We accept the following forms of payment: • Cash • Cheque • Debit • Credit Card All registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Reasonable care is taken to ensure that the information and listings in this guide are up-to-date and accurate at the time of publication. However, some program dates, times, or locations may change depending on registration numbers.

Registration Opens Monday, August 10th at 9:00am

Refund Policy • A refund request that is received ten (10) days prior to the start of course will receive a 100% refund. No reason shall be required.

• A refund request received within 10 days of the course starting or once the course has commenced, and no more than 20% of the course is complete will receive a 50% refund.

• After 20% of any course has been completed no refund shall be issued.

• 100% refund will be issued if the program is cancelled by the Recreation & Community Services Department.

• A pro-rated refund will be issued under the following circumstances; - Medical reasons, a medical certificate will be required.

- Program class cancellations, where classes cannot be made up.

KidSport Martensville TM

What is it?

KidSport is a national children’s charity dedicated to helping kids aged 5-18 overcome financial barriers so they can participate in community sport programs. The goal: for ALL kids to play and have fun!

How Does It Work?

• Individual grants of up to $750 per calendar year are available.

Jumpstart

What is it?

Jumpstart helps kids in need participate in organized recreational activities while also offering assistance with equipment costs. This national program helps children learn new skills, build confidence, and boost self-esteem.

Intercommunity Development Group

This regional funding group includes representatives from Martensville, Warman, Osler, Dalmeny, and Langham. Our purpose is to support children who wish to participate in arts, culture, drama, or recreation programs not covered by KidSport or Jumpstart.

Sask. Lotteries Community Grant

Our purpose is to provide financial support to local, non-profit, and volunteer-based organizations delivering sport, culture, or recreation programming.

• Eligible projects must take place between April 1st and March 31st of the following year.

• Applications deadline is February 28th each year.

Recreation Membership & Program Accessibility This program offers discounted rates on recreation memberships and leisure programs for Martensville residents whose household income meets eligibility criteria.

Discounts Offered: • 50% off yearly memberships at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion (MAP) • 80% off registration fees for City-offered leisure programs, up to $200 per family member per year How to Apply & Eligibility: • Applications are available at City Hall and the MAP • Applicants must provide required documents • All personal information will remain strictly confidential • Available only to City of Martensville residents

Books & Babies

Irish Dance Class

The FREE program focuses on developing early literacy skills through movement, poems/rhymes, songs and a story and provides time after the program to play and socialize. It is a great way to meet other caregivers and babies in the community and develop a support network. This is a registered program for caregivers & babies up to 1 year of age. There are Tuesday or Wednesday program sessions. Program starts @ 10:30AM. Registration is required to attend the program. Call the Martensville Library 306956-7311.

With over 20 years of dance teaching experience and many years of competitive dance experience, Megan and Gillian bring extensive knowledge, technical expertise, and a passion for helping dancers reach their full potential.

NEW Grow & Go Outdoor Club Join us for some FREE programming this summer in our local parks and facilities! This program is designed for kids 6 and under to attend with their grownups. Each week will be at a new location to showcase the many wonderful parks and facilities martenville has to offer. Check the City of Martensville’s Facebook page for event details.

Activities can include gymnastics, fun with bubbles, and play days.

Thank you to the SPRA Framework in Action Grant for funding this summer initiative.

Irish dance classes offer a high-energy, full-body workout rooted in rich Celtic tradition. Known for intricate, fast footwork and a controlled upper body. Dancers of all ages learn coordination, discipline and rhythm through upbeat, fun tradition and modern Irish music. Our classes offer the opportunity to learn cultural dances, group dances and solo dances in a fun and inviting atmosphere.

Dancers are encouraged to wear black bodysuit, black skirt, socks, soft shoes or hard shoes.

Learn to Skate Glide into fun! This program teaches basic skating skills through games, circuits, and creative play. Angela’s energy and encouragement will have your child skating with confidence in no time! Helmets with protective face masks are mandatory.

Parent & Tot Skate Lace up and hit the ice with your little one! This free drop-in session is a great way to introduce your toddler to skating in a relaxed, nopressure environment. Just come out and have fun!

