand apparatuses such as balls, ribbons, streamers, and hoops. Gymnasts develop coordination, balance, rhythm, and teamwork in a fun and creative environment.

Learn to Skate

Sportball for Toddlers

Teaching basic skating skills through games, circuits, and creative expression. Angela is an enthusiastic instructor that will get your child up and gliding across that ice in no time! Helmets with protective face masks are mandatory.

This program focuses on physical movement and social exploration through an introduction of a different sport each class using developmentally appropriate games and activities. This is a parented class. Each child attends this program with ONE parent or guardian.

Mini Moves An activity-based program that teaches physical and social skills for pre-school children through action songs, games, and activities. They will enjoy playing with balls, parachutes, and using their imagination. Parent involvement is encouraged for the younger children.

Parent & Tot Skate An opportunity for you to come out and teach your toddler to skate. There is no charge, just come out and have some fun with your little one.

Sportball for Pre-schoolers This coach and child drop-off program provides children with an opportunity for independent learning and autonomy among other social and developmental benefits. Our trained and certified coaches introduce pre-school and elementary children to the fundamental skills behind 9 popular sports. THIS IS A DROP-OFF PROGRAM. Youth Programs Art Classes - Beginner

Basketball – Mini Dunkers

This class will be an exploration of art and an introduction to different mediums. Each child will learn techniques with pencil, charcoal, pastels, and acrylic paint. We will spend two weeks on each art form and complete a piece of art in each medium to take home. Students can pick from pictures provided to create their masterpieces! Each student will receive individual help to advance their abilities as they work on their artwork. Join us for some fun!

We are very excited to continue working alongside Warman to offer an exciting basketball program for our young kids. During this program players will develop a love for basketball, skill development, and lifelong friendships in a fun and recreational way. Grades K – 2 will practice in Martensville and play games in Martensville or Warman.

Art Classes - Intermediate Once you’ve mastered the art basics in my Beginner Art Class, you can move into the Intermediate Art Class. We will learn more art techniques like perspective and try out different styles in the same mediums as our beginner class. Our final project in each medium will be your choice and you will have several classes to complete it. Join us for some fun!

Babysitters Course One of our most popular and famous programs! This course is packed full of advice, guides, tips, and information based on real life experiences, from kids and experts in the know. The Babysitter’s Training program has tons of activities and handson practice to increase student confidence and provide skills needed to be the best babysitter possible. This course is 7 hours long so please send a lunch for their lunch break.

Ball Hockey The sport of ball hockey is a sport anyone can enjoy. Regardless, if you are a high-level ice hockey player or have never strapped on the blades, this sport is for you. During this program your children will learn passing, shooting, stick handling, and teamwork through drills, activities, and games. A Game for Everyone!

SMBA Basketball The Saskatoon Minor Basketball Association offers a development program for all ages. You can registrer for the 2022-2023 Fall/Winter League at https://leagues.teamlinkt.com/smba. Registration will be on-line only and closes August 31st. The league will run from mid-October to midMarch with a break over Christmas. Teams will practice in Martensville and/ or Warman but will play games in Saskatoon on Saturdays. We will need help with coaches for the teams. Please e-mail areddekopp@martensville.ca if you are interested in coaching or have questions regarding the program.

Spuds (Grade 3 & 4) - The spuds season runs from mid-October to midFebruary. The coaches referee the games, and the kids play 4 on 4. There are no play-offs for Spuds, so the season wraps up in February.

Minis (Grade 5 & 6) - The season runs from mid-October to Mid/End of February which is followed by playoffs in March. All teams make the playoffs and referees are provided for all games Bantam (Grade 7 & 8) - The season runs from mid-October to Mid/End of February which is followed by playoffs in March. All teams make the playoffs. All games are full court and referees are provided.

Family Night Out A great place to come to burn off some energy with the kids.

Choose from a variety of sports including basketball, badminton, pickleball, dodgeball, soccer etc. It is an open gym setting just come and choose what you would like to do. A great way to spend some active time with your family. Cash only.

