Registration Information Program information including: dates, times, locations, and ages are included in this guide. There are three ways to register; on-line, by telephone, and in person. We accept, cash, cheque, debit, and credit card.

How to Register On-line registration can be found on our website at www.martensville.ca, look for the ‘Program Registrations’ button near the bottom of the page. In person and phone registration will take place at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion. We are located at 200 Mike Sands Boulevard and our number is 306-683-5576. Hours of operation are MondayFriday 7:00am - 10:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00am - 9:00pm. All registration fees must be paid in full when registering. We accept cash, cheque, debit, and credit card.

Refund Policy

A refund request that is received ten (10) days prior to the start of course will receive a 100% refund. No reason shall be required.

A refund request received within 10 days of the course starting or

once the course has commenced, and no more than 20% of the course is complete will receive a 50% refund.

After 20% of any course has been completed no refund shall be issued.

100% refund will be issued if the program is cancelled by the

Recreation & Community Services Department.

A pro-rated refund will be issued under the following circumstances; - Medical reasons, a medical certificate will be required.

- Program class cancellations, where classes cannot be made up.

KidSport Martensville TM

KidSport is a children’s charity dedicated to assisting children and families facing financial obstacles with the opportunity to participate in community sport programs. The primary goal of Kidsport should be for ALL kids to play and have fun!

How Does the Program Work?

Individual grants of up to $750 are available per calendar year for children or youth up to the age of 18. You can apply on-line at https://kidsportcanada.ca/saskatchewan/warman/apply-for-a-grant/ How Can YOU Help?

Support KidSport through purchasing raffle tickets, attending events, purchasing cut outs or simply making a donation. Tax receipts are provided for any donation over $25.00. 100% of donations and fundraising proceeds support children right here in Martensville.

In 2021 Martensville KidSport received over 40 applications totalling over $12,500. Each year we see an increase in the amount of applications and unfortunately, we have not been able to fully fund all applications.

Please support Martensville KidSport this year so ALL kids can play!!

Jumpstart Help kids learn new skills, build confidence, and boost their self-esteem. Every dollar of your donation helps them get into the game. Jumpstart is a community based charitable organization that helps kids in need participate in organized recreational activities. This program will also help to fund equipment costs. The jumpstart application is on-line at https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/pages/individual-child-grants

Intercommunity Development Group The Intercommunity Development Group consist of members form Martensville, Warman, Osler, Dalmeny, and Langham. The primary focus is to raise funds for children who wish to participate in arts, culture, drama, or recreation not covered by KidSport or Jumpstart.

2022 Sask. Lotteries The purpose of the Sask. Lotteries Community Grant program is to provide funds to local, non-profit and volunteer-based organizations whose sole purpose is to provide programs and services in the sport, culture, or recreation sector. Your project or event must take place between April 1st, 2021 and Mar. 31st, 2022.

Recreation Membership & Program Accessibility This program will offer a discounted rate on yearly recreation facility memberships at the MAP and city operated leisure programs for families and individuals whose income is below a certain level.

The discounted membership will be 50% off the original price of a yearly membership at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion. The discounted leisure program registration will be 80% off the original price of the city offered leisure program, up to a maximum of $200 per family member per year.

Families or individuals looking to apply for this program must complete the application form and provide all required documents. All information on the forms provided by the participants will be strictly confidential. Applications are available at City Hall and the MAP. This program is only for City of Martensville residents.

Toddler Gym Time

Make fun decorated cookies and take them home to share! Yum! A decorating class just for kids! All supplies are included. Sign up early because space is limited!

Need to get your toddler out of the house for a while? Toddler Time is an open gym time with a variety of equipment and play apparatuses. At this program parents/caregivers share with their children the importance of play in a fun and interactive setting. Indoor footwear or socks are required, and all food must be consumed in the lobby area. Juice, coffee etc. can be taken on the court if it is in a travel mug or water bottle.

Learn to Skate Teaching basic skating skills through games, circuits, and creative expression. Angela is an enthusiastic instructor that will get your child up and gliding across that ice in no time! Helmets with face protection are mandatory.

Mini Moves An activity-based program that teaches physical and social skills for pre-school children through action songs, games, and activities. They will enjoy playing with balls, parachutes, and using their imagination.

Parent & Tot Skate An opportunity for you to come out and teach your toddler to skate. There is no charge, just come out and have some fun with your little one.