Gymnastics This parent and tot class oozes with fun, and fundamental movements! We learn different locomotion, balances, and rotations.

We also learn safe landings and safe ways to fall. We incorporate songs and games into our lessons and encourage parent participation, which the littles quite enjoy. Truly a wonderful activity to bond with your child! This class uses the CanGym program from GymSask. The Toddler Gymnastics Program is being subsidized by the Get Moving Grant through the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA).

Join us every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for a fun and social stroller walk for parents, caregivers, and little ones at the MAP. Enjoy the light exercise and connection with other families in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Parent & Tot Learn & Play Workshops Join us on select days at the MAP during our popular Toddler Time, to come out and learn about your child’s development, tips and tricks, and other fun workshop presented by knowledgeable professionals in several different fields. Workshops will include pre- and postnatal exercises, music and babies’ classes, children’s nutrition, sleep patterns, and more. This program is possible through the Get Moving Grant through Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA).

Play & Learn with Mobile Early Learning

Toddler Time

Mobile Early Learning will be at the Martensville Library with their mobile indoor play program. This FREE drop-in program helps you connect with your child through play and participation in fun activities that help prepare your child for school. The program is designed for ages 1-6, but all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. Drop-in on select dates.

Let the little ones play! This open gym time is packed with fun equipment for toddlers to explore while caregivers engage in interactive play. Don’t forget your socks or indoor shoes.

Sportball Multisport – Age 2 (Parent & Tot) Play, move, and grow - together! This parent-child class introduces a new sport each week through fun games and activities designed for toddlers. It’s a great way to get active and bond. One parent/ guardian per child is required.

Toddler Time Frenzy Back by popular demand! This monthly indoor event at the MAP is full of fun for toddlers with bouncy castles, ride-on toys, and more!

Just $5 per child. There are juice boxes and grab-and-go snacks available for the kids as well! Join us on the first Thursday of the month (October–May) and let the frenzy begin!

Youth Programs

After School Program

Babysitting Course

Looking for something fun to do after school in the fall? Join us biweekly on Tuesdays from 3:30pm - 5:00pm for an exciting after-school program designed for youth in Grades 6-10. Hosted at the MAP, each session introduces participants to the many extracurricular opportunities available in our community while providing a fun, welcoming space to explore new activities.

Gain the skills to be a responsible and confident babysitter! This engaging course covers everything from basic first aid to toddler care, safety, emergency prep, and behaviour management. Includes hands-on activities, discussions, and a certificate upon completion. Bring lunch, a teddy bear, and a notebook!

Throughout the program, participants will have the chance to explore activities led by local sporting associations, community groups, and school clubs. From trying new sports and recreational activities to enjoying STEM challenges, cultural activities, board games, and other hands-on challenges, every session offers something different. Whether you’re looking to discover a new hobby, learn a new skill, or simply spend time with friends after school, our After School program is a great place to get involved.

Archery Try archery in a fun and safe environment! This beginner class teaches proper stance, aiming, and shooting technique, along with range safety and basic rules. No experience needed.

Equipment provided. Perfect for anyone looking to learn a new and exciting skill. This program can be adaptive to fit all needs and abilities.

No skates? No problem! Ball Hockey is fast-paced and fun for all skill levels.

Kids will learn passing, shooting, stick-handling, and teamwork through drills, activities, and game play. Great for ice hockey players and beginners alike. Helmet with cage and gloves are required.

Basketball – Mini Dunkers We’re excited to once again team up with the City of Warman to offer a fun and energetic basketball program designed just for our youngest athletes!

Mini Dunkers is all about introducing kids in Grades K–2 to the game of basketball in a fun, recreational, and supportive environment. Players will focus on developing fundamental skills, gaining confidence, and building a love for the sport, while making new friends along the way!

Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or already loves the game, Mini Dunkers is the perfect way to get active and have fun!

Participants will learn about range safety and rules while learning and practicing Archery. We will be working with each individual at their own skill level.

All equipment is provided. We use high-quality Genesis training bows in our classes. You are welcome to bring your own equipment. The camp will be both inside and outside, and is for children 8-12.

