Jocelyn Ottenbreit/MM The 2021 Tim Hortons Curling Trials took place at SaskTel Centre from November 20 to November 28. A total of nine men’s and nine women’s teams took to the ice looking to come out on top with a gold medal. The winning men’s and women’s team also earned themselves a spot at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.
For the women, it was the Jennifer Jones rink, which consisted of third Kaitlyn Lawes, second Jocelyn Peterman, lead Dawn McEwen and fifth Lisa Weagle. For the men, it was the Brad Gushue rink, along with third Mark Nichols, second Brett Gallant and lead Geoff Walker. Both teams donned Team Canada jackets and were emotional over their win, already preparing to represent their country at the Olympics.