Sportball for Toddlers Toddlers and parents focus on physical movement and social exploration through an introduction of a different sport each class using developmentally appropriate games and activities.

Sportball for Pre-schoolers This provides children with an opportunity for independent learning and autonomy among other social and developmental benefits. Art Classes - Beginner This class will be an exploration of art and an introduction to different mediums. Each child will learn techniques with pencil, charcoal, pastels and acrylic paint. We will spend two weeks on each art form and complete a piece of art in each medium to take home. Students can pick from pictures provided to create their masterpieces! Each student will receive individual help to advance their abilities as they work on their artwork. Join us for some fun!

Art Classes - Intermediate Once you’ve mastered the art basics in my Beginner Art Class, you can move into the Intermediate Art Class. We will learn more art techniques like perspective and try out different styles in the same mediums as our beginner class. Our final project in each medium will be your choice and you will have several classes to complete it. Join us for some fun!

Babysitters Course One of our most popular and famous programs! This course is packed full of advice, guides, tips, and information based on real life experiences, from kids and experts in the know. The Babysitter’s Training program has tons of activities and hands-on practice to increase student confidence and provide skills needed to be the best babysitter possible. This course is 7 hours long so please send a lunch for their lunch break.

Ball Hockey The sport of ball hockey is a sport anyone can enjoy. Regardless, if you are a highlevel ice hockey player or have never strapped on the blades, this sport is for you.

During this program your children will learn passing, shooting, stick handling, and teamwork through drills, activities, and games. A Game for Everyone!

Wood Carving

This is a youth-oriented program that fuses movement and music! By combining exercise and interactive activities, kids will learn new ways to explore movement, embrace creativity and ROCK OUT.

Come join us for a night of wood carving. Beginner projects may include items such as a polar bear, mouse, hound dog, etc.

Intermediate and advanced will focus on a relief carved stylized eagle head. We have a limit of 10 people so be sure to register early.

Home Alone Plus First Aid Are you wondering when it’s safe to leave your child at home alone for a few hours before or after school or while you run errands? This entertaining four hour child safety workshop is one of our most popular courses and is designed to prepare children to look after themselves during the times you aren’t there. Important skills are learned through interactive lessons and role play that help make both you and your child more confident when they are at home alone. First Aid for Kids teaches students how to respond to medical emergencies, such as cuts, burns, choking or broken bones.

Pickleball Jr. Come try out one of the new crazes that is reaching out to our younger generation now. Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. This is a drop-in program so feel free to come to one or all of the evening sessions. Facilitators will be there to help anyone that needs it.

Mental Health First Aid

Line Dancing is a fun social activity, promoting exercise, helping to develop and/or maintain posture, balance, coordination, and memory. A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows. There are no partners and anyone of any age and gender can line dance. In the class, all participants will face the same direction, and execute the pattern of steps at the same time. Music of all genres – classic, country, pop, latin, modern….; rhythms – waltz, two-step, polka, jive, charleston, foxtrot, cha cha, rumba, swing, street dance, rap…

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the support provided to a person who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis. The Mental Health Commission of Canada reports that one in every five Canadians experiences a mental health problem within a given year.

While we often know a lot about physical illness, there tends to be less knowledge about mental health or substance use problems. This lack of understanding leads to fear and negative attitudes towards individuals living with these problems.

It prevents people from seeking help for themselves and from providing appropriate support to people around them.

Ultra Beginner / Beginner: No previous dance experience and knowledge required. Simple dance style and rhythms. Steps to learn are walking, toe point, hook, heel splits, rock forward – back – side, weave, toe struts, triple step, hip bump, ¼ turn, ¼ turn jazz box, coaster step, forward shuffle, back shuffle, kick ball change, lindy, skate, and scissor steps…..

