Welcome to the 194 th Session of the Ohio South Ohio Annual Conference! We want to express our appreciation for your presence as we gather here at Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal in Forest Park, Ohio.
As we embark on a new season under the leadership of Bishop Stafford J. N. Wicker and Rev. Dr. Constance Belin Wicker, we have the opportunity to meet this week and continue the work that Richard Allen began 237 years ago.
Thanks be to each Presiding Elder, Pastor, Lay Person, Missionary and YPD’er who, in the spirit of Ida B. Wells-Barnett, remain on the wall, stand in the public square, and speak truth to power. We have much work to do to prepare for this most important 2024 Presidential Election. It is important that we keep our hands in God's hands, our feet on the ground, and our hope in a better tomorrow. I pray that each of you are committed to the work of our ancestors which helped to create.
We must continue the fight against the workers of iniquity, pray as we deal with wickedness in high places and, of unchecked power and oppression. This is our time to stand together and utilize our voice and our vote!!!
As an attendee of this historic 194th Session of the Ohio South Ohio Conference, You Are Family! We are truly thankful for our Bishop and Supervisor, for our hosts; Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. LaCreta Clark, Our Co-Host; Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. Aimee Anderson, and the many people who make up our great Ohio South Ohio Conference.
We thank God for the myriad of ways in which we are able to gather unapologetically and unashamedly, share the truth, and remain faithful to the cause of Christ.
