15 October
Thank God for our Ministry Support Team who coach, mentor and advise local youth and children’s ministers. Pray that this term’s network meetings of those ministers will encourage, equip and teach reliable men and women (2 Tim 2:2) to disciple the young people in their churches to maturity in Christ.
22 October
Thank God for the NSW government’s investment in an online school enrolment system. Pray that every NSW public school will empower parents to access information about how to choose a faith education for their child/ren. Pray for a doubling of enrolments in SRE and for churches to take the opportunity to recruit more trained SRE teachers.
29 October
Praise God that Christian Outdoor Education can’t keep up with demand from schools for gospel-centred adventure education. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will raise up more trainee guides (Matt 9:3738), and that the thousands of school students booked on camps this term will taste and see that the Lord is good (Ps 34:8).
5 November
Over 400 primary school kids are gathering with their Sunday school teachers over our two Square One camps across two weekends. Pray for many ‘little ones’ to entrust their lives to Christ (Matt 19:14), for leaders to deepen safe disciple-making relationships with them, and for Jesus to continue to build his church (Matt 16:18).
12 November
Pray that God will convict our Year 13 students of commitments made this year to live for Jesus all the days of their lives (Acts 20:32). Pray that at least 70 school leavers will commit to Year 13 in 2024, and the 2023 graduation financial appeal will raise $130,000 needed to finance the ministry of Year 13.
19 November
Ask God to raise up trainee outdoor educators, students at Youthworks College and the Centre for Christian Education, that more adults might be trained, equipped and willing to use their skills and passions to partner with local churches and schools to see young people established in Christ.
26 November
Thank our Heavenly Father for the 250,000+ school students who have heard the good news of the gospel this year in their SRE classes. Pray that He might not let his Word return to him empty but achieve His every purpose for His glory in their Youthworks resourced SRE classes (Isa 55:11).
3 December
Thank God for the generous support of Youthworks donors who ensure our Ministry Support Team, SRE Office and Youthworks College can continue to build the capacity of local churches to deliver effective ministry to young people. Pray that our great God will meet all their needs in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:18-19), that Youthworks’ ministries might be resourced to expand their reach and impact.
10 December
We thank God for Youthworks staff. For the good works God has prepared in advance for them to walk in this year (Ephesians 2:10) - discipling, training, guiding, preaching, teaching, writing, publishing, cooking, caring, and building. Pray our staff may rest in His provision, ready to give their all again for the gospel in 2024.
17 December
Praise God for the beautiful Conference Centres entrusted to Youthworks in the Royal National Park (400 beds), on the Shoalhaven River (200 beds) and in Springwood (100 beds). Pray that every guest will experience Christian hospitality (Rom 12:13), be struck by the majesty of creation (Rom 1:18-20), deepen relationships with friends and that God will choose and sanctify each of them through His Spirit (2 Thess 2:13).
24 December
Praise God that, ‘The true light that gives light to every person’ (John 1:9) has come into the world. Pray that pastors everywhere this Christmas will preach the Word faithfully with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power (1 Cor 2:4).
31 December
Praise God that He stands over time and has our time in His hands. Pray that He will bless our churches with His favour, and the ministry of Youthworks to their flourishing in 2024.
7 January
Thank God for a busy summer camping season ahead. Pray He will prepare the hearts of the several thousand young people on church camps and our Leaders in Training camps, to hear, receive and understand the Word preached to them, and go on to produce a crop, ‘yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown’ (Matt 13:23).
Thank you for your prayers as together we orient young people for life in Christ!
