CHLOE YOUNG CAPTAIN

New competition, new opponents and a fresh week to go again.

Whilst our game last week was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, thankfully our match from the week before has plenty of talking points for me to write about!

We went into the Brighouse game full of confidence. We’d been playing well, dominating possession and creating chances and I think we all knew it was an opportunity to get a result against a team that have been performing well this season as shown by the league table. We started the game bright, creating chances from the first minute and didn’t really look back. 4-1 up, we were the better team, with more possession and looked a threat every time we went forward. However, as we know in this league, switch off and get punished. 4-4 in the last minute, before an unbelievable strike from Bensted with the last kick of the ball to win us those deserved 3 points. It was amazing to have so much support and having the younger ones coming to be our mascots. What a game it was, plenty of goals and action which hopefully inspire them to keep going and one day be a Loughborough lightning player.