Home Alone Plus First Aid Are you wondering when it’s safe to leave your child at home alone for a few hours before or after school or while you run errands? This entertaining four-hour child safety workshop is one of our most popular courses and is designed to prepare children to look after themselves during the times you aren’t there. Important skills are learned through interactive lessons and role play that help make both you and your child more confident when they are at home alone. First Aid for Kids teaches students how to respond to medical emergencies, such as cuts, burns, choking or broken bones.

Pickleball

Blended learning is a combination of in-class, face-to-face instruction with online instruction. Typically, theory and information are conveyed to participants outside of the classroom through an online component. This allows for the in-class component to concentrate on skill development and the application of theory.

Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Pickleball can be played as doubles or singles. Come try out this exciting sport. Games will reflect a recreational league-style play.

Possession and Acquisition License (PAL)

Floor Hockey A night out with friends, this recreational drop-in program will allow games that reflect a recreational league-style play. For more information contact Randy at psdjs@telus.net or 306-386-7701.

Line Dancing Line Dancing is a fun social activity, promoting exercise, helping to develop and/or maintain posture, balance, coordination, and memory. A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows. There are no partners and anyone of any age and gender can line dance. In the class, all participants will face the same direction, and execute the pattern of steps at the same time. Music of all genres – classic, country, pop, Latin, modern….; rhythms – waltz, two-step, polka, jive, Charleston, foxtrot, cha cha, rumba, swing, street dance, rap…

Any person wanting to possess a firearm in Canada must have a valid Possession and Acquisition License (PAL).

Steps to learn are walking, toe point, hook, heel splits, rock forward – back – side, weave, toe struts, triple step, hip bump, ¼ turn, ¼ turn jazz box, coaster step, forward shuffle, back shuffle, kick ball change, Lindy, skate, and scissor steps…..

High Beginner /Improver: Previous line dance experience and knowledge required. Steps and dance patterns and turns are simple/complex, with complex dance style and rhythm. Steps to learn are pivot turn, 1/4 Monterey, ½ Monterey, rolling vine, turning shuffle, diagonal shuffle, cross unwind ¾ turn, ¾ on spot turn, Sailor step, Sailor 1/4 turn, combination turns… Tags or restarts in music…

Intermediate: This is the most popular level of social line dance, and this classification will feature dance routines suitable for experienced dancers. Basically, dancers who have completed beginner and improver dance and mastered a comprehensive range of step patterns, body position/movements and dance rhythms. An intermediate routine is likely to feature interesting step combinations, pauses, syncopations, body movements, timing variations and styling. (i.e. Heel Jack, Apple Jacks, Vaudeville Step, Dorothy Step, Mashed Potato, Sailor 1/2 turn, Full turns, Hesitation, Pencil or Spiral Turns, Mule kicks, plus Tags, Phrases and Restarts in the music and dance)

Volleyball Leagues Martensville Volleyball Leagues are continuing to run this year. Register your team on-line, over the phone or inperson at the MAP for another great season! Our league is self-officiated, with 45 minutes games. Leagues will have 2 weeks of playoffs after a 20-week season. Times are tentative and will be determined once registration has been finalized and schedules have been made.

This class will incorporate different styles of yoga (and combinations of styles) during the 12 week session. Styles will include Chair, Gentle, Yin, and Yoga4Backs. It is a slower paced classes with attention to connecting breath. Modifications and variations will be given for students to go to their level of ease/challenge. This multi level flow involves linking several yoga poses together creating strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance.

Aqua Intense Are you ready to work? Our Aqua Intense class is designed for those looking for a serious cardiovascular and strength workout in the water.

We will challenge your balance and help you achieve the fitness goals you desire. NO swimming experience is necessary although comfort in the water is important.

Ball & Strength This class focuses on ball exercises and incorporates handheld weights.

It is a fusion of athletic, yoga, and pilates disciplines using the ball. This class will get your heart rate up but is more for muscular strengthening, core strength, and balance.

