Mark Miller Subaru Neighbors, 2016 was a great year for Mark Miller Subaru and the communities we serve! This past year Mark Miller Subaru collaborated with dozens of non-profit organizations by participating in countless fundraising and outreach activities helping organizations raise the funds they need to grow their impact. During our annual Share the Love campaign, for example, we partnered with Subaru of America to donate nearly $60,000 to the Fourth Street Clinic and The Children’s Center. This contribution was so significant that Subaru of America bestowed Mark Miller Subaru with a “Share The Love Top Contributor of the Year Award” – the only Subaru dealership in Utah to be recognized! But why stop there?! This past spring, during Mark Miller Subaru’s exclusive Do Good Feel Good event, we partnered with Utah’s Hogle Zoo, Red Butte Garden, South Salt Lake Police Athletics and Activities League (PAL), and Recycle Utah to raise over $40,000 to support their respective efforts! In addition to our philanthropic support of local charities, we continue our commitment to preserving our environment as Utah’s only eco-friendly Subaru dealership. Our endeavors got an extra boost this past spring as we ‘went solar’ at our South Towne location, making both Mark Miller Subaru dealerships solar-powered buildings. We are proud to be the only Subaru dealerships in Utah that are “solar powered and ecofriendly!”. To top it off, we continue to plant a tree for every car we sell. This 1-for-1 initiative has led us to plant 14,000 new trees along the Wasatch front. September Love Promise Award Highlight The #LeaveYourMARK Campaign There are few experiences in life that bring people of all ages, sex and gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, races, color, and abilities. Mark Miller Subaru is proud to have created an experience this past summer which brought more than 100,000 people of all diverse backgrounds together through our #leaveyourMARK initiative. Over the past three months, Mark Miller Subaru “took to the streets” & participated in roughly 25 days of local events where we proudly invited people - ALL people - to #leavetheirMARK on a specially wrapped 2016 Subaru Outback. Our eagar participants left notes of love, encouragement, and oftentimes left silly cartoons as a way to express their unique personalities & passions. From messages proclaiming “Love Mother Earth” to a fun-loving dinosaur roaming a forrest, these notes and drawings were daily affirmations that good exists in our world. Most importantly, though, ALL people had a chance to #leavetheirMARK on this special Subaru which provided them an empowering sense of connectivity to one-another. It was moving beyond explanation watching a wheel-chair-bound blind man color next to an aging woman who, herself, stood next to a five-year-old black child. This is proof that, while people may be different, diversity is beautiful.. as beautiful as the work of art shown in our video. Diversity is love, and ‘Love is what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.’

Over the past nine years of The Share the Love campaign’s existence, Subaru of America will have donated $90 million dollars to charities across the United States. Mark Miller Subaru was proud to do their part by most recently raising roughly $60,000 for The Children’s Center and the Fourth Street Clinic in Utah! It’s amazing how the small things can make such a big difference. For the last two years, Mark Miller Subaru has been a proud partner of Project Oxygen, a program of Tree Utah. Tree Utah’s mission is to improve Utah’s quality of life for present and future generations by enhancing the environment through tree planting, stewardship and education. This partnership, which also includes Salt Lake County’s Million Trees initiative, is a commitment by the dealership to make a positive impact on the environment by planting a tree for every car they sell. This endeavor is part of the dealership’s ‘Driving Green’ program where Mark Miller Subaru participates in numerous sustainable efforts to help improve Utah’s poor air quality and give back to the local community. Along with Tree Utah and numerous volunteers, Mark Miller Subaru has planted over 14,000 new trees since the partnership began in 2014! One for one – because it’s the right thing to do!

For the first time in the 40-year history of the Utah Arts Festival (UAF), the doors of the Festival were open to all people – free of charge – on the first night of the event! This was only possible because Mark Miller Subaru (MMS) joined a handful of other institutions (including the State of Utah) in underwriting costs associated with Festival admission. While this may seem like a relatively small act of kindness, this was one of the most important element’s of this year’s event. Utah is home to a large minority population (including larger than normal Hispanic and refugee communities) who traditionally cannot afford events like the Arts Festival. MMS decided to support the Festival in making it accessible to all people regardless of their ability to pay. In addition to underwriting admission, MMS hosted a unique “Community Art Project” during the Festival which more than 25,000 people participated in! As the exclusive automotive partner of the Festival, the Outback was named the “Official Vehicle” of the Festival and was wrapped

Love. It’s a pledge that the Mark Miller Subaru takes very seriously & showing their love by supporting the community is at the top of the list. This spring, that love was in full force at the Do Good Feel Good event. Now in its 8th year, the event was a chance to help local charities by donating $75 every time a car was sold in April. Four charities were chosen including, Utah’s Hogle Zoo, Red Butte Garden, South Salt Lake PAL & Recycle Utah. It was a resounding success with a total of more than $40,000 being donated & culminated with a Community Day on May 7. It was a true celebration with a band, food trucks, a bounce house, radio stations broadcasting live & charity booths. Former Utah Jazz player Thurl Bailey was on hand to present checks to the charities & share his thoughts on the importance of giving back. Also on the agenda was the “flipping of the switch” by Senator Jim Dabakis to mark the dealership going solar & endeavors as Utah’s only eco-friendly dealership. The day ended with a Legacy Premium giveaway. Do Good Feel Good has raised over $380,000 for local charities since it began. “This event is really exactly what it says,” said Jeff Miller, Mark Miller Subaru GM. “We are committed to being an active part of our community & including our customers in that. It really does feel good to be able to give back to charities that do so much in our own backyard.”

