Council Sets 2019 Mill Rate & Levies

2019 Property Tax Levies were approved by City Council at the April 2, 2019 Regular Council meeting. Levies were established to meet budgeted revenues and are in line with the 4% increase to property tax revenue approved in the City’s 2019 Operating Budget. The budget was previously approved by City Council at the February 19, 2019 Regular Council meeting.

Property owners will receive their 2019 Tax Notices in the coming weeks, along with updated assessment notices if there have been any changes to the valuation of their properties. Increases will affect all properties differently dependent on assessment values.

The average residential property owner in Martensville can expect to see an increase in their property taxes of $107.91 over 2018 or $9.00 per month. The average commercial property owner will have an increase of approximately $279.66 or $23.32 per month. $30.00 of this total increase to all property owners is attributed to the Garbage & Recycling Levy. This is the result of a 3% increase in garbage and recycling pick-up costs from Loraas as well as account administration, back-lane cleanup in the fall, and increased costs to maintain and monitor the City’s grass clippings site.

On March 20, 2019, the Government of Saskatchewan’s Budget for 2019-2020 was released, and it was confirmed that the education mill rates to be levied would remain unchanged from 2018. Those rates are 1.43 mills for agricultural property, 4.12 mills for residential and 6.27 mills for commercial/industrial. The City of Martensville levies and collects education property taxes (EPT) on behalf of the province and remits monthly.

Drinking Water Quality and Compliance 2018 Notice to Consumers

The Water Security Agency and the Ministry of Environment requires that at least once each year waterworks owners provide notification to consumers of the quality of water produced and supplied as well as information on the performance of the waterworks.

The 2018 Annual Notice to Consumers is available on Martensville.ca under Public Notices. If you have questions about the report or water quality assurance, please contact Martensville City Hall.

City Considers Alternate Options For Yard Waste Dump Site Due to Improper Useage Shanine Sealey, Martensville Messenger

The City of Martensville held their monthly Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, April 9th. The meeting consisted of two public hearings for businesses looking for a discretionary use approval; Soul Power Fitness and Baydo Development.

Both requests were taken to the public for a chance for residents to voice their concerns; however, no negative feedback was received. It was recommended that both requests be approved by Council, and they will be brought back to a future meeting for formal approval.

Next, Sgt. Rob Eyre of the Warman RCMP presented statistics comparing January to March from 2018 to this year’s numbers. In total, there has been a decrease in total calls for service for 2019, which Eyre was pleased with. Eyre also noted that the RCMP would be hosting a town hall meeting in Warman on April 17th at 7pm in the Brian King Centre. This will be the only town hall meeting held by the Warman RCMP this spring. Eyre noted that speeding has been an issue on 10th Avenue South and on 3rd Street North, so police presence will be increased in those areas. Additionally, with warmer weather on its way, bike patrol and motorcycle patrol will be out and about.

Matt Gruza, Director of Infrastructure and Planning, provided information about proposed changes to the City of Martensville yard waste dump, which is located at the entrance to the lagoon property. This location provides the residents of Martensville a place to take the grass clippings, leaves and tree branches. The area is not monitored and despite numerous attempts to inform residents of the rules, there is still dumping of garbage, not removing bags, dumping of mixed material, dumping of materials from Warman and Saskatoon, and contamination of the site with elm branches. Gruza noted that “as a result of the elm contamination, the trees and branches need to be burned for safe disposal, which leads to complaints from residents about the smoke.” Gruza stated that there have been conversations about having a summer student on site to monitor the location; as well as previous discussions about having a surveillance system in place.

Both solutions come with their own issues however. Additionally, another option would be to close the site completely and instead have bins located at a City owned property, which would be available 24/7 and monitored by cameras. Gruza will be providing more information at an upcoming meeting regarding pricing for this suggestion.

Landscaping or Working on your Property This Summer? - Things you Should Know

Access to Private Property Through Open Spaces Bylaw Due to damage to City property and failure to remedy damages; the City has created the Access to Private Property Through Open Spaces Bylaw. The City Traffic Control and Waste Bylaws have also been rewritten to set the provisions to access private property through City land.

Access to Private Property Through Open Spaces Bylaw 2-2016 Permit required Any person or businesses that will be driving a vehicle or equipment over city open space to access private property are now required to apply for a permit prior to gaining access.

