2024-2025 Annual Report Dear Friends and Supporters, Another remarkable year has passed at Marmion, and I remain deeply grateful for the privilege of serving as Executive Director of Advancement. Nearly every day, I hear from alumni whose lives were shaped by their time here – each story a powerful reminder that Marmion is truly a special place. Our strong reputation is built not only on academic excellence, spiritual formation, and leadership development, but also on the steadfast support of our community. It is you—our alumni, parents (past and present), and friends—who make all of this possible. Each year, through your generous gifts to the Marmion Fund, you help bridge the $7,600-perstudent gap between tuition and the true cost of education. Your support also fuels scholarships and financial aid, strengthens our giving campaigns, sustains the Alumni Association programs, and ensures the success of our annual fundraiser, Salute to Youth. Collectively, these efforts guarantee that today’s students—and tomorrow’s—receive the exceptional Marmion experience and formation for which we are known. This 2024–2025 Annual Report acknowledges all who generously supported Marmion Abbey, Marmion Academy, Abbey Farms, and the Guatemala Priory during the fiscal year (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). Thanks to your generosity, Marmion received $7,200,000 in total gifts this past year from 1,776 donors across 46 states. Because of your commitment, we were able to make significant enhancements across our campus this year. We educated 410 students at the Academy and awarded $1.7 million in financial aid and scholarships, including $1.4 million in needbased assistance. We installed a new PA and Bell System to improve communication for announcements, prayer, and safety, and renovated the weight room to better support our student-athletes (82% of our students participate in at least one sport. Campus safety was strengthened with the installation of five additional security cameras, bringing our total to 105. We also purchased two new mini buses to serve student transportation needs, athletic teams, field trips, and band competitions, and added new video boards throughout campus to share daily messages and promote upcoming events and student accomplishments. Our Fine and Performing Arts program benefited from upgraded lighting and sound systems, as well as 30 new wireless microphones, four sousaphones, and four clarinets. In Alumni Hall, a new scoreboard system now enhances school spirit and athletic pride, and both the Abbey Church and the Regole Natatorium benefited from the installation of specialized new HVAC systems. We were especially blessed this year to receive two bequests totaling $1.8 million and three major gifts totaling $2.7 million—extraordinary contributions that enhanced the student experience and are helping us prepare to welcome young women to the Academy next year. Beyond the Academy, your generosity continues to sustain the ministries of Marmion Abbey. Your gifts provide for the monks’ healthcare, the education of younger monks, and the maintenance of Abbey facilities. Profits from Abbey Farms further support their daily needs. Likewise, your donations to the San José Priory in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, help the monks there serve communities in great need through your continued support of the Poor Souls mailing and Annual Appeal. St. Scholastica Award Marsha Bock was the recipient of the St. Scholastica Affiliate Award. This award honors an outstanding Catholic woman whose faith, generosity, and service have profoundly enriched Marmion Academy and strengthened our shared Benedictine mission. Marsha and her late husband Doug are the proud parents of Dave ’99, Mike ’98, Kate Ramos, and Sarah Peters. Her connection to Marmion runs deep. Marsha has served as a Sports Boosters volunteer, a Parents’ Club Officer, and, for 24 years, she was the heart and soul of the President’s and Principal’s Office.

Throughout her decades of service, Marsha supported four Academy leaders: Fr. Basil Yender, OSB ’61, John Milroy ’79, Dr. Jim Quaid, Anthony Tinerella ’84, and Joseph Large ’97 - offering her wisdom, grace, and unshakable support. Her warm smile and joyful spirit brightened every day. It became a beloved truth among the Marmion family that when asked, “Who really runs the Academy?” the answer was always the same: “Marsha Bock runs the school, of course.” Marsha’s remarkable ability to manage countless responsibilities - from staffing and school operations to compliance with the Illinois State Board of Education, IHSA, and the Rockford Diocese - reflected not only her professionalism, but her deep love for Marmion. Loved by all who know her, Marsha’s faith, kindness, and tireless dedication have been a true blessing to the Academy and Abbey communities. Her legacy will forever remain woven into the heart of Marmion Academy.

Abbey Affiliate Award Ryan Bohr ’92 was the recipient of the Abbey Affiliate Award. This award recognizes outstanding Catholic men who have demonstrated a deep and enduring commitment to Marmion Academy and its Benedictine mission. Affiliate Members share in the spiritual life of the Abbey through the monks’ Masses, prayers, and good works. Ryan Bohr and his wife, Emily (Rosary ’91), are the proud parents of six children: Jack, Austin ’13, Griffin ’20, Jude ’23, Max ’28, and Gwen. Ryan’s love for Marmion has never wavered. He has served faithfully Pictured (left to right): Griffin Bohr ’20, Sofia Aguilar (RHS ’20), on the Alumni Association Board, and since 2013, as a valued Max Bohr ’28, Ryan Bohr ’92, Jack Bohr, Emily Bohr (RHS ’91), member of the Board of Trustees, contributing his leadership and and Robert ’69 & Jane Bohr (Ryan’s parents) insight to the Executive, Finance, and Investment Committees. Ryan has also played a key role in guiding Marmion through its historic transition to a coeducational model. His commitment to Marmion athletics and his leadership in youth sports have brought thousands of families to our campus each year, introducing them to the vibrant spirit of the Marmion community. Ryan’s steadfast dedication to Marmion Academy and to the monks of Marmion Abbey is both inspiring and deeply appreciated.