High Beginner / Improver: Previous line dance experience and knowledge required. Steps and dance patterns and turns are simple/ complex, with complex dance style and rhythm. Steps to learn are pivot turn, ¼ monterey, ½ monterey, rolling vine, turning shuffle, diagonal shuffle, cross unwind ¾ turn, ¾ on spot turn, sailor step, sailor ¼ turn, combination turns… tags or restarts in music…

Intermediate: This is the most popular level of social line dance, and this classification will feature dance routines suitable for experienced dancers. Basically, dancers who have completed beginner and improver dance and mastered a comprehensive range of step patterns, body position/movements and dance rhythms. An intermediate routine is likely to feature interesting step combinations, pauses, syncopations, body movements, timing variations and styling. (i.e. heel jack, apple jacks, vaudeville step, dorothy step, mashed potato, sailor ½ turn, full turns, hesitation, pencil or spiral turns, mule kicks, plus tags, phrases and restarts in the music and dance)

Course participants will learn how to recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis and encourage that person to: • Talk about declines in their mental well-being • Discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being • Reach out to these supports • Assist in a mental health or substance use crisis • Use MHFA actions to maintain one’s own mental well-being

Play & Skate with Santa – December 12th Play & Skate with Santa will take place on Sunday, Dec. 12th at the Sports Centre from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Light Up the Night Lantern Walk – December 12th Come shine your brightest during the darkest time of the year! On Sunday, Dec. 12th, the City of Martensville is partnering with SaskOutdoors, Sask Lotteries and Wildernook Fresh Air Learning to offer you a magical evening lantern walk experience. Lantern building will take place indoors in the Northridge Community Centre. The Lantern Walk will wind through Kinsmen Park and will depart from and return to the Community Centre for your convenience.

Families will enjoy hands-on creative time together in the Northridge Community Centre to construct their own lanterns. Then we will take our lanterns outdoors on a guided interpretive walk in Kinsmen Park. This is a neat opportunity for kids to share their light in an outdoor lantern procession! Join families internationally, who bring light into the darkest days of the year by participating in lantern walks.

Children must attend with an adult. We will be mobile on foot during the lantern walk and participants should be able to comfortably walk on uneven ground. Make sure to bring warm clothing layers (e.g. long underwear, winter jackets or snowsuits, winter boots, toques and warm mitts) to be comfortable outdoors for 30 to 40 minutes during the lantern walk. You may wish to consider pulling toddlers in a sled.

City of Martensville Events Lazy Man Triathlon Start off the new year with a bang! Join the challenge in 2022, Lazy Man Triathlon: Martensville! Challenge begins January 1st and ends January 31st! A typical triathlon consists of 3.86km (80 lap) swim, 180km bike ride, and a 42km run. We don’t know about you, but that seems like a lot to complete in a day, let alone a few hours! Toddler Time Frenzy Shake off those winter blues and bring your little ones to our Toddler Time Frenzy at the MAP!! We will have our Toddler Time toys, a Bouncy Castle, and some extra fun activities for the kids. We will also have coffee and treats for all the caregivers if they need a break.

Cost will be $5/child and will be held at the MAP on the first Thursday of the month from January - April.

Pickleball Tournament Join us for a day of pickleball at the MAP on January 22nd, 2022!

We will be hosting a doubles round robin tournament for everyone!

Throughout the day you will be switching partners at random and are guaranteed to play 3 games! Lunch will be provided at an additional cost.

There are two options of play to choose from: • Intermediate Mixed: play in this co-ed level with others who know and play the game while also being able to socialize.

• Competitive/Advanced: This is for those who know the game and want a challenge. There are both a women’s and men’s division. If we do not get enough players registered, this will become a mixed doubles level.

Winter FunFest Fun for the whole family! Winter FunFest is held on February 21st, Family Day, at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion and is full of winter themed activities! We guarantee great family fun and amazing memories made. A fantastic firework show usually ends the night off with a bang! Business Expo and Made in Tradeshow The Made in Saskatchewan Tradeshow grows each year that we host it! We are continuing to partner with Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce to bring you the Martensville Business Expo & Made in Saskatchewan Tradeshow in March. This event is all about showcasing what Martensville has to offer and promoting all types of businesses including several unique handcrafted and homemade products from a variety of vendors. Glow Skate Take advantage of one of the last public skating days of the season. On March 13 from 1-2:30pm, join us for Glow Skating! Strap on the skates and dress in bright neon colors and head down to the Sports Center. This glow party will have dimmed lighting, glow sticks and music! Admission is by donation to Martensville KidSport or by donation of non-perishable food items to the Martensville free pantry.

This time, participants will use GPS coordinates to find the Easter eggs hidden around Martensville during the Easter Break through April 18-24th. Monster Garage Sale The Spring Monster Garage Sale will take place on Friday, May 27th & Saturday, May 28th for the City of Martensville and the City of Warman.