We will spend 4 weeks working in watercolor, creating several projects and 4 weeks working in acrylic paint, on both paint paper and canvas. Students can work from pictures or objects they bring from home or choose from a selection in class.

We offer several levels to match your experience: Absolute Beginner: Absolute Beginner introduces fundamental footwork (like the grapevines, V-steps, and basic step-touches) at a slow, encouraging pace. Everyone is welcome to join, and everyone entering the facility must pay the entry fee. Drop-In Programs Include: After School Drop-In (Ages 8 - 17) - A great way for kids and teens to stay active after school. Ages 8 and under must be with an adult.

Drop-In Basketball - Flexible, casual time for games or skill-building. Selfregulated by participants.

Drop-In Volleyball - Two nets available for games or practice. Self-regulated play for all skill levels.

Open Gym / Drop-In Sports - Use the space for practice in sports like basketball, futsal, volleyball, pickleball, badminton, and more. (Pickleball and badminton nets provided; volleyball nets will not be set up during this time).

Parent & Tot Stroller Walk - Enjoy the light exercise and connection with other families in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

On August 20, 2026, at approximately 8:45am, Martensville RCMP received a report of a suspicious package being delivered to a local business, the Martenville Messenger.

Jocelyn Ottenbreit reported that a suspicious package was delivered to the business along with a cryptic note. The contents of the package included a cross with the bottom carved into a sharp point, that looked like it had blood on it.

As she showed police the contents, she also mentioned that there have been notes addressed to them all summer from the same person, Gabriel VH. As police took her statement, they found out that six other letters have been delivered to her. At the time she assumed it was some kids playing a prank, but when she received the last one, she knew that this was serious.

The letters she received are as follows: June 17th: “Make sure he doesn’t find the key.”

June 22nd: “Beasts of the night are under his control.”

July 10th: “He is known by many names, but he is known for his cruelness and bloodlust.”

July 12th: “Under any circumstance, do not invite him in” July 25th: “The sun is your friend; you cannot stop him in the night.”

August 19th: “It may already be too late, do not let him find the key.”

Jocelyn stated she did not think much of the letters as they either have misspellings or strange punctuation throughout. For example, on each one under the signature there would be a weird symbols and the letters would highlight, capitalize, or italicize words, seemingly at random.

The last correspondence that they received was on August 20th, which included the cross and the message “He is coming. He is coming.”

RCMP are now looking into this incident, and all evidence has been taken to the detachment. *This is a fictional story for the sole purpose of Escape Martensville.*

Kids Triathlon: August 30th Join us for the first-ever Splash, Pedal, Run Kids Triathlon presented by Craven SPORTS Services in Martensville on August 30, 2026. The race will begin near Mocon Fields and finish at Kinsmen Park, near Cones! This exciting community event encourages kids to get active, have fun, and experience the thrill of a triathlon in a safe and supportive environment. Parents can accompany their children along the race!

Race Details: Participants will be divided into the following age categories: Ages 3–5 | Ages 6–8 | Ages 9–12 Each athlete will complete up to a: - 500m run - 25m swim - 600m bike ride The race will start at 10:00am with check-in taking place at 9:30am prior to the race.

For the registration fee of $15 per child, participants will receive a finishing medal, race bib, and post-event snacks All proceeds will go directly to support Warman, Martensville, and Area KidSport. Registration is now open!

Outdoor Pickleball & Tennis Courts The City of Martensville has three outdoor tennis courts located in Kinsmen Park and five outdoor pickleball courts at the outdoor rink located at the Sports Centre. Pickleball Nets will be set up Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00am-3:00pm May-September weather pending.

Kinsmen Park With over 100 acres of green space located in the heart of the City of Martensville, Kinsmen Park is Martensville’s destination park. From sport activities to casual leisure enjoyment, Kinsmen Park is a great meeting place for family and friends. Amenities include a three-kilometer lit pathway system that connects directly to the city pathway system, 18 hole disc golf course, 2 outdoor fitness pods with 11 pieces of equipment, park benches, picnic shelter, toboggan hill, 3 tennis/Pickleball courts, full size outdoor basketball court, playground, community garden, fishing, and gazebo.

