A SCHOOL THAT FORMS THE PERSON

Whole

At Marmion, education is not simply preparation for college ... it is formation for life. We develop young men and women of character, intellect, compassion, and purpose.

Welcome to Marmion Academy! As you explore these pages, I hope you do more than discover our faith, academics, athletics, traditions, and opportunities. I hope you begin to imagine yourself here. I know Marmion from various perspectives: first as a student and later as a parent. I wore the uniform, sat in these classrooms, made lifelong friendships, and learned from monks, teachers, and mentors who helped shape who I became. Years later, my wife and I chose Marmion for our own children. That decision says more about what I believe in Marmion than any title I could hold. I knew firsthand the faith, education, relationships, values, and experiences this community provides - and the kind of young men and women it can help our students become. Today, as President, I am grateful to serve a school that has meant so much to my family. At Marmion, you will be challenged, encouraged, and pushed beyond your comfort zone. You will discover talents you didn’t know you had. You will work hard, laugh, compete, create, pray, serve, lead, and build friendships and memories that stay with you long after graduation. And you won’t have to figure it all out alone. That is the beauty of Marmion. You become part of something bigger than yourself: a community rooted in faith, grounded in the Benedictine tradition, committed to academic excellence, and dedicated to developing young people who lead with character, confidence, and purpose. Mr. Anthony Tinerella ’84, President of Marmion Academy

Life

Marmion offers a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum grounded in the Catholic and Benedictine tradition. Our holistic approach challenges students to grow spiritually, think critically, and lead with integrity. In our focused learning environment, students form strong bonds, support one another, and strive for excellence, together. In our co-educational model, freshman and sophomore students will experience core classes in single-gender classrooms to preserve smaller class sizes, thus enabling them to build confidence, minimize distractions, and develop a strong academic foundation.

LIFE

Spiritual growth is an essential part of who we are at Marmion Academy. Guided by the example of the Monks of Marmion Abbey and the Rule of St. Benedict, we help students become men and women of courage, compassion, and character. Faith is woven into daily life on campus through prayer, sacraments, reflection, and service. Our Catholic and Benedictine identity helps form a moral foundation that will stay with students for life.

Daily Mass Offered Annual Class Retreats Four-Year Theology Curriculum Adoration and Reconciliation Prayer Before Every Class Daily All-School Prayer Liturgical Ministries Monthly All-School Mass

Beyond the daily faith formation, our Campus Ministry is at the heart of the Marmion student experience where they put their faith into action. Students are able to come alive in their faith and form a personal connection with God and others through opportunities such as class retreats, mission trips, spending time with local nursing home residents, facilitating faith based events for middle school students in area parishes, experiencing the joy of Special Olympic athletes, mentoring, among many others.

Innovation: LEARNING BY DOING

STEM programs at Marmion Academy combine hands-on learning with real-world application, giving students the chance to design, build, and innovate using professional-grade tools, and technology. From engineering and robotics to coding and research, our students tackle projects that develop problem-solving, creativity, and technical skills. Our award-winning programs, including the Computational Prototyping and Research Center (CPARC), connect students directly with industry partners, preparing them for college, careers, and leadership roles in tomorrow’s technology-driven world.

CPARC: The Innovation Bridge Imagine working on real engineering projects for real companies — while you are still in high school. That’s what CPARC at Marmion Academy is all about.

CPARC Top Business Partners

Marmion’s CPARC program offers students a collaborative learning and research atmosphere to tackle real-world problems. For students, solving these challenges means seeing their hard work and dedication in STEM translate into tangible career success. In CPARC, you won’t just learn about engineering, you will design, test, and simulate products using the same advanced tools professionals use, such as SolidWorks, and industrial simulation prototyping software systems.

CPARC gives students the opportunity to: • Earn professional certifications • Gain technical expertise in simulation, prototyping, and engineering software • Build professional collaboration skills working with engineers and industry leaders • Develop a portfolio of real projects for college and career advancement • Grow in leadership, teamwork, and ethical decision-making This is the kind of hands-on, industry-level experience most students don’t encounter until college, but at Marmion, it can be your reality in high school. In fact, CPARC has earned international awards for program innovation from Amazon Web Services.

Leadership ISN’T AN ACTIVITY ...

