I made the decision to base my abstract composition on the effect that a mashrabiya's light has.

The mashrabiya was sometimes employed as a sign of wealth and status since it was expensive to make and install.

Ultimately, the mashrabiya is a significant component of traditional Arabic architecture because of its utilitarian uses and beautiful appearance.
