ABOUT ME Maria's interest in interior design naturally developed as she has always sought to pursue a creative path. With a background in media arts and a love for film, music, and video games, she seamlessly transitioned into design.

Drawing inspiration from the immersive worlds of video games, Maria aims to create spaces with a sense of escapism.

Led by her belief in designing for the people, she is excited to enter the workforce and create spaces that resonate with the community.

Audiomata: Final Retail Project

List of tools: AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Enscape, Photoshop and Procreate Audiomata is a high-end audio electronics store, specializing in a wide range of audio equipment. This is the final project presented to my 2024 graduating exhibition.

Solidifying and restricting the concept into a cohesive design took longer than anticipated. There was some hesitation to be this bold, but the intent was to draw attention, as I want to draw customers into the store.

StarLabs: Community Project

List of tools: AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Rendering by hand StarLabs is a place welcoming all interior design students and related fields, to make use of their computer lab, equipped with every software and printing they need to complete their projects. It is made for those who cannot access the software at home or after school hours. With no membership fee.

This project was extremely fun as rarely have projects to fully hand render anymore, and this is a great change of pace.

Riot Games: Office Project

Open Workstations

List of tools: AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Enscape and Layout Riot Games expands their firm by having their first office in Montreal. The competitiveness and drive of their players and workers is translated into the design of their new office space, also while giving them breathing room to relax.

Planning the layout for this project was the most challenging, as I often had to change many things around to meet demands and to finally resolve the never ending issues, when designing an office space.

Gaia Spa: Recreational Project

Regular Pool w/ Jets

List of software: AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Enscape and Layout In collaboration with Sophie-Helene Asriants, we’ve “established a water-based wellness centre where you customers can “submerge” themselves into alternative realities. By naming our spa after the Greek goddess of earth (Gaia), we aimed to create a symphony of gentle and rugged natural elements & textures, all in perfect harmony.”

This project was a challenge, working with rooms in need of sensory deprivation and privacy, the glazed building elongated our design process, as we try to solve our issue of limiting the waste of the windows and views. Yet it was a rewarding project, as everything fell into place and to our benefit.

Table Design & Scaled Model Project for Furniture Design & Construction course List of tools: AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Enscape Model materials: - 1/4" plywood for table top, wrapped in maple veneer & stained in dark brown -4x 1" plywood & foam shaped into leg profile, wrapped in thin embossing metal & spray painted in gold

For Furniture Design & Construction class, creating a unique and original table was fun and surprisingly challenging at times.

Especially with building the scaled model.

Design Goal: There is a decline and an extinction of album collecting. my furniture is inspired by discmans/walkmans/cd players that were invented not too long ago but are heavily neglected now.

I intend on designing a lounge chair for adults, it fits into homes as a minimal design and it is also perfect for home/music studios.

I want my chair to come in different colours and even the possibility to incorporate graphics into the cushion, to imitate actual cd designs.

Newstalgia for Formica: CD Player Chair Project List of software: AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Enscape For Furniture Design & Construction, we were introduced to the 2024's Formica student competition, in which the theme, this year, was Newstalgia, where you choose anything from a “retro” time period and create an innovative furniture piece. Anything that was once “old”.

My chair was simple enough, yet very doable and realistic, which was what I aimed for. It is also a timeless piece.

Luminaire Fixture Project List of tools: Procreate Materials: Recycled plywood, 3mm diameter aluminum wire, standard size pillow case, lamp kit For the course Colour and Lighting 2, we were instructed to design and build our very own light fixture. I took this as an opportunity to make my dream lamp, a warm, large and inviting floor lamp, which is inspired by Akari lamps. It sets the room to the right mood and I am glad to not only own it but to make use of it often in my bedroom.

For the Visual Communications course, we were instructed to choose any word and to design a graphic/logo with the letters, playing with any font and size.

For Visual Communications, we were instructed to choose chair that reflect any word from the design language and to express it all into a poster.

This project was great as there are no limitations. We were let loose, and it was perfect to challenge our creativity

This was a small assignment in which I had a lot of fun.

Dream Bathroom Project List of tools: AutoCAD & Hand Rendering For our Materials & Furnishing 2 course, we were instructed to design our dream bathroom, limited to a 10' x 8' space.

It was a simple yet exciting task, as we were encouraged to create something we want for ourselves and even doing a little shopping spree to select which products we want to have.

For Materials & Furnishing 2, we had to take measurements of our bedroom and window to then design our own window coverings.

It was a great practice on searching for manufacturers and products.

For Materials & Furnishing 1, we were instructed, in a team, to choose one kitchen within ourselves (mine) and to measure the whole kitchen to be able to do a “renovation “ of it.

While sage green was the trendiest colour of the time, we all agreed with no hesitation to make my new kitchen sage green. It was a great project testing our capabilities to work as a team.