The flyers will be available to pick up at various gas stations, at the MAP, and City Hall. We will advertise this event through numerous local papers and social media to guarantee a great turn out! The registration deadline is Tuesday, May 24th at 12:00pm.

Martensville’s New Multipurpose Recreation Facility The City of Martensville, partnering with the Martensville Community Recreation Project (MCRP), is set to deliver a phased facility to meet the ever-growing demand for more ice and indoor field time. Where will it be? The new facility will be located on the west side of Martensville and anchor the newest subdivision slated for Martensville. Trilogoy Ranch will be a 680 acre residential and commercial development slated to be builit out over the next 25 years, be home to an additional 10,000 residents.

• In addition to the City’s $6.5M commitment, the MCRP and a group of community volunteers have raised $2.8M to date for this facility! A HUGE thank you to the people who have worked tirelessly towards the new facility - your dedication, your passion and your efforts have driven this project. Fitness Area The fitness area consists of 4 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, 6 bikes (spin, upright, and recumbent), a cable cross machine, ab machine, leg curl, leg extension, pec fly, leg press, and chest press.

Children under 12 are not permitted in the Fitness Area. Children aged 12-14 must be supervised by an adult when using the Fitness Area.

After School Drop-In If your kids are bored or you want them to get a little more active, then bring them down to the Athletic Pavilion. Ages 8-17 can come and partake in a variety of sporting activities.

Anyone 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Seniors Walking and Pickleball (55+) We are excited to be continuing our Seniors Programming at the MAP. Come for some fitness, socializing, games, laughs, and good times. Use our fitness center, play pickleball, badminton, or just walk. There is something for everyone.

Senior’s Globe Walk We are excited to bring back our Seniors Globe Walk Program.

During community consultations, older adults identified the need for more physical activity and social opportunities during the winter months. The Seniors Globe Walk is a response to that need. Globe Walk is free to all participants 50+, it’s motivational, it’s fun and it’s easy to join. Please note that you will have to sign up to participate in this program. Registration forms are available at the front desk of the MAP.

Toddler Time Need to get your toddler out of the house for a while? Toddler Time is an open gym time with a variety of equipment and play apparatuses. At this program parents/caregivers share with their children the importance of play in a fun and interactive setting. Indoor footwear or socks are required, and all food must be consumed in the lobby area. Juice, coffee etc. can be taken on the court if it is in a travel mug or water bottle.

Recreation & Community Services Tobogganing Hills There are three tobogganing hills located at the following three parks: North Hills/Mini-Mountain, Kinsmen Park, and Lions Park. Please be careful and have fun!!

Christmas Holiday Public Skating & Shinny Schedule Please note that the Sports Centre will be closed on December 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st and Jan 1st. Check the website at www.martensville.ca for a full schedule of Public Skating & Shinny Times.

Off Leash Dog Park The off-leash Dog Park is a year round park located on 10th Ave S. This is the only area in Martensville that permits dogs off leash. Patrons are reminded to obey park rules which are posted at the entrance to the park from the parking lot. Users of the Off Leash Dog Park will find a large open space for dogs to run as well as pathways within the treed area of the park. Residents can access the park by vehicle off 10th Ave S and by foot using the pedestrian bridge off the paths behind Glenview.

Pathways/Walking Trails Residents can enjoy over 7 kms of lit paved pathways that intertwine within the various parks, sporting facilities and linear parks. These pathways connect the community from the south to the north. The pathways that are in the community will be maintained throughout the winter. If you notice an area of pathway not cleared please contact the Parks and Facilities Manager at 306-683-5578.

Recreation & Community Services Rental Space The City of Martensville has various opportunities for rental spaces whether it be a wedding, birthday party, fundraiser, or a meeting. Outdoor Skating & Pond Usage Please note the outdoor rink at the Sports Centre will be used for skating only on Wednesday’s from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday’s from 2:00pm - 5:00pm. All other times are available for shinny.

Those using the canals and lakes, East Trout & Kelly’s Pond, for recreational usage are encouraged to use caution as the thickness of the ice will vary. Remember only the following usages are encouraged: • •

Skating (on designated areas that are cleared of snow) Ice Fishing on East Trout Lake (no ice shacks)

We will be clearing the canal between Kelly’s Pond and East Trout Lake for skating. This area is located within Kinsmen Park. This surface will be maintained once there is adequate ice thickness for skaters.