Bootcamp This class will be delivered in a fun circuit format with cardio and resistance partner drills and bodyweight exercises. It is an awesome way to enhance mental focus, cardio, strength, agility, coordination, and stamina for the ultimate bootcamp experience. No equipment required, bring your own mat and water bottle.

Pilates A system of exercises using resistance bands and body weight, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness.

POUND Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

Prenatal Yoga Prenatal yoga is suitable for all stages of pregnancy, this yoga class will use breathwork and gentle movements to help relax and prepare you for childbirth. Mats and props are available if needed.

Yin Yang Yoga Yin Yang is a blend of two styles of yoga in one practice. Yin poses are held for longer periods of time. Focus is on slowing down and working deep into the connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang is dynamic sequences (at preferred level of ease/challenge) and standing poses. Focus is on building strength, stamina, and flexibility. Mats and props are available if needed.

Zumba Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music that will make you sweat. Interval training at its best. Be prepared to ditch your normal workout and join the party. Featuring samba, meringue, reggaeton steps and more. Bring your water bottle and a towel.

This September, the City of Martensville is partnering with Diabetes Canada to join the third annual Lace Up to End Diabetes! Fall Monster Garage Sale – September 16th and 17th Our fall Monster Garage Sale is back and will take place on Friday Sept. 16th and Saturday Sept. 17th! The registration fee is $5 and includes your address listed on the flyer along with the map of Martensville, balloons, and a Monster Garage Sale sign. Flyers will be available for pick up at gas stations, the MAP, and City Hall. This event will be advertised through local papers and social media to guarantee a great turn out! Regional Race – Run and Ride September 24th The Regional Race: Run or Ride is back! This is a unique race between the City of Martensville and the City of Warman. A beautiful 10km route between two sister communities through the country is a great walk/run for anyone. Kicking off in one city and connecting to the other. Come take part in our annual Regional Race September 24th! For 2022 we will be starting in Warman and ending in Martensville.

Fall Geocaching – October 3rd – 10th You cannot miss this exciting outdoor experience for all ages!

Geocaching is the real-world treasure hunt that is happening right now, all around you. There are over 2,500,000 active geocaches and over 6 million geocaches worldwide. The coordinates and a clue for the first geocache of our multi-cache event will be released on the City of Martensville Facebook page. You will have one week to find all the hidden geocaches around the city using any GPS device for a chance to win a family prize.

Halloween at the MAP – October 28th Come out October 28th from 6:00pm-8:00pm for an evening of spooky fun at the MAP. Dress up and enjoy some Halloween themed games, crafts and activities. Sip N Shop – November 24th 4:30pm-9:30pm The Martensville Sip N Shop will begin at 4:30pm and run until 9:30 at the Northridge Centre, offering the opportunity to shop for gifts after work while enjoying a few beverages, rather than during the busy weekends! This event grows each year, so you won’t want to miss out on all the exciting selling and shopping opportunities. We will start taking registrations from local vendors on August 18th. Registrations will be taken over the phone or in person at the MAP. On September 19th, we will open registration to all vendors. Make sure to register early to secure your spot. Play & Skate with Santa – December 11th Play & Skate with Santa will take place on Sunday, Dec. 11th at the Sports Centre from 1-3pm.

Recreation & Community Services Kinsmen Park With over 100 acres of green space located in the heart of the City of Martensville, Kinsmen Park is Martensville’s destination park. From sport activities to casual leisure enjoyment, Kinsmen Park is a great meeting place for family and friends.

Amenities include a three-kilometer lit pathway system that connects directly to the City pathway system, 9 hole disc golf course, 2 outdoor fitness pods with 11 pieces of equipment, park benches, picnic shelter, toboggan hill, 3 tennis courts, full size outdoor basketball court, playground, community garden, Kyle Syrenne Skate Park, fishing, and gazebo.

Kinsmen Park is also home to the new pump track, Martensville Slo-Pitch diamonds and connected to the Martensville Athletic Pavilion, Mocon Baseball fields, North Ridge Community Centre, multi-purpose sports fields, the Martensville Aquatic Centre, and three additional ball diamonds.

