STUDENT RESIDENCE

SPRING 2024

Modeling: Revit & Twinmotion

Drafting: Revit

Students were tasked with designing a student residence on a proposed site at 500 Macpherson Avenue, Toronto. They conducted a site visit to gather information and prepare a site analysis report on the location’s characteristics. The project required the integration of barrier-free design, adherence to Parts 9 and 3 of the Ontario Building Code, and compliance with Toronto zoning bylaws. Additionally, this project aimed to help students become more proficient with concrete construction and CAD drawing standards.

STEEL FRAME WAREHOUSE

WINTER 2024

Modeling: Revit & Twinmotion

Drafting: Revit

In this project, we were tasked with designing a warehouse with an office, focusing on curtain wall systems, steel framing, and compliance with Part 3 of the Ontario Building Code and Vaughan’s zoning by-laws. I worked on the design and technical drawing of the first floor and the office space, using Revit. The structure included Precast Concrete walls, Metal Stud construction, and a glass curtain wall for the office, supported by steel beams. A major focus was on making the office area barrier-free, ensuring it met accessibility standards. This project helped strengthen my Revit skills and broadened my understanding of warehouse design. We use Bim 360 for collaboration, which was incredibly helpful for our group work.

GARDEN

SUITE PROJECT

SPRING 2024

Modeling: Revit and V-Ray

Drafting: Revit

This project aims to design a Garden Suite in North York, Toronto. The suite is a 2-storey rental unit with a basement, emphasizing environmental sustainability and flexible living options, such as live/work spaces and multi-generational living. The site is surrounded by residential homes, with ongoing commercial and residential redevelopment in the vicinity. The original site featured an in-ground swimming pool, which had to be removed for this project. Though a large new house has since been built on the site, our project focused on the previous state, utilizing an older survey plan that depicted the original house layout.

2D & 3D DETAIL DRAWINGS WINTER 2025

Modeling: Revit

Drafting: Revit

In this section, I present two 2D drawings and one 3D model created during the “Sustainable Materials & Methods 4” course in semester six. Completing this assignment enhanced my ability to produce detailed architectural drawings that adhere to industry standards for the graphic illustration of architectural details.

Overall Feedback:

1. top track of stud is a steel stud track, not a heavy steel lintel 2. 45 degree cut on the cant strip typical 3.most bitumen roof have two layers bitumen ply 4.There should be no membrane of the semirigid wall insulation

MAJESTIC HOUSE

WINTER 2023

Modeling: SketchUp & V-Ray

Drafting: AutoCAD

In the second semester, we worked on a project focused on wood frame houses, adhering to Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code and Toronto Zoning bylaws. In pairs, we designed a residential home that met client requirements, featuring two exterior finishes, various room specifications, and a unique combination of contrasting double-sloped roofs with a green wall. The project balanced creativity with strict compliance to building guidelines.