No vehicles, snowmobiles, or all-terrain vehicles are allowed on the lakes, parks, or drainage ways within our community. Please contact the Recreation Office at 306-683-5576 to receive information on the condition of these areas. We recommend no winter usage of the lake located on Sunset Ridge due to ice strength.

Kinsmen Park With over 100 acres of green space located in the heart of the City of Martensville Kinsmen Park is Martensville’s destination park. With its array of recreation options, facilities, and beauty, Kinsmen Park is a prominent feature in our community.

Kinsmen Park is home to the Martensville Slo-Pitch diamonds and connected to the Mar-tensville Athletic Pavilion, baseball and athletic fields, North Ridge Community Centre, the Martensville Aquatic Centre, and Kyle Syrenne Skate Park.

Kinsmen Park features over two kilometers of paved and lit walking pathways linked to over seven kilometres of walking paths. The paths span the community and run adjacent to four separate ponds adding to recreational opportunities such as skating, kayaking, or fishing. A pedestrian bridge over the canal provides an attractive backdrop for the park.

From sport activities to casual leisure enjoyment, Kinsmen Park is a great meeting place for family and friends. Amenities include an integrated pathway system, 9 hole disc golf course, 2 outdoor fitness pods with 11 pieces of equipment, park benches, picnic shelter, toboggan hill, 3 tennis/pickleball courts, full size outdoor basketball court, playground, community garden, and gazebo.

The Kinettes are a non-profit service club that is new to Martensville(2019). We are here to serve the community’s greatest needs. We accept members from any community surrounding Martensville. We not only do work in our community but we concentrate on fellowship and fun. We have social outings and love spending time together. Some of our plans for this year is another Santa Clause Parade, Adopt A Family, and of course Telemiracle. That is just a few things we will be working on. Martensville New Horizons Seniors Martensville New Horizons Senior Centre, invites anyone 55 years of age or older to join and become members of the Centre. Because of Covid we had to change the protocol. Some changes are the days of our meals. The first Monday of the month is a noon meal and the third Monday is a 5:30pm evening meal. Coffee is every Wednesday morning at 10:00am, everyone welcome. Bingo is the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm. The Quilters group meet every Tuesday from 9:00am-4:00pm. When we are permitted by the Health Authority to resume social activities like cards, shuffleboard, games of pool, and entertainment it will be announced to our members. There is an AED Defibrillator on the premises and we have purchased as Electrostatic Cleaner for sanitizing. Our season starts in September and ends with a BBQ in June. Membership is $50/year.

Some activities subsidized with the grant from Sask Lotteries are out of town bus trips to the Spa, RCMP Museum in Regina, purchased tickets for the Train Excursion from Cudworth to Wakaw, local school plays, Barn Theatre, MAP memberships, entertainment at the Centre.

The Affinity Credit Union grant has been instrumental in providing funds for improvements including recent purchases of chairs for the centre, a commercial dishwasher, and this year a commercial stove.

With the Federal CRA grant we’ve received in recent years we provided an upgraded ramp, widened the steps and the platform to accommodate wheelchairs or walkers, new roofing, flooring and our proposal for the years project (if provided) is to remodel the kitchen with new cabinets.

The MCC Board of Directors have been busy working very hard to assure we have a plan, with the assistance of CurlSask and Sask Health, to keep members safe during COVID-19. In accordance with the current Sask Health mandates, our facility has a proof of vaccination policy in effect.

We had a number of competitive events early on in the season at Martensville Curling Club. It was a great opportunity for the community to come out and watch some world class curling.

Sask Valley Riding Club The Sask Valley Riding Club is made up of members of all ages. Martensville Community Recreation Project As a volunteer-led charity, the Martensville Community Recreation Project (MCRP)’s main goal is to provide a yearround multipurpose recreation facility for the residents of Martensville and our surrounding communities. Our young and growing community is in dire need of a new facility for ice and turf sports. The lack of a suitable and accessible recreational facility impedes our children’s and adults’ participation in their healthy physical activity of choice. We believe in a Martensville where all can play and be active in a facility that is truly the heartbeat of our community.

Martensville Pickleball Club The Martensville Senior Pickleball Club, as its name implies, is a group of seniors who come together to play pickleball for fun and recreation. The games provide an opportunity for light exercise with a high importance placed on friendships and socializing.