Bench Dedication & Tree Planting Programs The Bench Dedication and Tree Planting programs were implemented for the purpose of providing benches and trees along the community walking paths, parks and designated boulevards. These benches and trees may be purchased through sponsorship, advertising, memorial or for a commemorative event or a person. Pump Track The City of Martensville is very excited about this new facility that opened in the summer of 2021. It is a great facility that is connected directly to the Kyle Syrenne Skatepark.

So what is a Pump Track?

• A pumptrack is a course containing hills and berms that are ridden by “pumping” with your arms and legs to propel yourself forward rather then pedaling or pushing.

• It allows for good riding conditions rain or shine, and is good for all wheels as well!

• If it has wheels, it can be enjoyed on this track. – Bikes, Scooters, Boards, Blades, Wheelchairs, Striders • It promotes a healthy, active outdoor lifestyle.

• It allows for opportunity to engage with others who would not typically engage in a teamsport setting.

• It teaches balance and coordination which are useful tools for any sport.

• They are fun!

Recreation & Community Services Cemetery The site is located east of Martensville at the south-east corner of Township Road 384 and Range Road 3052. Phase I of the cemetery includes 296 casket lots, 282 cremation lots, half of which can accommodate two cremated remains. Phase I also includes a columbaria section where remains can be stored. The cemetery will be operated out of City Hall. Anyone interested in a cemetery lot may call 306-931-2166 to inquire about the purchase of lots. The cemetery design, bylaws, floral and monument regulations, and information on licenses and fees are available at www.martensville.ca.

Outdoor Pickleball & Tennis Courts The City of Martensville has three outdoor tennis courts located in Kinsmen Park and five outdoor pickleball courts at the outdoor rink located at the Sports Centre. Pickleball Nets will be set up Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am-3:00pm.

Off-Leash Dog Park The off-leash Dog Park is a year-round park located south of 10th Ave S. This is the only area in Martensville that permits dogs off leash. Patrons are reminded to obey park rules which are posted at the entrance to the park from the parking lot. Users of the Off Leash Dog Park will find a large open space for dogs to run as well as pathways within the treed area of the park.

Residents can access the park by vehicle and by foot using the pedestrian bridge off the paths behind Glenview Cove.

Lions Park Lions Park is located at 416 6th Avenue South and is a popular park for family gatherings, with plenty to offer for young and old.

Since 2013, this park has featured a Spray Park with 17 different spray features and concrete basin.

The Spray Park opens the first weekend in June and runs until the Tuesday after the September long weekend. Hours of operation are 10:00am-8:00pm. Another feature of Lions Park is the newly constructed gazebo. The gazebo provides needed shelter and an area to host family outings or special events. Plenty of green space is also available for a variety of games.

Martensville’s New Multipurpose Recreation Facility The City of Martensville, partnering with the Martensville Community Recreation Project (MCRP), is set to deliver a phased facility to meet the ever-growing demand for more ice and indoor field time. Where will it be? The new facility will be located on the west side of Martensville and anchor the newest subdivision slated for Martensville. Trilogoy Ranch will be a 680 acre residential and commercial development slated to be builit out over the next 25 years, be home to an additional 10,000 residents.

Community-Driven: $2.8M Raised + $3M Land Value • In addition to the City’s $6.5M commitment, the MCRP and a group of community volunteers have raised $2.8M to date for this facility! A HUGE thank you to the people who have worked tirelessly towards the new facility - your dedication, your passion and your efforts have driven this project. You make the community stronger and will make this dream a reality.

• Land for the facility is also being provided in the Trilogy Ranch subdivision and valued at over $3 million.

Toddler Time Frenzy This event was a hit last year, so we are going to bring it back!! Shake off those cold weather blues and bring your little ones to our Toddler Time Frenzy at the MAP!! We will have our Toddler Time toys, a Bouncy Castle, and some extra fun activities for the kids. We will also have coffee and treats for all the caregivers. Cost is $5/child and will be held at the MAP on the first Thursday of the month from November - April.

