Youth Programs Walking to and from school can be a great way to stay fit and healthy. However, it is important that students learn to stay safe along the route. We are excited to be bringing back the Lacrosse program this fall. Come out and learn the basic techniques of this fast-paced exciting sport. A stick, gloves and helmet with mask are required. We look forward to seeing you there!!
Nature Play In the past, playing outside in nature was a part of everyday, normal childhood experience. Many of us have fond memories of time spent outdoors catching butterflies and frogs; exploring little creeks and ponds; building stick forts or tree houses; daydreaming in your secret spot; or just “mucking around” in the mud. This program will bring you back to those memories and have the kids learn and enjoy everything nature has to offer. The program will be held outdoors so please remember to dress accordingly. No class on Oct. 6th.

Aqua Fit
A class for everyone, especially for those with joint ailments or injuries, get fit with this challenging water workout. After a gentle warm-up in the calm water, you’ll ease into the exercises using your own body weight. No classes Oct. 8th.
Aqua Yoga
A light warm-up using the noodles followed by all of your favourite yoga poses with noodles as stability props. The water allows us the buoyancy to move into poses not achievable on land. If you always wanted to try yoga but were worried about balance issues, this may be your answer!! No classes Oct. 8th.
Body Sculpt This is a combo class that involves moderate weight training and cardio to enhance strength and endurance. A full body workout that will challenge and energize you!! We’ll get your heart rate pumping!
Flow Yoga This class involves linking several yoga poses together to create strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance. The classes will effectively work all parts of the body equally, creating an experience of non-judgement and non-competitiveness. We will focus on alignment using the threemountain format, warm-up, work phase and cool down. Be prepared to sweat a bit and leave feeling relaxed. All levels welcome, modifications offered at each class.
16
Practice the form of the basic yoga postures, while allowing yourself to experience a gentle slower paced class. Attention to connecting breath mindfully to move through the postures and creating a balance for greater health and mental awareness.
Yin yoga is a gentle practice that uses longer holds to move deep into the body’s connective tissues. The YIN practice is designed to relive stress while the heat stimulates deep muscle release and relaxation. This is an excellent nonweight bearing style of yoga for all levels, those who prefer a less vigorous class and for those experiencing illness, injury or chronic pain. It is also a great compliment to a regular yoga class.

Sask. Valley Riding Club The Sask Valley Riding Club was formed in 1996 and is made up of members of all ages, promoting a family atmosphere. The club holds several events throughout the year to support causes or charities that are of special interest to its members including the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, the Equine Health Research Fund, and Breast Cancer Research. Some of the events organized include fun gymkhanas, poker rally’s, the Telemiracle Pony Express 8-Day Ride. In addition, we coordinate various riding clinics for club members throughout the year and take part in as many local parades as we can. Weekly winter riding was added in 2011. Both English and Western riders can enjoy some of the advantages of membership, including access to our library which contains an assortment of training videos and books. As a club we enjoy spending time with other people, both riders and non-riders alike, that share our interest in horses. In doing so, we are given a chance to learn from each other and the various experts we have contact with along the way.

Our goals include helping each other, helping our horses and helping our community. Whether you’re just looking for some new people to ride with or for the opportunity to learn a little more about your horse in a relaxed atmosphere, the Club may be right for you. Come on out and let’s see what we can learn from each other. Contact the SVRC at SaskValleyRidingClub@gmail.com, like us on facebook, or check the website – www.saskvalleyridingclub.com
