A MESSAGE FROM JEREMY

T

here has been plenty happening over the last few months, with plenty more in-store as we head rapidly into the Christmas period!

You may have noticed there has been a change to our centre management team with myself taking over from Jodee in the July period. Having worked closely with Jodee for many years prior I’m looking forward to continuing on from the great work Jodee has done in her time here and, meeting you all as I get around the centre.

Development works for the Laneway commenced in July! As announced previously these works will see a new centre entry adjoining the new bus interchange and light rail. The works will include the creation of a single storey restaurant and a single storey kiosk with seating areas for each. Works are progressing to schedule with the concrete dock having now been removed and services being prepared.

You may have also noticed new street art appearing on the walls which gives a sneak peek to what lies ahead.

The DA for our Stage 4 expansion has been lodged and, after public consultation, will be assessed by the Government. We are excited at the prospect of creating an enhanced shopping experience for the Town Centre which will deliver a fresh approach to retailing in Canberra and see the inclusion of an expanded Aldi supermarket.

We will keep you advised of the progress of the application and you can review the plans and further details on our website.

This is such a bustling retail area and I’d encourage you all to engage with Beth from marketing on the various activities in train (or let her know of any ideas you have), so as we can continue to work together to drive customers and sales.

big warm (pun intended) welcome to the Spring Edition of Marketplace Messages!

Here are some tips for you to nail seasonal marketing this Spring; 1.

As the calendar flips to spring most people begin an annual rite of passage. We stuff our puffer jackets back into our cupboards, dust off the outdoor furniture and give the BBQ a good clean, and declutter from the winter shut-in.

Not only does the change in season bring about the above, consumer behaviours and spending habits tend to alter. People’s buying habits change throughout the year, as seasonal weather can often dictate how, and on what, people spend their money on. Take advantage of this knowledge by adapting your messages to what your consumers’ needs and wants are during the warmer seasons.

Look at ways you can strategically provide your consumers with comprehensive, targeted content marketing—whether is be via social media, email, website, point of sale signage or staff incentives—keep your content marketing efforts fresh, original and aligned with the season.

Push products that align with the season, such as; gardening, camping, cleaning, races fashion, salads and smoothies! You can subtly push these products via hashtags and selected imagery.

2. Freshen up your content with some strong seasonal call to actions—promote spring cleaning, getting outside, getting ready for summer … and why not encourage your customers to try new behaviours and hobbies!

3. Fill up your social media with fun and trending National Days and make it relevant to your store/products. See following page for National Hashtag Holidays to get those brains ticking!

It is essential that no items are ever stored in fire exit locations. They are to remain completely clear, for tenant and customer safety, should the Centre require evacuation in the event of a fire.

Access into the Centre via our loading docks is often obstructed by crates and pallets that are not collected by suppliers once they have been emptied.