Section 6 (2) No person shall carry on the following activities in an open space area without a permit: (a) leave or store personal property; (b) set up a temporary shelter, tarp, canopy or other such device; (c) drive or arrange for a vehicle or equipment to be driven through an open space area; Traffic Bylaw – Dumping of Materials Dumping of material onto city streets is not permitted, any material must be placed on the owner’s property unless permission is granted by the Director of Infrastructure and Planning or designate. Any person or any business who will be conducting work on or around city streets must setup a safe temporary traffic control zone.

Section 4 (f) Any person or company responsible for construction, construction equipment, or material within the highway/street must setup a safe temporary work traffic control zone. At the request of the Director of Infrastructure and Planning or designate a written work zone traffic control plan may be required prior to approval for installation and setup.

Waste Bylaw 18-2015 Work sites must have a bin/truck on site to dump their waste material into, so as to not leave material scattered around the work site or piled on the road way.

Construction Waste 48. (1) Any owner or contractor carrying out the construction, alteration or demolition of a building, structure or landscaping on any property shall: (a) place all waste into a waste container or enclosure; For further information or questions about these bylaws or to see what you need prior to starting a project, please contact City Hall 931-2166

Chamber of Commerce Donates to Beautification of Martensville Business Community Shanine Sealey, Martensville Messenger

The Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce (PSCC) presented a cheque for $1000 to the City of Martensville during the 2019 Martensville Business Expo.

This donation will be used towards the City’s beautification project and will purchase five large plant pots that will don the PSCC logo. Businesses within the community can in turn purchase one of these pots, which the City beautification committee will fill with an assortment of colourful flowers. It is then up to the business to maintain the plants.

“The Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce is excited to be able to contribute to this project and in turn increase the beautification of the business community within Martensville. We are always looking for ways that we can come together with both the City of Martensville and the City of Warman to celebrate business within the region,” PSCC Executive Director Jaimie Malmgren explained.

This project was planned to coincide with other celebration initiatives planned within Martensville to honour the anniversary of the community first becoming a town, and later becoming a city.

Martensville Business Expo Gets Positive Feedback From the Community Shanine Sealey, Martensville Messenger

The Martensville Business Expo took place April 5th from 5pm-8pm and April 6th from 9am to 3pm at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion. The event was hosted in partnership between the City of Martensville and the Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce (PSCC) and included approximately 100 vendors. Businesses from Martensville, Warman and surrounding areas participated in the event and had a chance to provide those that attended with more information about the services that they offer.

The Expo featured a wide variety of options, with something offered for all ages; from food, to kid’s entertainment, to products to purchase, music, educational opportunities and much more.

“Overall, the feedback from those that attended, as well as the vendors were positive. I think everyone enjoyed themselves, and it provided a great opportunity for not just the local residents to learn more about the business community, but for the businesses to network with one another,” Jaimie Malmgren, PSCC Executive Director, stated.

Many of the attendees took part in Expo Bingo which led them to vendors throughout the building to get their bingo cards stamped. Once stamped, they were entered to win prizes that were donated by vendors that participated.

The Martensville Business Expo committee will be meeting for a review of the event, and will discuss ways to modify the event for next year. “Our goal with every event that we host is to grow and to improve upon it for future years,” Malmgren noted.

The PSCC and City of Martensville would like to thank everyone that participated in the event, including the Martensville & District Kinsmen Club, the 574 “Dakota” Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, Martensville High School, Travis Blanchard, and all of the Expo sponsors.

Once considered merely an optional travel luxury, smart phones have become an essential tool for any trip. Even if you prefer to “disconnect” while on vacation, there is no denying the practical advantages provided by modern technology. Travellers no longer need to rely on unwieldy, outdated guidebooks for information or maps, and thousands of reviews at your fingertips essentially provide word-of-mouth recommendations without having to make small talk with every Estonian backpacker you run into. Here are some of the most useful apps to download before your next trip:

PackPoint - This handy packing app can help narrow your focus and organize your packing list to make sure you take everything you need without redundancies (that 3rd pair of underwear) or overpacking (toothpaste). It even uses destination and climate data to provide specific recommendations.

