All participants and spectators are asked to adhere to guidance provided by law enforcement during Historic Half Weekend. Runners and spectators also will be guided through screening points at the Historic Half start areas.

All runner and spectator bags, backpacks, purses, etc., will be subject to search by U.S. Marines and law enforcement at all of the screening points. Participants will be provided a clear plastic bag during Packet Pick-up at the Healthy Lifestyle Expo. Only these clear plastic bags will be allowed at the Baggage tent located near the Historic Half and Devil Dog Double start area or on the U-haul baggage truck parked at the Semper 5ive start area.

On event day, participants may carry or wear hydration backpacks or vests and/or fuel belts while completing the Historic Half courses. Wearing a costume masks, hood, or other device that conceals a substantial portion of the face is strictly prohibited. Glass containers, flammable liquids or weapons of any kinds are not allowed at any event location.

In addition, all drones are prohibited as the area is designated a “no drone zone” by the Federal Aviation Administration. Drones are also prohibited in all National Park Service locations.

Runners and spectators are asked by the Marine Corps Marathon Organization and law enforcement partners to actively observe their surroundings while also supporting the procedures put in place to ensure the safety of all persons present. If something suspicious is observed, individuals should report it immediately, either by calling 911 or by asking a police officer, or U.S. Marine, for assistance. Remember, if you “See Something,Say Something.”