Kinsmen Park also features the Kyle Syrenne Skatepark, a Pump Track, and the Martensville Slo-Pitch diamonds. It is connected to the Martensville Athletic Pavilion, Mocon Baseball Fields, North Ridge Community Centre, multi-purpose sports fields, the Martensville Aquatic Centre, and three additional ball diamonds.

Cemetery The site is located east of Martensville at the south-east corner of Township Road 384 and Range Road 3052. The cemetery includes 296 casket lots, 282 cremation lots, half of which can accommodate two cremated remains. It also includes a columbaria section where remains can be stored.

Lions Park is located at 416 6th Avenue South and is a popular park for family gatherings, with plenty to offer for young and old. The park features a Spray Park with 17 different spray features and a concrete basin. The Spray Park opens the first weekend in June and runs until the Tuesday after the September long weekend. Hours of operation are 9:00am-9:00pm. Another feature of Lions Park is a gazebo. The gazebo provides shelter from the weather elements and an area to host family outings or special events. Plenty of green space is also available for a variety of games.

The Lions Park Playground includes rubber surfacing and a variety of equipment, including accessible swings. The park also includes a Playtop Street iOval. The iOval is an interactive rubberized play area programmed with a variety of games designed to challenge as well as enhance coordination and collaborative play.

Off-Leash Dog Park Located on 10th Ave S, this is Martensville’s only designated off-leash area. Enjoy open space and treed pathways year-round. Residents can access the parking lot by vehicle via the alley off 8th Street South and by foot using the pedestrian bridge off the paths behind Glenview.

Pathways/Walking Trails Martensville features over 10 km of lit, paved pathways that connect our parks, schools, and neighborhoods, stretching from the south to the north of the city. Crews will be out clearing the pathways so you can stay active during the winter months!

Martensville Minor Hockey Association The 2026/2027 Minor hockey season has begun with over 450 players registered ranging in ages from 5 17. This season we have over 30 teams representing our hockey association.

This past year we saw our male and female athletes continue to enjoy a lot of success with several players making their debuts in the WHL,SJHL, PJHL, USPHL, SMAAAHL and go on to begin college hockey opportunities! MMHA works hard to make hockey inclusive for all and to ensure that every player who wants to play this great game is given that opportunity.

The Martensville Minor Hockey Association is a group of volunteers dedicated to the growth and development of young athletes through the game of hockey. We want to thank all of the coaches, managers and community partners as well as SaskLotteries for their support. Because of these great people and organizations our program is successful, and each player is given an opportunity to play the sport they love! MCRP - Martensville Community Recreation Project The MCRP is very proud of our contribution to our City’s new Martensville Community Recreation Centre, which opened in October 2024. The MCRP was formed in 2014 with it’s sole purpose being to bring a new recreation facility to our area. Our group is ecstatic seeing the doors opened and this amazing facility serving Martensville and area!

574 Dakota Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets 574 Dakota Squadron meets every Thursday (Sept – Jun) at the North Ridge Centre in Martensville from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

Servicing the Martensville, Warman, Dalmeny, and Osler areas, we are a youth program for those between the ages of 12 and 19 years of age.

Air Cadets participate in a variety of activities such as survival weekends, sports weekends, range, gliding/power flying and much more. The Cadet program helps to develop today’s youth by instilling communication & leadership skills, discipline, and service to others, which are the basis of a great citizen.

The aim of the Air Cadets movement is to: • develop good citizenship and leadership • promote physical fitness • stimulate an interest in flying

2026-27- Martensville Curling Club We are getting ready to welcome everyone to another great season of curling at the Martensville Curling Club for 2026-27. Our volunteer board members are hard at work in the off-season, working on some improvements & some big events for the upcoming season.

The ice will be installed early this year (August) for high-performance camps, kids’ camps & Women in Curling, which will be held in August/ September. Martensville Pickleball Club The Martensville Senior Pickleball Club, as its name implies, is a group of seniors who come together to play pickleball for fun and recreation. The games provide an opportunity for light exercise with a high importance placed on friendships and socializing.

