Go wild at The Waurika Rattlesnake Festival! In April, take a guided snake hunt through the prairie grasses of the farthest southwest corner of Chickasaw Country with prizes awarded for shortest and longest snake sacked. You can hold a Diamondback, take your picture with one and even sample fried rattlesnake. The festival offers games, food trucks and contests. For those who prefer to hang back and watch, professional snake handlers provide suspense, humor and intrigue to demonstrate what to do (and not do!) to a rattlesnake.
