Learn to Jog

A class for everyone, especially for those with joint ailments or injuries, get fit with this challenging water workout. After a gentle warm-up in the calm water, you’ll ease into the exercises using your own body weight.

An indoor program progressing to the goal of jogging 3 kilometres at your own speed. We begin with a warmup walk of 5 minutes, a 10 minute stretch, a combination of walking and jogging intervals for 35 minutes and a 10 minute cool down and stretch. Absolutely no competition and do everything at your own level. Bring a water bottle, small towel and indoor shoes.

Bootcamp

Mommy & Me

This class will be delivered in a fun circuit format with cardio and resistance partner drills and bodyweight exercises. It is an awesome way to enhance mental focus, cardio, strength, agility, coordination, and stamina for the ultimate bootcamp experience.

This class is for Moms & Baby to have some fun and exercise at the same time. You won’t even notice that you are strength training and doing cardio at the same time. Come join the experience.

Flow Yoga

Yin Yoga

This vinyasa-style flow involves linking several yoga poses together creating strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. A focus of connecting breath to movement will relax and calm the mind. The classes will effectively work all parts of the body in an environment of nonjudgement and non-competitiveness. Classes involve a warm up, work-phase and cool down. Come prepared to sweat! All levels welcome.

Yin yoga is a gentle practice focused on releasing areas of chronic tension within the body. Holding poses for longer periods allows you to get deep into the body’s connective tissues. Yin practice is designed to relieve stress and stimulate deep muscle release and relaxation. This style of yoga is beneficial for those at all levels but can be especially helpful for those who prefer a less vigorous class and for those experiencing chronic pain and tension. Yin yoga is also a great compliment to regular yoga classes.

Gentle Fitness for Older Adults This gentle fitness class is perfect for seniors and persons with limited mobility/flexibility or may be overweight or out of shape. Exercises include basic strength training, light cardio, and some stretching to improve balance, stability and flexibility. Each class will include a variety of seated and standing exercises and some floor work. All exercises can be modified for anyone who needs to remain seated for the entire class.

Zumba Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music that will make you sweat. Interval training at its best. Be prepared to ditch your normal workout and join the party. Featuring samba, meringue, reggaeton steps and more. Bring your water bottle and a towel.

Gentle Yoga Practice the form of the basic yoga postures while allowing yourself to experience a gentle, slower-paced class. This class brings an extra focus to your breath, relaxation, and tension-releasing postures while creating movement, strength, balance and flexibility. Great for those wanting to learn the basics of yoga and those wanting to move towards a deeper practice. All levels are welcome.

Aquatic Centre Information Private Lessons

Set I: August 10-21 Monday-Friday - 10 Lessons

Private lessons are a way to personalize your lesson to suit the needs of any swimmer. They are a good option if your swimmer has only a few items left to complete a level, needs feedback and correction on certain strokes or just needs one-on-one time with their instructor to build confidence. Private lessons can be booked as a one-time clinic session or can be used to complete a level. If you are trying to a complete a level, a minimum of five private lessons must be purchased at time of enrolment. The instructor may request additional lessons if they are unable to meet the goals of the swimmer in the time provided.

Local Service Groups MCRP - Martensville Community Recreation Project As a volunteer-led charity, the Martensville Community Recreation Project (MCRP)’s main goal is to provide a year-round multipurpose recreation facility for the residents of Martensville and our surrounding communities. Our young and growing community is in dire need of a new facility for ice and turf sports. The lack of a suitable and accessible recreational facility impedes our children’s and adults’ participation in their healthy physical activity of choice. We believe in a Martensville where all can play and be active in a facility that is truly the heartbeat of our community. Thanks to incredible community support, we’ve raised more than $300,000 for this facility over the past 5 years, through our 4 annual events that combine awareness, fundraising and, of course, fun: • NHL Hockey Draft - Sunday, April 5th, 2020 • TUFF Run - Summer 2020 Date TBA • Martensville 3 on 3 Hockey Tournament - 1st 3 weeks in September - Registration starts at the end of April. This sells out every year with 320+ athletes playing! • Cabaret and Dance - Fall 2020 date TBA. Check out our website and Facebook for photos of our October 2019 80’s Night! We’re working alongside the City of Martensville and groups in our community to build this dream of a new recreational facility. Information, updates and facility floor plans are found on www.mcrp.ca or on Facebook @MartensvilleCRP/. You - our incredible community - have supported the MCRP and propelled the City towards moving forward with Phase One of a new recreational facility. We are well on our way. However, we need more help! Please visit us at www.mcrp.ca/donate to lend your support or contact us to learn how you can get involved. The need, the vision and the plan are clear. Our community is ready and the time to build is now. Please support this vision at www.mcrp.ca/donate. Charitable tax receipts are available.