SkyScanner / Google Flights / Kayak / Expedia / Hopper - Ok, I’m cheating a bit here, but the point is that you shouldn’t limit yourself to just one app or website when looking for flights. Yes, there will be many duplicate results, but more often than you’d expect they come up with different alternatives, and prices also fluctuate to a surprising degree. Hopper rarely provides the best option but it does use historical data and forecasting algorithms to predict the best time to purchase your flights.

AirHelp - Every country has specific rules regarding passenger compensation in the case of overbooked, delayed or cancelled flights. However, the vast majority of passengers have no idea what those rules are or what they are entitled to, meaning airlines are rarely forced to comply. AirHelp provides all the details and helps you initiate the process, although they can’t do much about those back spasms you got while sleeping on the floor at Pearson International.

Google Maps - Many people already use this app, although many don’t realize just how effective it can be while travelling. The public transportation directions are constantly improving and the ability to download map areas for offline use means you don’t have to worry about having wifi or phone data to navigate. Plus, those who are a little more tech-savvy can actually use the My Maps feature to create their own specialized versions that include personal points of interest.

CityMapper - This slick app takes all the available public transport options and condenses them into a fast, effective travel planning tool. It will even provide prices and allow you to compare alternatives.

TripCase - Planning a trip can be time-consuming and confusing and even once you have worked out all your flights, hotels and transportation, keeping track of them can be a nightmare. Apps like TripCase help you organize everything into your calendar for easy reference and monitoring without judging you for booking the Toy Story theme room even though you aren’t travelling with children.

Sidekix - This steadily expanding database offers destination advice, attraction reviews and itinerary suggestions for a wide variety of cities all over the world. The best part, however, is that it also includes all of this useful info in handy map form and provides detailed walking directions to help you plan your excursions and ensure you won’t miss a single novelty snow globe retailer.

HotelTonight - Obsessive planners who book their hotels months in advance won’t find this particularly useful but if you’re one of the “fly by the seat of your pants” types, this app can help you find big discounts on last-minute rooms, or at least help you minimize the number of nights spent sleeping on dodgy park benches.

Google Translate - Those of us who hail from Western Canada aren’t accustomed to language barriers but in much of the world even the simplest communication can prove tricky (such as Alabama). Google Translate has been getting faster and more accurate all the time, and using the terrific photo feature in foreign grocery stores can mean the difference between sprucing up your baguette with some delicious butter or ruining it with a lump of cooking lard.

TrailWallet - This a great app for tracking your cash and helping you keep your spending in check while on the road. It is fast and efficient and can be used to plan your budget, monitor your spending or summarize things after the fact.

Nice features like average daily spending and individual categories make it easy to understand where all the money went and help you plan more accurately the next time around, although we found it to be very little help when it came to making smart decisions regarding additional rounds at the pub.

The federal carbon tax has now been forced on Saskatchewan, adding uncertainty for individuals, families, businesses and communities. From the gas station to the grocery store and all across the province, Saskatchewan people are now being forced to absorb higher costs on just about everything including our power and energy bills.

The federal government is even charging GST on their carbon tax – in effect taxing a tax. You won’t find PST on top of the federal carbon tax which will start appearing on your monthly utility bills, but those SaskPower and SaskEnergy bills will include a clearly detailed charge that reflects the new tax, and the GST on top of it.

On this and so many issues, the NDP is completely out of touch. Not only do they applaud the federal carbon tax, they don’t like the fact we are making the added costs on your bills known to you. So not only would they force this tax on you, your family, and job creators, it’s clear their preference would be to hide it from you too.

While Saskatchewan is fighting the Trudeau carbon tax in court, it’s now the law and the province needs to comply. Not paying the carbon tax is not an option, even though SaskPower and SaskEnergy are owned by you, the people of Saskatchewan.

The Government of Saskatchewan has been clear in its court challenge that we believe the imposition of the federal carbon tax is a violation of the Constitution and has no place in our province. We have repeatedly asked the federal government to stop this forced carbon tax until the court has reached a decision – but they’re not listening.

We will continue to fight the federal carbon tax, while continuing to act on our made-in Saskatchewan Prairie Resilience climate change strategy, an effective plan to help our province address climate change. If we win this court case, we will make every effort to return all the carbon tax money charged through SaskPower back to Saskatchewan people where it should stay in the first place.

