Location

JCU’s MA degree in International Affairs takes advantage of its unique location in Rome and the city’s intellectually vibrant past and present. Seminars and courses take place at John Cabot University’s campuses in the centrally located Trastevere district of Rome.

The focus of the program and its faculty reflect the political character of the city itself, which is the birthplace of the Roman Republic and the European Economic Community and serves as a host of the United Nations hub for Food Security and Development.

Our graduate courses are taught by professors from John Cabot University’s Department of Political Science and International Affairs who are widely recognized in their fields of study, frequently consulted for professional advice, and often featured in international media outlets.

Our faculty members have developed special expertise in the politics of Europe, the United States, and the Mediterranean, thanks to substantial experience in the fields of human rights and international law, diplomacy, international relations, and security governance. They have worked in various policy-making capacities and served as advisors to the United Nations World Food Program, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the European Union, the U.S. State Department, the Holy See, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The degree program can be completed in three semesters of full-time study (Fall-Spring-Fall). Students may accelerate their time in the program by taking additional courses during the Summer Term and Foundation Year. The program includes the following major components:

John Cabot participates in the Title IV Federal Direct Loan Programs for graduate students who are U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents of the U.S. The MA program is approved for recipients of the Post 9/11 GI Bill. Graduate students also have the option to apply for private loans to help finance their studies at JCU.
