Criteria: Program interest in metal fabrication, metal manufacturing, or welding. Applicants must explain financial need. Minimum 12 enrollment hours. Applicants must have already completed at least 6 credit hours in related coursework. Residency requirement: U.S. citizen and Arizona resident for tuition purposes. Amount: $1,150 ($575 Fall 2009 / $575 Spring 2010). CSI LifeLine Scholarship GPA Required: 2.0. Criteria: Program interest in machine trades, electronics, welding, HVAC, automotive technology. Applicants must explain financial need. Minimum 6 enrollment hours. Preference for female students. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Amount: $500 ($250 Fall 2009 / $250 Spring 2010). Medtronic Scholarship GPA Required: 2.0. Campus: Mesa Community College, Glendale Community College, GateWay Community College, Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Criteria: Program interest in semiconductor processes. Applicants must explain financial need. Minimum 6 enrollment hours. Amount Term: $1,500 ($750 Fall 2009 / $750 Spring 2010). Phelps Dodge Scholarship GPA Required: 3.5. Criteria: Program interest in engineering, computer science, geology, or math with an intent to pursue a degree in mining and manufacturing. Applicants must explain financial need. Minimum 12 enrollment hours. Residency requirement: U.S. citizen and Arizona resident for tuition purposes. Applicants must have already completed at least 18 credit hours. Amount: $1,500 ($750 Fall 2009 / $750 Spring 2010). SUMCO USA Scholarship GPA Required: 3.0. Criteria: Program interest in semiconductor processes. Applicants must explain financial need. Minimum 6 enrollment hours. Amount: $250 (Fall 2009). Application deadline: August 1, 2009 NSF Scholarships for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Program (S-STEM) www.cgc.maricopa.edu/engineering The overarching goal of the Chandler-Gilbert Community College High Tech Transfer Program Scholars (HTTPS) Project is to provide specialized educational opportunities and services for academically talented full-time financial-aid eligible students with majors or program interests pursuing degrees in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Anyone with a financial need can apply. All HTTPS recipients will have an ultimate goal to complete an Associate Degree and/or transfer to a Baccalaureate Degree-granting institution, and a long term goal of entering the workforce in their skill area. Average scholarship is $2500 per semester, or $5000 per year. Eligibility Requirements: • Be enrolled full time (12+ credit hours) at CGCC in a degree program at the associate level in one of the following disciplines. Enrollment must be full time for each semester a student received a scholarship. o engineering; biological sciences (except medicine and other clinical fields); physical sciences, including physics, chemistry, astronomy and materials science; mathematics; computer and information sciences. • Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher. • US Citizen or eligible for Federal Financial Aid. pg. 1