Manitoba has now joined our government and will be launching a legal challenge of the federal government’s decision to impose a carbon tax.

88 per cent of Saskatchewan people support the fight against the carbon tax, which raises an important question – why doesn’t the NDP? The Saskatchewan NDP has supported the Trudeau carbon tax from the very beginning. Their leader Ryan Meili is on the record saying he applauds the policy and has reinforced his support for a carbon tax on numerous occasions.

The federal government’s own numbers show a $4 billion cost to Saskatchewan residents out to the year 2022 will result in only a 0.6% reduction in emissions. This places tremendous costs on families and on our export-based economy.

While Ryan Meili and the Saskatchewan NDP stand and applaud Justin Trudeau, your Saskatchewan Party government will keep fighting this unconstitutional carbon tax, and are hopeful that it will soon be struck down in the courts. We will keep standing up for you, your family, and your jobs, and most certainly against the job-killing Trudeau carbon tax.

COMING EVENTS As of Monday, April 8

The NHL regular season wrapped up on Saturday and the Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin on April 10th with five games. The President’s Trophy winning Tampa Bay Lightning will kick off the post-season as they face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tampa Bay won all three meetings between the two in the regular season quite handily (8-2, 4-0, 5-1). This may be the best bet for a first round sweep but this is the playoffs and the best team in the regular season hasn’t fared well in recent years.

The 2013 Chicago Blackhawks were the last team (and only the 8th ever) to have the best record in the regular season and go on to win the Stanley Cup. The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders will be the next series to get underway in the East. Like I said last week, these two teams were extremely close to each other in the regular season and split their games with both teams winning twice.

The Western Conference side of things gets started with the St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets. The Jets limped into playoffs with a 4-5-1 record in their final ten games while the Blues were one of the hottest teams down the stretch winning 8 of their last 10 games. If those trends continue and Blue’s rookie goalie Jordan Binnington doesn’t get playoff jitters, St. Louis has a chance at a deep run in these playoffs. The Nashville Predators won their last three games of the regular season to come out on top of the gong show that is the Central Division. They will host the Dallas Stars in round one. Nashville won the regular season series 3-2 with two of their wins coming in overtime.

This looks to be another long, tight series.

The final game on opening day sees the Vegas Golden Knights clash with the San Jose Sharks. Both teams managed just three wins in their final 10 games on the season but a feud has already started between the teams. If you are looking for a chippy series, look no further. The remainder of the teams will begin the playoffs on April 11th with a first round rematch between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins. Last year’s battle was a long and hard seven game series and this year looks to be no different. The final series of the East has the defending champion Washington Capitals taking on the young gun Carolina Hurricanes. Washington won all four meetings between the two in the regular season but don’t think winning the next four will be as easy. Carolina will no doubt make this a great series and a tough one for the Capitals. The final series for the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs starts April 11th and has the best in the West Calgary Flames facing the Colorado Avalanche. Calgary won all three match-ups this season but they are hoping to get their goaltending situation figured out. The Flames need one solid starter in the Playoffs rather than flipping back and forth between David Rittich and Mike Smith. With the end of the regular season there are a few awards that we already know the winners of. Nikita Kucherov won the Art Ross Trophy with the most points in the NHL at 128.

Alexander Ovechkin won his eighth Maurice “Rocket” Richard trophy as the NHL’s leading goal scorer with 51 goals. Last but not least the New York Islanders goaltending duo of Thomas Greiss and Robin Lehner grabbed the William M. Jennings Trophy for fewest goals allowed with 196.

Federal Carbon Tax Won’t Work

There is one big, legitimate reason to oppose the federal Liberal government carbon tax that came into effect the first day of this month. It may not work for anyone in this country and it certainly is unlikely to work for us out here in broad, flat prairie. Maybe Premier Scott Moe’s government hasn’t done enough to find solutions that will work to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, but what seems evident is that what the federal government has put before us is not the solution, either.

You have likely heard push back about how carbon pricing is the most effective way to reduce GHGs and how B.C. has had a carbon tax for some time without affecting the economy. Whether it’s really worked in B.C. is a point of debate, but there’s something more important: Prime Minister Justice Trudeau’s carbon pricing policy is not B.C. carbon pricing policy and, for a myriad of reasons including the fact that B.C. is not the same as the Prairies, is unlikely to work here.