IT’S PART OF THE CURRICULUM At Marmion Academy, leadership goes far beyond extracurricular involvement. It is a foundational pillar of our educational mission. Marmion has built leadership directly into the academic experience. Every student participates in a dedicated leadership curriculum designed to cultivate character, responsibility, confidence, and service. We believe leadership isn’t something reserved for a select few—it’s a skill and mindset that can be developed in every young person.

Choose Your Path

One of the unique aspects of the Marmion experience is that students choose one of two leadership pathways that best fits their interests and goals. While each pathway offers a different approach, both share the same mission: students leave with the confidence, skills, and purpose to lead with integrity and make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

Leadership Education And Development

Students develop leadership through selfdiscipline, teamwork, communication, and service while learning valuable organizational and decision-making skills in a structured environment. The program’s mission is to motivate young people to be better citizens by emphasizing life skills, building character, and instilling the core values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.

A Benedictine focused leadership curriculum that intentionally develops students into leaders of character, faith, and service. Through dedicated leadership coursework, students grow in self-awareness, communication, ethical decision-making, and team leadership while completing meaningful projects, service experiences, public speaking opportunities, and a comprehensive digital leadership portfolio.

WHERE YOU WILL

Thrive

There isn’t a shortage of things to do on our 300-acre campus. In fact, you’ll have a tough time narrowing down what to choose from. Marmion Cadets are involved. Over 85% of our freshman students are in at least 1 club their freshman year and that number grows each year. With over 30 clubs, groups, and activities, you will feel right at home on campus. Join one of our student-led clubs ... or start your own!

Compete WITH PURPOSE

Step onto the field, court, course, or track, and step into something bigger at Marmion. Sports are more than wins and stats. They are about pushing yourself, showing up for your teammates, and learning how to lead under pressure. Student-athletes stay on top of academics with weekly grade checks, and many exceed expectations. • 83% of students participate in athletics • 75% of all varsity athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher and were named Academic All-Conference in the Chicago Catholic League

Hard work and dedication are two key factors in becoming a successful student-athlete. Over the past four years, 70 Marmion student-athletes have continued their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Approximately half of these athletes were also rewarded for their time and talent in the form of an athletic college scholarship from some of the best colleges and universities in the nation.

A PATH FOR

Everyone!

A Marmion education is an investment in your future — and we’re committed to making it possible for every student. Over the past 2 years, a total of $3 million was awarded to families in need-based assistance and merit-based scholarships. Nearly 50% of Marmion families are awarded financial assistance, with an average annual award of $7,000 per student.

Scholarships (Merit-Based)

Academic achievement deserves to be recognized. Marmion offers up to 15 four-year scholarships to incoming freshman students, totaling approximately $300,000 in awards. To qualify for merit-based scholarships, students must take the December entrance exam at Marmion.

Financial Assistance (Need-Based)

Marmion partners with the Blackbaud Tuition Management System to provide need-based financial aid. Once accepted at Marmion, families can apply through Blackbaud, and Marmion’s Financial Aid Committee will confidentially review and award aid based on demonstrated need. The Working for Your Education (WFYE) program gives aid recipients the chance to “pay it forward.” Students contribute work hours on campus in

exchange for their financial award, which builds ownership, character, and community. Tuition Reduction Program: Earn tuition credits just by shopping with the Marmion Cadet Cash Program. Through RaiseRight.com and the RaiseRight app, you can purchase gift cards at face value and receive retailer rebates that are applied directly to your tuition four times a year. Learn more at marmion.org/cadetcash.

Flexible Payment Options

Marmion partners with Blackbaud Tuition Management to offer four convenient payment plan options. Choose the schedule and method that fits your needs, with the convenience of automated payments so you never miss a deadline. (Tuition accounts are established in June each year, with the first payment due in June.)

Create an Admissions account (required) Once you create an account you can:

1. Register for the Scholarship Qualifying Entrance Exam. Students who wish to be considered for academic scholarships must take the exam at Marmion on the first Saturday in December at 9:00 AM. Scholarship packages are awarded by mid-January.

2. The online application must be completed by December 15 to be eligible for scholarship consideration. 3. Schedule a Student Shadow Visit between October and April (Optional but encouraged!)

Spend a half day on campus attending classes, meeting teachers, and enjoying lunch with us. We’ll pair your child with a current student who shares similar interests.
