CAPTURING THE ELITE. SLIM AARONS’ “POOLSIDE IN SOTOGRANDE” The American society photographer Slim Aarons was famous for his pictures of the rich and famous at play. His ‘poolside’ shots of 1975 capture a unique glimpse of Sotogrande society, with sun-tanned bodies lazing by crystal-blue pools surrounded by clipped jade green lawns.

History Established in 1998, Gumuchdjian Architects has designed the Hauser & Wirth gallery, the Butler Family Collection museum, the Giant Recycled Paper Building, the Marylebone Performing Arts Centre in London, and the Think Tank in Ireland. The design of the Monocle ”Clamp Lamp” for the Monocle Shop led to the design of The Midori House in London, the headquarters for Monocle Magazine and sister company Winkreative. Recent commissions include Continental Apartments – 18 luxurious high-rise apartments in central Stockholm with a penthouse complete with 70-tonne suspended pool, Aspvik House – a summer house in Stockholm’s archipelago which has been widely published and Karlatornet – the design of the penthouses and premium residential levels of Scandinavia’s highest building in Gothenburg.

History UNStudio, founded in 1988 by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos, is an international architectural design studio specialising in architecture, interior architecture, product design, urban development and infrastructural projects. The name UNStudio, stands for United Network Studio, referring to the collaborative nature of the practice. In 2009, UNStudio Asia was established, with its first office located in Shanghai, China. Initially serving to facilitate the design process for the Raffles City project in Hangzhou, UNStudio Shanghai has expanded into a full-service design office with a multinational team of all-round and specialist architects. History In 1995 JSA was established, with four employees in a rented office space at Helsfyr, with the engineering company Cowi. The first commissions included a number of trial projects for the national tourist road projects (as the result of a first prize in an invited competition), resulting, among other projects, in Liasanden layby and Videseter viewing platform. In 1997 JSA moved to the downtown area of Oslo to new offices, with six employees. A number of new projects, like the Mortensrud church, the Tautra convent and the Oslo Design and Architecture center were among the commissions during this period. In 2005 the office moved to new spaces in Fredensborgveien, now with a staff of eight. Commissions at this time included the Bad Gleichenberg hotel in Austria, the Gudbrandsjuvet projects for the National Tourist Project and the Juvet Landscape Hotel. Summer House Storfjord

In 2010 the office moved to a former car work shop located at Carl Berner, in Sinsenveien 4D, outside the downtown area, using it almost as it was, with some furniture and a few walls added. The staff is now nine people. Torunn Golberg and Torstein Koch became partners in 2012.
