The Long Island Regional FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition season will kick off on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Knowing only that this year’s theme is 2022 RAPID REACTSM presented by The Boeing Company, local FIRST teams, and the 4,000 teams representing 35 countries around the world, will receive this year’s game rules via a video feed that will be broadcast at the same time across the globe. Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP (“FDT”)

Congratulates partner Stephanie M. Alberts on being appointed Co-Chair of the firm’s Tax, Trusts & Estates practice group. Her appointment was effective January 1, 2022. In addition, Cora A. Pappas was promoted to a Tax, Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant. She is solely responsible for assisting attorneys prepare documents and for court proceedings, liaising between attorneys and clients and onboarding departmental assistants. Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP has promoted three attorneys, effective January 1, 2022. Kimberly Barresi (formerly Klein) is now a Partner in the Commercial Lending and Banking Group; Noreen Chen is now Of Counsel to the Commercial Lending and Banking Group; and Robert Nosek is now Of Counsel to the Bankruptcy and Debtor/Creditor Rights Group. All three attorneys were previously Associates at the firm.

Luckman, a Partner and Chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring practice group, was elected President of the Turnaround Management Association’s (TMA) Long Island Chapter. His oneyear term was effective January 1, 2022. Mr. Luckman is also a member of the Chapter’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. where the Firm held its annual holiday party on December 17. By working together with East Wind and Island Harvest, Twomey Latham has helped feed local families in need, which continues a firm tradition of supporting food pantries.

Lorraine Botti, of Huntington, has been elected to the board of directors at the non-profit Association for Mental Health and Wellness based in Ronkonkoma. Botti, the Marketing Lead at Stony Brook University’s Neurosciences Institute, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond, Virginia.

He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.S. from St. John’s University. Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, LLP – a premier law firm with offices in Westbury, Ronkonkoma, and Riverhead - is pleased to announce that Senior Partners Scott Middleton and Christine Malafi have been named to the Judicial Screening Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association (SCBA). The Committee is tasked with investigating the background, experience, and other qualifications of candidates seeking to run for judicial office in Suffolk County to ensure that potential nominees are qualified to serve on the bench. The Committee consists of 25 active members of the SCBA of recognized standing, judgment and independence, and serve for a term of three years or until their successor is appointed.
