Welcome all to Loughborough University, where today we host Newport (Salop).

Welcome to all players and officials from the club, in what we hope will be another great game of National League Rugby. Our previous encounter this year was our first fixture, and we are excited to welcome them to campus for the first time.

Last week proved to be a rest week for the group, with the away game against Hinckley being a victim of the frost. The BSR group had a fixture against England U20s on Campus, so attention turned to support the group in preparation for their fixture last night against Nottingham University.

Today’s guests have come into the new National 2 West league, and a first for Loughborough to play against each other. This is a competitive league now and many results aren’t a foregone conclusion, with our away fixture a prime example. It was a high scoring game and a lastminute score being the decisive outcome.

Good luck to everyone this weekend playing, in particular our Lightning team who play Worcester Warriors away.

Thanks again for supporting the squad today, it’s been great to see familiar faces every week.
