FEES AND FUNDING PAYING FOR YOUR COURSE Course fees are listed against each course and you can pay using the following methods: • Debit or credit card • Direct Debit (instalments plan) • Invoice

HELP WITH CHILDCARE Students aged under 20 at the start of their course who care for their own child(ren) can claim for childcare and travel costs to and from their childcare provider.

They can claim up to £160 per child per week and applications are made through www.gov.uk/care-to-learn/ overview or 0800 121 8989.

Please note the childcare provider must be Ofsted registered.

The Advanced Learner Loan is available to students aged 19 and over to fund courses from Level 3 to 6 like Access to Higher Education courses and Diplomas.

The loan will cover your fees so you won’t have to pay anything upfront. You also won’t start paying it back until after the course is completed and you are earning £21,000+ a year. Plus, if you then go on to complete a full degree your loan for the Access course will be written off.

If you are 19 or older and fulfil government conditions you could be entitled to a funded course and study for free!

CERTIFICATES Many of our part-time courses lead to qualifications recognised by industry bodies such as City & Guilds. Employers may need you to have these certificates to recognise your competence to do the job.

LEVEL 2 Equivalent to GCSE level study.

These courses provide skills to do the job. Completing an Apprenticeship programme will earn you a Level 2 qualification.

LEVEL 3 Equivalent to A Level study.

This level is suited to supervisory grades of employment and provides entry to university.

An Advanced Apprenticeship will include a Level 3 qualification.

LEVEL 4 Level 4 qualifications are the first level of a degree and are also the level for many professionally accredited programmes. These indicate advanced level skill and knowledge. Many of these programmes are eligible for Advanced Learner Loans, so you don’t have to pay anything upfront.

ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION COURSES MISSED OUT ON TAKING YOUR EDUCATION TO DEGREE LEVEL? These one year courses prepare you to study at degree level if you do not yet have the qualifications to apply. They are specifically designed to give you the foundation skills and knowledge to go on and study a degree.

We offer Access Diplomas at Andover in the following subjects: • Humanities • Nursing and Healthcare • Science • Social Sciences • Social Work

This course is eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan which is available to students aged 19 and over to fund courses from Level 3 to 6.

GCSE Maths and English grade requirements explained for 2017-2018: • Application includes initial assessment to find out if a GCSE is the right course for you, it is essential you have either a D at GCSE or a grade 3 from the 9-1 new marking series.

• Fully exam based, attendance on these courses will be part-time on a Wednesday evening from 6-8.30pm.