It all comes down to whether it’s likely to achieve its stated goal of bringing about the desired change in behaviour. A four-cent-a-litre gas hike is annoying, but it’s not going to cause anyone to sell their F-150s and buy something more fuel efficient, especially when you have Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna touting that most will get close to what they will pay in additional fuel costs back on their income tax rebates.

As the per tonne carbon price increases to as much as $50 a tonne by 2022, so will the government rebate which negates any incentive to change behaviour.

On the last day of the month vehicles lined up a gas station to avoid that paying that extra four cents a litre.

One supposes, the federal government would point to this as a first step in the changing behavior, but in the course of the last month, the average gas price in Saskatchewan increased from $1.03 a litre on March 1 to $1.20 a litre on March 31. That this massive gas cost hike wasn’t causing Conservative leader Andrew Scheer to tell us to fill up our tanks says much.

It certainly tells us that there’s been a lot of politically driven hysteria over the four-cent-a-litre carbon tax. But that a 20-cent-a-litre increase isn’t causing people to trade in their trucks and vans tells us that maybe gas prices aren’t the only issue and, again, all that federal government rebates will likely accomplish is offsetting the new costs of filling your tank.

Admittedly, Saskatchewan people haven’t always had the best perspective on the need to address the GHG issue.

Those who stubbornly cling to a view that today’s climate change is not manmade aren’t helping.

Bodies like NASA agree with the 97 per cent of published peer-reviewed journals from scientists that say global warming is caused by human activity.

We do need a better plan than to simply scream about Trudeau and the tax. We do need a broader, science-based approach to addressing GHGs, but Ottawa also needs to recognize the reality of living in Saskatchewan, which means a lot of long drives between sparse communities, often in cold, winter months.

That means reducing our carbon foot print is not as simple as taking public transit like you can in the cities; nor is it simply solved by buying an electric car. We burn coal to produce most of our electricity here. We’ve already invested $1.6-billion in carbon capture and storage to attempt to reduce our GHGs and McKenna and the federal government have sung the praises of CCS. We need to find approaches that work.

A gas tax hike isn’t likely the right approach.

Two Vehicle Accident in Martensville Results in DUI Charges April 2, 2019 at 5:15 p.m. Police received a complaint of a 2 vehicle accident on Baycroft Drive in Martensville.

Police attended the scene with Martensville Fire. A male youth received minor injuries in the accident.

Police spoke with the 32 year old male driver of one of the vehicles from Martensville. He was arrested and taken back to the Detachment to provide a breath sample. He was released a short time later on documents for an upcoming court date on Impaired Driving charges.

Possible Impaired Driver Reported April 3, 2019 at 10:20 p.m. Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 11 north of Martensville.

Police located the vehicle and spoke with the 57 year old male driver of the vehicle from Black Lake. He was not impaired. There were no charges.

Several Complaints of Possible Impaired Drivers Results in Charges April 5, 2019 at 11:15 p.m.

Police received a request from Corman Park PS to assist with a possible impaired driver. Police arrested a 43 year old male from Langham. He was taken back to Detachment to provide a breath sample.

He was released a short time later on documents for an upcoming court date on Impaired Driving charges.

There were no injuries.

April 7, 2019 at 1:45 a.m.

Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 12 near Martensville. Police made patrols, but were unable to locate the vehicle. A short time later the vehicle was located in Warman. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the 21 year old male from Saskatoon.

He appeared that he had consumed alcohol. He was taken back to the Detachment to provide a breath sample. He was released a short time later on documents for an upcoming court date on Impaired Driving charges.

There were no injuries.

Complaints of Mischief at Several Businesses

Intoxicated Male Located on Hwy 11 Arrested April 4, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

Police received a complaint of an intoxicated person walking on Highway 11 near Warman. Police located the 47 year old male from Hatchet Lake First Nation and arrested him for being intoxicated in public.

He was lodged in police cells overnight until he was sober.

April 4, 2019 at 11:10 a.m. Police received a complaint of mischief at a business near Warman.

The caller advised that someone entered the business the previous night and stole a number of items. Investigation into this matter is ongoing.

April 4, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Police received a complaint of mischief at a business near Martensville.

The caller reported that someone entered their compound overnight and cut some cable.