Need to get your toddler out of the house for a while? Toddler time is an open gym time with a variety of equipment and play apparatuses. At this program parents/caregivers share with their children the importance of play in a fun and interactive setting. Indoor footwear or socks are required, and all food must be consumed in the lobby area. Juice, coffee etc. can be taken on the court if it is in a travel mug or water bottle.

Fitness Area The fitness area consists of 4 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, 6 bikes (spin, upright, and recumbent), a cable cross machine, ab machine, leg curl, leg extension, pec fly, leg press, and chest press. Children under 12 are not permitted in the Fitness Area. Children aged 12-14 must be supervised by an adult when using the Fitness Area.

Seniors Walking and Pickleball (55+) We are excited to be continuing our Seniors Programming at the MAP. Come for some fitness, socializing, games, laughs, and good times. Use our fitness center, play pickleball, badminton, or just walk. There is something for everyone.

Local Service Groups MCRP - Martensville Community Recreation Project The Martensville Community Recreation Project is working to provide a new rink and multi-sport recreational facility in the City of Martensville. We host multiple events to raise awareness and funds, which go directly towards that goal.

Local Service Groups Martensville High School - 150 Mike Sands Blvd – 306-931-2230 Martensville High School is the home of the Royals and a place where we believe all students can be selfmotivated, empathetic, confident, critical, and reflective learners who are prepared for their next steps in life. In the fall of 2015, students and staff at Martensville High School moved their operations into their state-of-the-art new building. The spacious facility is full of natural light and numerous unique learning spaces. The school has at its center a 300-seat performing arts theatre as well as a music room. In addition, the school is directly connected to the incredible Martensville Athletic Pavilion. The original part of Martensville High School received a thorough renovation that included significant upgrades to the Practical and Applied Arts areas. Martensville High School has a population just over 550 students in grades 9 through 12. The school offers a rich spectrum of academic and vocational classes including apprenticeship program credits. Students at MHS can participate in all major SHSAA sports programs and a variety of extracurricular clubs.

Martensville Curling Club We are getting ready to welcome everyone to another fun filled season of curling at the Martensville Curling Club for 2022-2023. We are anticipating another great season!

We are excited to announce that we are working on hosting some events that feature many well-known competitive curlers. These events will take place in September and early October. More details will be announced once dates have been finalized.

Our regular league play will get underway the latter part of September/first week of October. If you are interested in entering a team, here is a summary of our leagues/nights: • Monday Night - 6:45pm Open League • Monday Night - 8:45pm Mixed Doubles League • Tuesday Night - 6:45pm Modified Mixed League - must have 1 member of the opposite sex on the team • Tuesday Night - 9:00pm Social League • Wednesday Night - 6:45pm & 9:00pm Men’s League • Wednesday Daytime - 1:00pm Drop In League - sign up for individual games, a portion of the season or the whole season. 574 “Dakota” Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron Air Cadets is a national program for young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who are interested in participating in a variety of fun, challenging, and rewarding activities while learning about the Air activities of the Canadian Armed Forces. 574 Dakota Squadron serves Martensville, Warman, Dalmeny, Osler and area.

We enjoy many activities at Air Cadets including survival weekends, sports weekends, range, and much more. The Cadet program helps youth develop into wonderful young adults and instills communication & leadership skills, discipline and service to others, which form the makings of a great citizen.

Cadets also learn valuable life and work skills such as teamwork, leadership, and citizenship.

Sask Central Victim Services Inc. Sask Central Victim Services Inc. is a police-based program that provides confidential assistance to victims of crime and traumatic events. Rocky Ridge Model Railroad Club Our club is small, but we are an enthusiastic and growing group interested in model railroading. Local Service Groups Martensville New Horizons Seniors Martensville New Horizons Senior Centre invites anyone 55 years of age or older to join and become members of the centre. Meet new friends and greet old friends. We enjoy potluck meals every Monday at 5:30pm and sometimes we save the cooks and enjoy a catered meal. After the meal there are usually a few people playing cards, some challenging each other to pool, shuffleboard, or board games.

