An alluring combination of laughter and the smell of wood-fired pizza greets visitors when walking into Hobo Joe’s in Madill. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this hometown favorite offers a variety of food, from southwestern to burgers and everything in between. BBQ is serious business in Oklahoma and the folks at Smokin’ Joes Rib Ranch in Davis start smoking their meat over a hickory fire at sunrise.

Gather your friends and get ready to test your palette with a southeast wine tasting tour. Start your adventure at The Rusty Nail Winery. Built in a historic building Hobo in downtown Sulphur, this boutique winery charms customers with wines like Peep Toe Chardonnay and Little Black Pump Cabernet Sauvignon. Up next is Old Silo Winery in Tishomingo. Neighboring the Blue River and the Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge, the owners have handcrafted delicious wines that taste even better in their rustic venue; you guessed it, an old grain silo from the wheat fields of western Oklahoma. The last stop will take you south to Mead and the Crystal Creek Winery. Specializing in wines made from fruit other than grapes, this winery takes you out of the ordinary with caramel apple and elderberry wines. Tip: Ask for their frozen wine slushie during the Oklahoma summer heat.

Born and bred in Chickasaw Country, Blake Shelton has come home to open Ole Red in Tishomingo. It’s all about a good time at this laidback music venue and restaurant, as you fill up with the Blue Tick Burger or Redneck Tacos. Grab a drink at The Doghouse, Ole Red’s partner in crime, and spin around the dance floor; you never know which Nashville act might step on stage next. If it’s something sugary you’re craving, Sweet Swirlz in Sulphur is sure to bring happiness to your inner child! Candy dispensers line the walls of this frozen yogurt shop; the number of toppings offered is a sugar lover’s dream. Are you hungry yet?