Investigation into this matter is ongoing.

Investigation Continues For Damage to Fence on Reimer Road April 6, 2019 at 8:30 p.m. Police received a complaint of damage to a fence on Reimer Road in Martensville. Police attended the location and found that an extensive amount of damage was done to the fence.

Investigation into this matter is ongoing.

Local Lion’s Club Celebrates 40th Anniversary

The Martensville & District Lions Club celebrated their 40th anniversary on March 31st; however, they did not celebrate the same way that most would. Their celebration stays true to what the Lions Club is all about, and will consist of them giving back to the community.

After hearing feedback from the local residents that attend the Martensville Spray Pool in Lion’s Park about not having an escape from the sun’s rays beating down on a hot day, the Lions Club decided to celebrate their milestone anniversary by having a gazebo-like structure built to provide shade and protection from the sun.

“The structure will be built within the spray park area, as there have been numerous complaints to the City about people getting sunburnt and not having a place for shade. We plan to host a grand opening event and a BBQ later in the summer,” Doug Ward of the Lions Club explained.

The Lions Club approached Martensville City Council to request help with financing the project, which would in turn be paid back by the organization over a number of years. The proposed budget for the project is an estimated $25,000 to $30,000.

The Lions Club was first initiated in 1917 and has since grown to over 1.3 million members in 188 countries.

The motto of the organization is “We Serve”, and those involved are dedicated to helping and providing services to people that need assistance, and have disabilities. One example of this is that the Lions Club provides Dog Guides for those that require them free of charge, through various fundraising efforts.

The Martensville & District Lions Club began in 1979 and throughout their time in the community, have hosted a wide variety of fundraisers, and provided assistance for numerous residents, charities and the local schools.

A familiar face to many in the community is Syl Serblowski, who is one of the original members of the local Lions Club. “Langham and Warman were the sponsor clubs and from there, some guys got together to create another club here in Martensville. The Lion’s building that we currently use came from the rink area and was once used as the outside rink change house. It had to be moved quickly, so they asked us if we would be interested. That was an exciting moment for us,” Serblowski said.

The Lions Club has been a welcome addition to Martensville, and many have benefited from their contributions; whether it be through them raising money to help provide playground equipment for École Holy Mary Catholic School, donating a TV to the residents of the Golden Sunset Villa, raising money for Martensville KidSport or hosting a fun afternoon of bingo.

Currently, the Lions Club is busy selling raffle tickets for the annual KidSport Playhouse raffle. The draw will take place on July 4th. Additionally, they are busy planning for their annual Walk for Dog Guides, which takes place in approximately 300 communities throughout the country. This year, the walk will take place on May 26th in Lion’s Park at 416 6th Avenue South.

Conceptual Plan For Martensville Multi-Purpose Facility Unveiled Shanine Sealey, Martensville Messenger

The Martensville Community Recreation Project (MCRP) hosted their annual hockey draft fundraising event on Sunday, April 7th. During the event, representatives from the MCRP, the City of Martensville and MLA Nancy Heppner took a moment to reveal a conceptual plan for the proposed multi-purpose facility for Martensville.

With the current Sports Centre under a high demand for usage as the community grows in population, it has become clear to many within the community that a new facility was a much-needed addition to the community, so for ABOVE: Members of the MCRP (green shirts), MLA Nancy Heppner, Martensville City Councillors Mike Cox, Darren MacDonald and Deputy the past five years, a group of local volunteers Mayor Tyson Chillog were excited to unveil the conceptual plans for the Martensville multi-purpose facility. (Facebook) have worked tirelessly to organize and host Martensville Deputy Mayor Tyson Chillog was also in attendance to speak to the numerous fundraisers throughout the year, with all proceeds going towards funding for a crowd about the City’s involvement in the project, explaining that in the fall, there was a multi-purpose sports facility within the community. The goal of these devoted individuals is total of $6.5 million set aside for the facility. “The City is done talking, and I think it is the same – to provide a year round multi-purpose facility for the residents of Martensville now time that we walk the walk. The City’s work is not done and we will continue to look and its surrounding area to enjoy, which would provide space for a wide variety of sports for funding for the future phases,” Chillog said. After thanking the MCRP for their five organizations. years of dedication towards this project, Chillog also noted that, “we would like to thank