Coffee is every Wednesday morning at 10:00am, everyone welcome, you do not need to be a member to come enjoy a cup of coffee and visiting. There is an AED Defibrillator on the premises, and we have purchased an electrostatic cleaner for sanitizing.

The senior’s hall is available for rent. This helps maintain our expenses. For Hall rentals contact Karen Skwark at 306-921-9066 or Lovina Bischler at 306-931-2759.

Our season starts in September and ends with a BBQ in June. Membership is $50/year.

Some activities subsidized with the grant from Saskatchewan Lotteries are: out of town bus trips to the Spa at Watrous or Moose Jaw, RCMP museum in Regina, the Wheatland Express Train Excursion from Cudworth to Wakaw, the Prairie Lily, local school plays, the Barn Playhouse, MAP memberships and sometimes musical entertainment after the meal.

We are grateful to the Affinity credit union for their support and a donation towards kitchen upgrades.

Skate Martensville Become part of Martensville’s skating family. Skate Martensville is an association dedicated to the principles of enabling individuals to participate in skating for fun, fitness and/or achievement. If you want to introduce your children to a healthy life-long sport or just for them to learn how to skate, Skate Martensville is for you!

CanSkate is Skate Canada’s learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners of all ages. The CanSkate program focuses on fun, participation, and basic skill development. CanSkate participants earn badges and other incentives as they learn fundamental skating skills. CanSkate lessons are given in a group format led by our NCCP certified coaching staff using teaching aids, music and activities that create a fun environment and promote learning. CanSkate packages are available to skate once or twice per week.

A Pre CanSkate program is available for skaters aged 3-4 with no skating experience. Children must be 3 as of November 1st.

STARSkate program is for those more advanced skaters wanting to move into figure skating. Skate Canada’s STARSkate program offers opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate, and interpretive skating.

STARSkate lessons are led by our NCCP certified coaching staff and are offered in group and/or private lesson format. STARSkate lessons occur on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays after school.

ADULT Skate is a skating program for adults of all skating levels. From beginning to experienced skaters, all are welcome to come out and have some fun!

Skate Martensville’s skating season will run from October to March and will run until our Carnival/Year End Ice Show at the end of March.

Registration will be online at www.skatemartensville.ca. Registration for all our programs will be opening August 2nd at 12:00pm.

A CanSkate Parent Information night will be held on September 20th, 2022, in the Upper Mezzanine at the Rink beginning at 7:00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet the board coaches and ask any questions you may have.

Martensville Information Centre Canada Day in Martensville!!

This year is Canada’s 156th birthday, and we are excited to celebrate with you!!

Check out the 15th annual Canada Day celebrations right here in Martensville!

We are already busy planning a great day!! There will be lots of great FREE activities for all ages. The day kicks off in the afternoon, starting with an Art Show and Community History Showcase closely followed by activities, crafts, games, scavenger hunt and more. To add to this, cupcakes and ice cream are served to the first 100 people. The event will continue into the evening. We also hope to have guest appearances and entertainment throughout the day.

The feature event of Canada Day in Martensville is the fireworks display and the Cinema Under the Stars – a GIANT 3 storey inflatable movie screen in Martensville. Once again, the Martensville Information and Visitor Centre is working hard to get a BRAND NEW animated movie, one that is so new that it’s still in theatres and won’t be available on video yet. Pack your vehicle, bug spray, blankets, lawn chairs and join the fun!

This fun filled one day event takes a lot of preparation and there are many jobs, big and small, that can only be accomplished with the help of volunteers. We are always looking for volunteers to help with planning this event and to help throughout the day. Our goal is to celebrate our nation’s birthday right here in our own community. We still need help with planning games and activities, finding grants and sponsorships, gathering prizes, and finding people to help on Canada Day!!

There are opportunities to partner with the Martensville Information Visitor Centre and become a vendor at our event and celebration here in Martensville.
