A COMMUNITY OF FAITH Marmion Academy welcomes students of all faiths. We teach our students the importance of taking time out of their day to reflect on the spiritual aspects of their lives. The priests and brothers of Marmion Abbey, seven of whom are on faculty/staff, help students to develop a strong faith and moral values through a Benedictine approach to education. A consistent presence on campus, the monks model compassion and commitment through their work with students.

QUALITY EDUCATION Marmion offers a challenging collegepreparatory curriculum that emphasizes a Catholic and Benedictine approach to education. Students experience a sense of brotherhood in our single-sex learning environment. Annually, Marmion seniors achieve a 100% college acceptance rate and approximately 80% of our graduates receive an academic scholarship or honor.

ACADEMIC CENTER Marmion recognizes that our students learn in a variety of ways. The Academic Center Staff specialize in learning differences and support individual students by helping them with organization, time-management, study skills and test-taking strategies as well as providing accommodations for extended time for test-taking. This program currently serves over 60 students with diagnosed learning differences in the form of Student Support Plans (Accommodations Plans).

EXPRESS YOURSELF Through performing arts, students can cultivate their talent and enjoy the spotlight in a variety of disciplines including drama, music, chorus, visual arts, bands, and broadcasting. Students are able to fully experience visual and performing arts and showcase their talents in our annual concerts, musicals, and drama productions. Marmion students meet and interact with the girls from our sister school, Rosary High School, in musical and drama productions, the Marmion-Rosary Band, Art Club and at Marmion’s coffee houses. These shared activities enable students from both schools to develop their passion for the arts.

STUDENT-ATHLETES Academics play an essential part in all aspects of the Marmion Advantage. Athletes are required to pass weekly grade checks to remain eligible to participate in their sport(s). Many athletes exceed this expectation and are recognized for their academic and athletic performance each season. Over the past 3 years approximately 75% of all Marmion varsity athletes maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA and were named Academic All-Conference by the Chicago Catholic League. The Cadets have long been recognized as a force in the Fox Valley area. Our teams are dedicated, disciplined and competitive.

ADMISSION CRITERIA Marmion is a place where young men of good character look to advance their education and develop leadership skills. Students are accepted in grades 9-11. To be considered for admission, you must: • Complete an application (applications are available online at marmion.org/admissions) • Supply official school transcripts • Submit recommendation(s) from a current teacher or principal • Take an entrance exam administered on campus (freshman applicants only).

MERIT & NEED-BASED ASSISTANCE We are a member of the Private School Aid Service (PSAS), which assists schools in making financial aid decisions. Ask about our FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, which is available to families who may not otherwise afford a private school education. SCHOLARSHIPS are offered to incoming freshmen based on academic merit of the entrance examination and grades. All 8th graders interested in a scholarship need to take the Scholarship Qualifying Entrance Exam, offered early in December. Register for the exam at marmion.org/admissions.

Founded in 1933, Marmion is conducted by the Benedictine Priests and Brothers of Marmion Abbey and is situated on a scenic 325 acre campus in Aurora, Illinois. To accomplish its mission, Marmion strives to build a community of skilled and dedicated Merit and Need-Based Financial Assistance educators and talented and receptive students. The Academy

Founded in 1933, Marmion is conducted by the Benedictine Priests and Brothers of Marmion Abbey and is situated on a scenic 325 acre campus in Aurora, Illinois. To accomplish its mission, Marmion strives to build a community of skilled and dedicated educators and talented and receptive students. Parents, teachers, support staff, alumni and students work together to foster respect for each person and to develop God-given talents.
