BSc María Degetau My name is Maria Degetau, I am a Mexican architect, passionate about design and nature. Throughout my personal life and career path, I have always looked to nature as guidance. I truly believe it is in nature where everything starts, this is why I wish to learn and understand it better. I have lived very close to nature my entire life. Growing up in a context surrounded by it, I have learned to appreciate and respect it. My family is from an area in Mexico that produces the endemic plant of vanilla. I have always found this plant and ecosystem perfectly wise, strong and beautiful. Because of this background, an interest in design began, and that is the main reason why I decided to become an architect. I am a positive person with a creative personality and the capacity to analyze abstract concepts. I enjoy working as a team because I appreciate the chance to learn from others and to know different perspectives and ways of resolving a certain task. One of the things that I most enjoy in life is travel, through these experiences I have also discovered how much this world has to offer. And as an architect, I cannot think of a design that doesn't contemplate the impact it can have on the world. Because I think that the effort to combat climate change is not enough, my personal goal as an architect and as a human being is to be part of the change and contribute to society with the possibility of a better way of living, and if the way to do so is through design, which is my passion, I will enjoy every part of the challenge.