Club members currently play during Senior Drop-In times at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion, from 12:15pm 3:15pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

In the spring and summer months, we enjoy outdoor play at the new outdoor courts next to the Martensville Sport Centre.

Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis and can be played as doubles or singles. We welcome players of all skill levels. Periodic training clinics are offered for both beginners and more experienced players.

Martensville Food Pantry The Martensville Food Pantry is a registered charity made up of a group of volunteers who help families and individuals obtain food stability in Martensville and area. We also collaborate with the SPCA in distributing pet food.

We are located in the Civic Centre (across from 7-11) and make up hampers every Wednesday for those requests received by Tuesday 6:30pm. Requests can be made every 2 weeks. There are also shelves and fridges in the hallway that have bread products etc. These are accessible during library hours. We greatly appreciate the Martensville Co-op Grocery and Warman Save On Foods for their generous and continuous donations.

We have become incorporated and have been granted charitable status. We can issue tax deductible receipts. We also have a delivery service for seniors and those with a physical challenge /impairment.

Valley Soccer Association / Valley United Soccer Club (VUSC) The Valley Soccer Association has options for you and your soccer-playing family! During the winter, VSA provides two avenues for players: grassroots/recreational or competitive/developmental. Both options are quality programs run by volunteer boards and supported by professional staff.

If your player is interested in recreational, grassroots soccer; games and practices are held in Martensville.

If your player is looking for a more developmental or competitive experience, the Valley United Soccer Club (VUSC) offers a program that plays and participates in the Saskatoon Youth Soccer League (SYSI). There are 3 team events/ week, one game and two training sessions. Games are in Saskatoon and training is in Martensville.

VSA also will have Adult Soccer, Walking Soccer, and Futsal options available for the indoor season!

New Horizons Seniors The New Horizons Senior Center invites anyone 55 years of age and older to inquire about becoming a member. Membership is only $50 per person per year which entitles you to attend functions at the center as well as outings that are paid for either in full or in part by the Center. We host potluck suppers Monday evenings starting at 6:00pm. Following supper some people will stay and play cards or board games. We also have a pool table and a shuffleboard table that can be used. On the final Monday of each month is our birthday supper celebrating the birthdays of all members who had a birthday that month. We invite everyone to come for coffee on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am. You do not have to be a member to attend coffee which will give potential members a chance to meet us and ask questions about our group. We host Kaiser and Cribbage tournaments throughout the year that have become quite popular, these also are open to the public.

The hall is available for private rentals. Rental inquiries may be directed to Lovina Bischler at 306-222-3343 or Roger Strunk at 306-221-2771.

We have full time renters, The Lutheran Early Learning Center daycare operate out of our hall throughout the week on schooldays from 7:00am till 9:00am and then 3:00pm till 6:00pm.

We do have use of the hall during school hours 9:00am till 3:00pm and weekends. The hall has a new furnace and air conditioning installed last year to add to your comfort. We also have an electrostatic cleaner for sanitizing the hall along and an AED defibrillator on site.

Some activities we do away from the center are; live dinner theater in Saskatoon and Barn Playhouse. We have taken the Wheatland Express Train excursion from Wakaw and Cudworth. We have gone bowling to Hepburn. We have gone swimming to the Watrous spa. We have taken the Prairie Lily River Boat cruse. We also enjoy the occasional trip to the Dakota Dunes casino by bus. We also have in house entertainment throughout the year. Live music occasionally following our potluck suppers. We have had a stand up comedian perform for us as well as a Magician. We have hosted a very popular New Years Eve supper and dance with live music and a liquor license so we could enjoy a drink to ring in the new year. Bingo has been very popular since we started a few years ago. We host bingo every second Thursday at 7:00pm at the center.

We have gone high tech and can be found on Face book @ Martensville New Horizons Seniors. We also advertise all events on Martensville and area Community news.

Our year begins September 1st and runs through the winter ending in June the following spring with a catered BBQ. We do not operate during the months of July and August.
