OUR VENUE

With impressive spaces for every kind of celebration, Marine & Lawn Slieve Donard can accommodate weddings of all sizes and styles - from an intimate marriage ceremony in the Annesley Room, a banquet in the magnificent Grand Ballroom, or a relaxed dinner and dancing in the Chandelier Room.

THE GRAND BALLROOM One of the largest function suites in Northern Ireland, the Grand Ballroom is built for the kind of wedding people talk about for years afterwards. Four hundred guests sit comfortably here, and the room still feels generous - high ceilings, room to move between tables, and a dance floor once the band starts.

THE CHANDELIER ROOM The views are what people notice first: the sea just beyond the glass, changing colour as the evening goes on. Receptions here hold up to 300 well-wishers, or 140 for a seated dinner. It's our most-requested space, and the one couples tend to settle on once they've seen it — helped by the Brunel Lounge next door, which opens the evening out for drinks receptions that spill onto the front lawn.

BRUNEL LOUNGE Floor-to-ceiling windows look out to the mountains and the sea, and doors open straight onto the front lawns. There's 13 a dedicated bar, which keeps the evening self-contained. Lovely for receptions and dinners of up to 100.

ANNESLEY ROOM A grand, classic room on the ground floor, with gorgeous columns, statement chandeliers and an original fireplace that's been the backdrop throughout the hotel's history. Sixty guests fit here without the room feeling crowded, which makes it a favourite for ceremonies and intimate celebrations. Candlelight suits it particularly well.

DRAWING ROOM Tucked off the main lobby with views over the lawn to the sea, the Drawing Room holds 25 and feels more like a private sitting room than an event space. It's where rehearsal dinners happen, and welcome drinks the night before, when the people who've travelled furthest arrive first. 14

BEFORE You Wed

The days either side of a wedding are often the ones people remember best. Tell our Wedding Coordinator what you'd like and we'll arrange the rest.

OUT INTO THE MOURNES Tollymore Forest is ten minutes from the door, and a guided walk through it is the easiest way to give guests a morning they'll talk about. Bikes are available if people would rather make their own way along the coast, and for mountaineers, Slieve Donard itself is a half-day climb with a view worth the effort.

A SLOWER DAY The spa is here for those who'd rather spend the day horizontal, with treatments for you and your wedding party in the run-up to the ceremony. Afternoon tea suits the same mood - a private lunch or a festive afternoon for family and friends without anyone having to leave the building.

INTO THE SEA Our own gate opens onto the beach, so a cold-water swim before breakfast takes no organising at all. It's become a favourite with wedding parties, and there is nothing like it for clearing the head the morning after.

THE MORNING OF Our bridal get-ready room is set up for the purpose, with room for your wedding party and your hair and makeup team.

AND AFTERWARDS Celebrate with a stay at one of our properties in Scotland or Northern Ireland. Explore your options, then leave it to our Wedding Coordinator to book the rest. WEDDINGS • MARINE & LAWN SLIEVE DONARD