Club members currently play during Senior Drop-In times at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion, from 1-4pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In spring and summer months, we enjoy outdoor play at the new outdoor courts next to the Martensville Sport Centre. (arena) Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis and can be played as doubles or singles. We welcome players of all skill levels. Periodic training clinics are offered for both beginners and more experienced players.

Maddogs Football Winter Sessions for Flag and Tackle Skills & Drills will commence at the end of January and will run until the end of March.

Martensville Outdoor Soccer Season 2020 MSA outdoor soccer registrations will open online only starting Feb. 4th, 2021 at NOON and will close March 7th, 2021 at NOON. Please note we DO NOT accept online payments.

We will have a payment/deposit drop off night for the outdoor season on March 10th, 2021 from 6:00pm-7:30pm at the MAP soccer office. Please note the City of Martensville is NOT part of the soccer program. The City of Martensville employees at the MAP are unable to take our payments.

Martensville Soccer hosts a in house league for our U5 & U7 age groups. Our U9 and U11 teams play a season games against teams from Warman Soccer and home teams from Martensville. Games are split between both cities. Martensville soccer also has U13 and U15 teams this season.

Those teams play within the valley for games. All U9 and up age groups from Martensville will have weekly practice nights within Martensville.

If you have a player interested in an age group not listed we can look for placement within another town in the Valley that has those age groups.

Local Service Groups Skate Martensville Skate Martensville’s skating season is underway and we have a great number of skaters registered this year. We are grateful to be back on the ice with our full programming.

Skate Martensville was supposed to host Funfest for our canskaters this season. However, for the safety of all skaters, the event has been cancelled. We look forward to hosting this event next season.

Martensville Minor Hockey The 2021/2022 Minor hockey season has begun with over 450 players registered ranging in ages from 5 - 17. This season we again have over 30 teams representing our hockey association and we are excited to be hosting several all-female hockey teams this year.

This past year we saw our athletes continue to succeed with several players making their debuts in the WHL and SJHL as well as SMAAAHL! We work hard to make sure that every player who wants to play this great game is given that opportunity.

574 “Dakota” Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron Air Cadets is a national program for young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who are interested in learning about the Air Element of the Canadian Forces, as well as participating in a variety of fun, challenging and rewarding activities. 574 Dakota Squadron serves Martensville, Warman, Dalmeny, Osler and area.

Air Cadets will participate in many activities, including gliding and flying days, bush survival weekends, physical fitness, and summer camp opportunities. The Cadet program helps youth develop into strong young adults and instills valuable life and work skills, such as leadership, self-discipline and teamwork. Finally, Cadets will also participate in citizenship and community activities, such as Remembrance Day. The sky is the limit!

This year is Canada’s 155th birthday, and we are excited to celebrate with you!!

Canada Day Committee

We are already busy planning a great day!! There will be lots of great FREE activities for all ages. The day kicks off in the afternoon, starting with an Art Show and Community History Showcase. Family activities start off the afternoon with crafts, games, scavenger hunt, honouring historical traditions and more. To add to this, cupcakes and ice cream are served to the first 200 people. Activities will continue into the evening. We will also hope to have guest appearances throughout the afternoon, live entertainment and a dance party (TBA).

The feature event of Canada Day in Martensville is the fireworks display and the Cinema Under the Stars – a GIANT 3 storey inflatable movie screen in Martensville. Once again, the Martensville Information and Visitor Centre is working hard to get a brand NEW animated movie, one that is so new that it’s still in theatres and won’t be available on video yet. Pack your vehicle, bug spray, blankets, lawn chairs and join the fun!

A BBQ and concession will be on site throughout the event , some favourites available will be popcorn, cotton candy, non alcoholic beverages and other snacks. Glow sticks will also be available throughout the evening. All proceeds support the programs and projects at the Martensville Information and Visitor Centre.

This fun filled one day event takes a lot of preparation and there are many jobs, big and small, that can only be accomplished with the help of volunteers. We’re looking forward to a great event - the inflatable movie screen is already booked, and we are getting excited to celebrate together!!

Our goal is to celebrate our nation’s birthday right here in our own community.

We need help with planning games and activities, finding grants and sponsorships, gathering prizes, and finding people to help on Canada Day!!

Volunteers Required!! Complimentary Income Tax Program The MIVC will again be offering complimentary simple income tax service for eligible households. Training is provided for volunteers, and only a few hours time is required. Please contact us if you are interested in being a part of this program or if you have any questions. Without enough volunteers, this program will not be offered.
