A floor-to-ceiling glass wall runs the length of the room, looking out across the Firth of Forth to Craigleith and the islands beyond, so the view changes with the light all the way through dinner. A wrap-around balcony opens off it, along with doors into the walled garden, and the suite has its own bar and private entrance.

An open-air setting for spring and summer weddings, with room for 170 inside old stone walls that make it feel like its own world. It works as a ceremony space, and 13 as the place everyone spills out to with a drink once the Fidra doors are open.

PICTURE Perfect

It's hard to take a bad picture at Marine & Lawn North Berwick. The Victorian frontage and the gardens make elegant settings for portraits and group shots, while the West Links offers open ground and long coastal light. The beach is a short walk from the hotel, with Bass Rock rising out of the Firth beyond. We'd always recommend saving time for the last of the evening light.
