When you’re ready to shed the trappings of winter weather, a local favorite is the Burning of the Socks Festival at Lake Texoma. In March, follow a parade of golf carts to the marina to begin the transition into spring and – that’s right – the sock bonfire. Join the fiery festivities to support local charitable causes. Laughter, fun and a fantastic line-up of live music provides the perfect soundtrack for a lakeside chili cook-off and weenie roast.

The Artesian Arts Festival, hosted by the Chickasaw Nation, displays works from more than 100, elite Native American artists around the country. Spend your Memorial Day weekend in Sulphur surrounded by beautiful visual arts of all medium as well as wonderful performing arts acts. A free shuttle service will take you to the Chickasaw Cultural Center where visitors can experience reenactments, demonstrations and view exhibits.
Love County Frontier Days in Marietta is full of family fun. Main Street hosts a line-up of carnival rides, games for kids, food, shopping, music and more. The annual parade brings together neighbors and friends for a nostalgic summer night spent waving at classic cars and decorated floats. Fireworks on Saturday evening provide a breathtaking end to this lively May event.
