Alpicat is a small village that is located in Catalonia (Spain). Alpicat is in the Lleida’s region. Lleida’s city is bigger than Alpicat.

But now we are in Alpicat, since it is so small there is not very much information to explain The landscape that you can appreciate is made of fields and small hills. The environment is calm and good to live in. The history of Alpicat begins in 1948 when the name of Villanova was changed to Alpicat. The name Alpicat comes from the Arabic name 'Al-biqcat' which means closed fields.

The main events that you can find in Alpicat are some like the inauguration of the charge, town hall, high school, swimming pool… There are about 6.230 people but as it is a small town we don’t have any malls or many places to have fun. The main economic activity is agriculture.

Alpicat Solidari is a non-profit association created to contribute to the development of southern countries. That was created in 2005, and since its beginnings it has been carrying out different cooperation projects in Baja Kunda (Gambia) in the fields of education, health, agriculture and cooperation It also manages a food bank in Alpicat, in collaboration with the town council. The aim is to cover the basic food needs of those in need. We have only one public service, the bus station, you can find it near the library. Whe have one cinema and one theater. The cinema is far from the town center. The theater is in the center of town. Including gender equality, in Alpicat there are not gender discrimination because in all the places you look that it accepts all the genders. But in the street or other places you can hear offensive words or something similar

Alpicat is a beautiful town with a lot of things to do. We will put some important things to the center like the “parc del molí” and the cinema because it is so far of the center and other things. You can visit a lot of things like the charge and the town hall that is next to the charge there is a very famous theater than is called “La Sala Unió” you can visit to all the pretty fields than there are in Alpicat, near to the cinema there is another park to play football, go cycling and have fun in the slides. I think Alpicat could be more organized, but is fantastic.
