The Fifteen Promises of the Rosary: A Simpler Life Alongside Our Mother

Happy Birthday Mary!

It's Our Blessed Mother's birthday next month, on Tuesday, September 8th. Have a birthday party and celebrate her being the best mom ever!

1. To all those who shall pray my Rosary devoutly, I promise my special protection and great graces.

2. Those who shall persevere in the recitation of my Rosary will receive some special grace.

3. The Rosary will be a very powerful armor against hell; it will destroy vice, deliver from sin and dispel heresy.

4. The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

5. Those who trust themselves to me through the Rosary will not perish.

6. Whoever recites my Rosary devoutly reflecting on the mysteries, shall never be overwhelmed by misfortune. He will not experience the anger of God nor will he perish by an unprovided death. The sinner will be converted; the just will persevere in grace and merit eternal life.

7. Those truly devoted to my Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who are faithful to recite my Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces and will share in the merits of the blessed.

9. I will deliver promptly from purgatory souls devoted to my Rosary.

10. True children of my Rosary will enjoy great glory in heaven.

11. What you shall ask through my Rosary you shall obtain.

12. To those who propagate my Rosary I promise aid in all their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Son that all the members of the Rosary Confraternity shall have as their intercessors, in life and in death, the entire celestial court.

14. Those who recite my Rosary faithfully are my beloved children, the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion to my Rosary is a special sign of predestination.

A Word From MA's Outreach Student Director, Chris CedeĂąo "I had the opportunity to join the Marmion's Outreach Ministry program my junior year. For me it was a no brainer: of course I wanted to join! I have heard from older students that Outreach was a great way to put your faith into action while at the same time help others grow in their faith and develop leadership skills. Throughout my junior year I was grateful to attend retreats and I was able to help younger kids grow in their faith, put my faith into action and develop better leadership qualities, all at the same time. I have been given the privilege and honor of being named Student Director of the Outreach program, something that I know God had planned for me.

Outreach means so much to me because it's something so very unique to our school, I could say there is nothing like it anywhere else. I am so excited to tackle this year and make it a great one no matter what the circumstances are! Thank you and I hope to see you all sometime soon!"

Deacon Bill Johnson, A reflection

"TO BE AWAKE" During these very difficult times, I have found that we need to remember that God is with us. He has blessed us with so many beautiful people and things in our lives. He calls us to “wake up” to His presence. I would like to share with you a Reflection that I would use in class with the seniors I taught in Senior Theology over the years. I called it, “To Be Awake”.

TO BE AWAKE One of the things that I have experienced in my life that never ceases to amaze me is the deadness in the eyes of the majority of people I encounter on a daily basis. You’re probably thinking, What is he saying?” or “What a negative way to look at life!” Well, sometimes the truth hurts.

Just look around as you walk down the street, shop at the mall or better yet, while you’re at church during Sunday mass. We have become a society with more of everything except time, patience and happiness. We have forgotten how to say “hello,” “thank you” or even how to smile at a stranger, let alone a friend!

As Catholic Christians, we have been given the greatest gift…that of our faith.

Jesus came to simply show us how to live, how to be alive, and how to deal with every issue we may encounter in our lives. Christ gave us the directions for an alive and happy life. We are asked to love, to forgive and to continually pray. Sounds easy, but it will be the most difficult task in our lives. Why should we do it? The answer is simple. We will be alive, we will be in the presence of God, we will live in the present moment, and we will be awake to the beauty of the world around us. If we become lovers, we will get a glimpse of the Kingdom and feel the glorious presence of Christ in our lives.

The next time you go to mass, look around and smile at the people in the community. Take time to meet someone you don’t know. Sing boldly, pray for your neighbor during the Lord’s Prayer, and share your smile during the Sign of Peace to as many people as you can. Be aware that Christ is present in the Eucharist and He is asking us to be alive…to wake up to his love. When we receive Christ, we are then called to go out and be Christ to others.

Christ came for the living…that’s you and me. So let’s start living it, believing it, proclaiming it and doing it. Be awake…be alive…be a lover…be a follower of Christ!

Divine Savior, transform me into Yourself May my hands be your hands.

May my tongue be your tongue.

Grant that every faculty of my body may serve only to glorify You. Above all, transform my soul and all its powers, that my memory, my will and my affections, may be the memory, the will, and the affections of You. I pray You to destroy in me, all that is not You. Grant that I may live but in You, and by You, and for You, and that I may truly say with St. Paul, “I live now, not I, but Christ lives in me. Amen. "