Mark Miller Subaru in Salt Lake City truly leads the way for LGBTQ+ Pride in Utah. In fact, Mark Miller Subaru was the proud presenting sponsor of this year’s Pride Parade! As the presenting sponsor of both the parade and the festival-opening Sapphire Spectacular Gala, the dealerships support of the LGBTQ community was in full effect. Employees and friends joined to carry banners, pass out wristbands and cupcakes and drive a colorful line-up of Subaru’s including an Outback wrapped in Pride colors, a Forester, a Crosstrek hybrid and a sleek black WRX tricked out with a four-thousand-dollar sound system that played tunes along the parade route. Mark Miller Subaru was proud to be such a big part of this year’s pride festival, and in light of recent events nationally in the gay community, strong support and love for that population locally and beyond becomes more and more important. When Mark Miller Subaru in Salt Lake City, Utah says that they love their customers, those aren’t just words, they truly put that love into action. This past spring, a Salt Lake woman’s parked van was hit in her parent’s driveway by an alleged burglar who stole a truck and then crashed it during the ensuing police chase. After contacting her insurance company, the truck’s insurance, and even her parent’s insurance company, no one would accept her claim and she was left carless by no fault of her own. Mark Miller Subaru’s GM, Jeff Miller heard the story and decided to step in and help. Within days, he had pulled a van off of his used lot and went to surprise the woman with a new set of wheels. Amidst tears of joy gratitude, the woman learned first-hand what Mark Miller Subaru’s commitment to community is all about.

It was so popular that members of the MMS team had to continually clean portions of the car to allow for more individuals to participate! The most rewarding part of this community art project, however, was the widerange of individuals who participated in creating this visually stunning master-piece!

Thanks to the 2015 Share the Love event, Mark Miller Subaru supported The Children’s Center in Salt Lake City, Utah in the renovation of our Imagination Playground.

Not only did Mark Miller Subaru help us raise over $34,000 for the playground, the staff at the dealership also volunteered time and assisted us in removing the existing equipment and installing the new equipment. The dollars raised and the manual help were instrumental in making this project possible. Perhaps viewed as “just a playground” it is important to realize that our new Imagination Playground is so much more than that. For many of our children (ages 0-6) served at The Children’s Center, some form of trauma has been a central part of their very young lives. As a result, these young children have lost the ability to play and use their imagination in a typical and important way. The creation of our Imagination Playground has allowed our children to once again experience play and regain parts of their childhood that were perhaps lost. We are so grateful to Mark Miller Subaru and Subaru of America for their ongoing support of local communities and national organizations who play a critical role in reaching those who need it most.

Eco-friendly Dealership As part of Subaru of America’s Eco-Friendly Dealer Program Mark Miller Subaru has dedicated themselves to reducing their carbon footprint in the daily business world. The program is specifically designed with Subaru dealerships and customers in mind. Mark Miller Subaru achieved the Eco-Friendly Dealer status by meeting requirements in the five key areas: energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, waste management and community involvement.


Project Oxygen Project Oxygen is a joint endeavor with TreeUtah and Salt Lake County to help plant more trees in Salt Lake County. Starting on January 1, 2013 Mark Miller Subaru pledged to plant one tree for every new or pre-owned vehicle they sell. The planting events occur twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, at a location in Salt Lake County. Over 2,000 trees are planted at each event. All employees, customers and vendors are invited to attend these events. Mark Miller Subaru has planted more than 14,000 trees since the beginning of this partnership.

2017 Subaru Legacy Luxury



The Legacy is Subaru’s luxury sedan. Hands down the most comfortable sedan Subaru has because of the abundance of passenger space and furnishing. The technology and features like starlink with Pandora satellite gps and Bluetooth connectivity are a must. All this, without sacrificing the cargo space to carry your golf clubs and groceries.

Safety has not and will not become a secondary priority. A benefit to the boxer engine is the horizontal design. When in a front end collision, the engine can drop to the ground and pass under the passengers instead of into them causing great damage.

2017 Subaru Crosstrek The Crosstrek is a happy cross between the outback and the impreza. Share the Love is a nationwide Subaru event where dealers give back to local charities. In 2015 Mark Miller Subaru was recognized as Utah’s “Largest Subaru Share The Love Contributor” because we raised ~$60,000 to build a playground for children undergoing therapy and to help offer much-needed medical services to the homeless. Simply put, PZEV means that our cars exceed stringent emissions standards established by city, county, and state governments! Oh, and to sweeten the deal, parking in downtown Salt Lake City is FREE for those with a low-emitting vehicle (visit to see if your vehicle qualifies). Mark Miller Subaru has joined with the Wasatch Front Subaru Retailers group to host a weekly “Pet of the Week,” spotlighting a furry friend that needs rescue. This collaborative partnership with the Humane Society of Utah helps these pets find their forever homes. We also host bi-annual pet chipping events where we foot the bill for the cost of over 200 animals getting microchipped. We work hard to help keep all animals, including your companion, safe! Oh, and have we mentioned Suba Bleu Miller? As the only dealership in Utah with an employee who walks on all four, Mark Miller Subaru is truly barking the bark! The adoption of Bleu reaffirms our commitment to helping animals find their “Furr-ever” home in Utah! We love our newest employee, we hope you’ll stop by and visit him someday!
