The past month at Marove Agency has been exactly that, in more ways than one. The first big change is that I officially relocated Marove WHQ to a new office in Southwest Portland and I am going all in on the vibes at this new place (pictured). It also officially makes me a downtown girlie, which I’m thrilled about
Secondly: Magnifier Monthly 2.0 is officially here!
This new design has been months in the making, inspired in large part by my work with my clients. One thing has become abundantly clear to me in the four years I’ve been doing this work, which is that women business owners are smart.

Welcometomycrib!
They know their business inside and out, and they strategize with intention Any gaps in their business strategy isn’t because they aren’t capable of learning or doing; it’s simply because they don’t have the information or resources they need.
This new Magnifier Monthly will fill the digital business/marketing holes. This new version is a learn-by-doing experience designed to make new knowledge stick by putting ideas into practice. I’m operating on the premise that women will take the resources they’re given and make a plan, they just need the information in the first place

Here’s a closer look at the new format and content.
Put your sleuthing prowess to the test with monthly riddles, jigsaw puzzles, scavenger hunts, and more! The answer to each puzzle will be a specific marketing/business concept, and understanding the answer is part of the puzzlesolving process.
Business gadgets are the evolved toolkits. They’re practical business strategies in the form of vintage tools, so you can feel like you’re literally building up your arsenal of marketing resources for putting your plans into action.
This is the same as before. It’s too cute to change! Listen to local business women talk about their entrepreneurial journey and their best advice for digital business endeavors.
Now that you have this inside scoop, I’m guessing you’re thinking of a woman or two who might be a good fit for this format of learning. If that’s the case, feel free to share this newsletter with them so they can subscribe on their own and join this community of intrepid business-owners-turned-sleuths

For creating a roadmap for your big holiday sale.
When it comes to the holiday season, product sales are a dime a dozen. The best way to get your product to stand out and connect with your customer is to plan ahead Creating a roadmap of your campaign will help you visualize the process as a thoughtful arc over time and maximize the impact of your plan.

EVENT
Event: Put the big dates on the calendar first, like holidays or special events, so you can time your plan with moments that everyone experiences and avoid broadcasting anything when people likely aren’t paying attention (ex: Election Day).
Sales: Add in the dates during which you’re running any sales or offering coupons, including both the start date and end date. Also make a note of what your exact sale is (ex: BOGO sale on custom-branded magnifying glasses).
Touchpoints: Note the moments when you want to message your customers, and how you’ll contact them (email? text message?). Specify what the general purpose and theme of the message will be (ex: highlighting your product, offering an exclusive deal, following up on their purchase)
Social Media: Once you have the roadmap for your sale and customer experience, social media can be stamped in as a complementary strategy. You can use it to showcase your product and customer reviews without directly pitching your sale.
In this example, the business owner’s objectives are:
Sell more of their ‘DIY sewing kits’
Run a BOGO sale
Get customers to subscribe to the product on a monthly basis
NOTE: This is just one month of the plan. Realistically, this business owner would stamp their calendar for October-January since they would want to follow up with marketing for the monthly subscription option.
A savvy merchant can use this trick
As long as their stock can take the kick
A patron with wiles is happy to find That they get what they give twice in kind
Know the limit to this kind of spree: One must be full for the other to be free.
A BOGO sale (or buy-one-get-one free) is a business tactic that attracts customers by offering two products for the price of one. As the consumer, it feels like winning the lottery; who doesn’t want more bang for their buck?? In THIS economy?!
On the other hand, it might give you pause as the seller. No matter how much of a jump you see in sales, you’re still giving up 50% of your inventory for free...
Think of the BOGO sale as a small investment in your business. The ultimate payoff is usually much higher than the temporary revenue gap: getting your product in customers’ hands increases your pool for 5-star reviews and word-of-mouth marketing (invaluable!).
Protip: The BOGO is great for the holiday season when consumers get overwhelmed by advertisements & decision fatigue and are looking for that easy ‘yes’.
Pssst! Did you spot the clue on the bulletin board? 2 4 1 = two-for-one
