Earlier this month, the IRS announced a new pilot program for pre-examination retirement plan compliance. The program is effective immediately. Under this program, plan sponsors would be notified by a letter from the IRS that they have been selected for a future examination. The letter will explain that the sponsor has 90 days to review its plan documents as well as operations to ensure compliance with current tax law and respond to the letter. If no response is provided by the plan sponsor, the examination will proceed.

In its grand re-opening event on August 20, 2022, the Art League of Long Island celebrates its triumph over adversity and invites the public to join them. The pandemic almost closed the Art League for good, but through the support of the community and government programs, the Art League has managed to weather the storm. The Open House, which takes place from 11am to 2pm that day, kicks off the opening reception of the Art League’s Annual Instructor’s Exhibition. The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery is open free of charge Tuesdays & Thursdays 10am-8pm, and Fridays & Saturdays 10am-3pm. The Art League is located at 107 East Deer Park Road in Dix Hills. Family Service League (FSL), the premier Long Island based non-profit human service organization, is pleased to announce that its fourth annual WALK for Wellness is scheduled for 9am on Saturday, September 10, 2022 (rain or shine) at Belmont Lake State Park in North Babylon. This walk, run, and bike 1.5 Mile or 5K family fun event will bring together generous sponsors, donors, community members, and staff. This will generate much needed funds for vital programs that thousands of Long Islanders depend on every day - - - mental health counseling, addiction prevent & treatment, housing, trauma counseling, early education, senior support services, and so much more. The day’s festivities include entertainment, children’s activities, and fitness tips.

On May 6, Frank Boulton, Founder/CEO/ Owner, Long Island Ducks, was the guest speaker at the LIMBA (Long Island Metro Business Action) meeting at Fairfield Properties Ballpark in Central Islip. During the presentation, he talked about the formation of the Ducks and the league in which it plays, the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Before becoming involved as a baseball team owner, he worked for the financial firms Smith Barney and UBS Securities. In the mid-1980s, he bought the New York Yankees’ minorleague Class-A team in Prince William County, Va., and the Class-AA Albany Colonie Yankees.
